I bought the E63S. Love the car. So much raw power and torque. The AWD system makes a huge difference off the line. He is right about how Merc does so well in making a very easy daily driven car, but can turn into a monster with the flip of a switch.

Before I watch I'm guessing the E63 will be the better one

Both are better than the CTS-V. The CTS-V is not a bad car, but the Europeans are just better at high-end cars than anyone else.

Idk how the Merc sounds in person, but that wet-slappy sound that every Bi-Turbo V8 AMG produces sounds like absolute dogshit.

The exhaust on the Mercedes E63 AMG S is ugly, to square in my opinion.

For me the e63 is the better car. I would take it just for the interior which i love by mercedes, also the sound is fuckin awesome and it looks gorgeous.

I'd choose the BMW, despite I love the Mercedes. Anyway, why do I keep seeing comparisons between the AMG S, which is the "top" and the "normal" BMW M5 without the Comp. Package, that would be fairer in my opinion. Perhaps that's the only way the Merc can stand a chance? :-P

i prefer the f10 m5. Although I'd i love to get a nice turbo set up with an e90 m5. Imo it looks more how i may say exotic.

I actually have an f10 525 d and its a very good drive and fast has well. Love the design on it. The one thing a car has to do, in my view, is leaving the car and looking at it,thinking, do I own this, wow im so lucky! Cool vids, keep up man.

Fellow M5 owner here. I don't think your heart was in that final decision. You wanted that E63 and you know it. Honestly, I wanted to LOVE the F10. I was super excited when it came out. But BMW just didn't hit the homerun I was hoping for. They got a close second base run. The smaller capacity V8 was probably surrounded by some economy scheme.. the exhaust issue more to blame by the "hot vee" setup than anything. It really screams EFFICIENCY. But at the same time, the AMG just doesn't have to try as hard to be more exciting. If the only knock I can really come up with is that it's AWD, then I'd say Merc has really, REALLY stepped up their game. Early 2000's was a dark era for the Three Pointed Star