well its weird, some people on here are saying that the plastic can mess up the gimbal but I havent found that to be the case at all - thanks for watching!! I personally use it all the time with no issues. I don't think you can use the plastic cover and still put it in the supplied plastic case that comes iith the camera, it won't fit. Let me know if that helps and answered your question - hope you sub and come by again!
It's my main camera now but.... I am starting to have some issues with it. My camera has a very noticeable clicking noise when starting up or turning off and going into storage mode. Its like a ting/clicking coming from the gimbal or camera lens area. Curious if this is mine or normal, Im truly not sure. Its only noticeable in environments that are quiet. So while filming I typically don't hear it but at home I do. Also having an issue where it sometimes doesn't level correctly and the footage is slightly off. Turning it off and powering it back on fixes it though. Also wish the joystick control was smoother. Anytime i make a vide and use the joystick to move the camera, I am never happy with the video when editing. Lowlight is amazing. Picture quality, well um it makes me look older showing all of them wrinkles! So yes, picture quality is amazing. Wish it was water resistant and had a cover for the sd card slot. Im very happy with it but I see room for improvement. Who knows when the 4 will come but I would happily upgrade to a pocket 3 Pro if they made it!
@@jostalking Tilta calls it their Accessory Mounting Expander. It helps adding a few additional mounting points like from the sides instead of the bottom.
Great video! I ordered the plastic cover and magnetic attachment a week or 2 ago and I'm patiently waiting for them to come. I'm looking for a way to quickly use the Pocket when summer comes and I won't have big pockets anymore. The belt loop idea is good. Hopefully can find something more stylish haha
Yeah it’s pretty dorky, I’m not going to lie, lol! The other option is like a cross body bag I guess. Be patient - a lot of my stuff had to come from China, so it took a minute. Thanks for watching
DJI Pocket 3 is the best family camera of its own for now. Its video is so good that my 12 various camera are only good for one thing: PHOTO. Otherwise, the current DSL or mirrorless camera can be classified as industrial junks.
The SunnyLife Plastic Cover has a major flaw and should not be used - it fully protects the gimbal (and screen) from movement but it does NOT cover the on button. If that on button is accidentally pressed while Plastic Cover is on, your Pocket 3 is toast.
Hi Mark, thanks for commenting. But just so I understand, you’re saying that the power button gets turned on and your battery dies right? Or are you talking about damage to the camera?
@@markexploringnewstuff oh wow, good to know. Thanks for telling me. It’s never happened to me because I use the magnet casing in addition to the plastic cover. So the buttons are sunken in and harder to turn on. Super valuable info. Thanks
🤔 I must say Jo, I like u! U have me here smiling 😂, ur personality is great. And yes I’m one, that says I didn’t spend enough. So let me buy more stuff for the pocket 3, I purchased the pocket 3 right when it came out. Received it pretty fast, then sent it back, because I then decided the creator combo was the better choice. Trying to b cheap buying the standard pack, do I love the ingenuity. Yes! Should I love it more, yes! But I need to get out there. And put it to work, and I know I’ll love it as much as u 😂. Thanks for the great content, if I’m not subscribed, I’ll do so after this text message. Peace and blessings.✊🏿
Hey Kenny! Its comments like this that are my reward, because now I’m smiling! Appreciate the kind words. Get out there and use that beautiful piece machinery! Glad you got the creator combo the audio is killer.
That is an excellent question, to be honest I haven’t done it yet. I think it will be fine. It’s only a 20 mm lens though. I just wouldn’t use face detection so that the camera doesn’t focus on one person. I have tried the wider adapter to make the lens a Wider field of view, but I don’t like it because it distorts the sides Thanks so much for watching my video.
@@jostalking 35$ for replacement for pocket 3 which is definitely going to fail some time is not expensive. I would be going to Thailand so I have no option but to buy there and if something happens then have to fly there.
Gre@t video. Love the little bit of humor thrown in but not too much to take away from the video. Perfect amount. I have the pocket 2 and I just can’t bring myself to upgrade. I like the smaller size of the pocket 2 the most and I’m not really trying to to squeeze performance out of the camera. I mostly shoot in 1080p to save battery and sd card space. I like the ability to quickly shoot vertical video on the pocket 3 and I like the larger screen though so may eventually make the switch. You can shoot vertical video on the pocket 2 if you lock the gimbal and hold it sideways and then unlock the gimbal but it’s annoying to hold it sideways while you film.
I tried 4k once and I was so hooked, lol, I never went back to 1080 again. The truth is none of us need this stuff, a good story is a good story, I find that even when I shoot with my iPhone it’s fine. What kind of videos do you make?
@@jostalking I mainly just use it to film random family videos. I was dabbling in RU-vid on this channel and then I made an aviation channel but I was so busy with full time work I couldn’t get a good flow of how to film content and then organize it and learn to edit it all. It’s a huge learning curve to shoot actual planned videos and then store and label and edit all of the footage efficiently plus trying to learn to edit. I’ve always been drawn to RU-vid. I recently sold the plane but I’m getting back into rock climbing now so maybe I’ll make some content about that sometime. I want to continue the aviation channel but more geared towards day in the life of a private jet pilot and pilot gear guides and reviews since I sold the plane that was the main content source for the channel.
@@BaxterretxaBit wasn’t until we became empty nesters that I had the time to do this sort of thing. I was watching a video that talked about how much time we spend on social media, and take that time and put it into RU-vid. I was spending way too much time looking at cat videos lol
@@jostalking with my current job I do a lot of sitting in hotels so I’m thinking I’ll bring my cameras and film some videos and learn to edit. If it goes somewhere cool if not then also cool haha. Current machine is a M1 MacBook Air with 16gb ram and 1tb storage so it’s got plenty of power to edit on the go. My main thing is trying to learn how to efficiently use external hard drives to manage my libraries and footage so I don’t clog my 1tb main drive with loads of “video editing” files.
That Ulanzi bag looks really great and even better than the original DJi bag. I personally use a hard protective case made by Sunnylife. It has 2 variants: standard and combo carry size. The latter holds everything that comes with the Creator Combo, plus more room for other tiny stuff such as SD cards and cables. It's small and better in protection. Check it out. 😉
I do like your videos though. Very educational. If I had the money I would honestly get both pocket 3 and insta x3 but with my case I can only afford one.
Really that's super interesting. I'm glad to hear that it's not as fragile as I thought. I also got the DJI Care refresh, just in case I do something a little too stupid - thanks for watching!
Funny I have been trying to figure that one out too, this is what I came up with. Its actually a sticky pad that went with the insta 360 go 3, It has a 1/4 20 screw hole on it to screw into the bottom of the Pocket 3. It's not the best solution, but it's what I have been using. amzn.to/3xjhKA7 - you're basically using the bottom of the mount and it sticks to anything and it is re-usable, you just have to wash the sticky pad with soap and water.
What about the sony ZV-1 which is a fixed lenses? Isn't it also a 1" sensor with hdmi video out? I do like the pocket 3 but I find it a bit pricy without any optical zoom. So far I am sticking with a S23 Ultra in Pro Video mode. Blackmagic android app is dropping soon too. It shoots excellent 4k and 8k video with Ulanzi video lights. I picked a 40W PRO and 40W RGB lights with mini bowens softboxes that keeps vlog subjects sharp.
Wow sounds like a sweet setup dude. You bring up an excellent point. I just down own that camera. The mic is what put it over the top for me. It’s automatically connected without an adapter. So you shoot videos? What do you shoot?
I know!! The day they make the osmo pocket with a zoom lens, it’s all over for every camera maker. The zoom on this is okay, but it’s digital, so I don’t use it. I prefer to zoom with my feet and preserve all of the 4k goodness that I can😁
@@jostalking same here!! I am obsessed! I thought i was the only one!!! Makes my life so much easier! The magnet is the best! I have been doing DIY magnet for a long time before they launched this one!
Thanks for making this video, loving the editing ! I just got the R8 a few months ago, so I need to pace my spending 😂 ( not a fan, I got g.a.s. ) , I could really use a small one. It would make things so easy. So tempting. 😅 What do you think if I wait for the 4?
You totally don't need it! The R8 is a phenomenal camera and your videos are looking really good. I just like this because I am so self conscious of vlogging in public. Thanks for always leaving a comment Cristina! Have a wonderful day
@@CristinaFilms You know what is the hardest? Starting! I think it gets easier when you are in the flow, but it definitely doesn't ever get to be comfortable. Its just varying degrees of hard, lol
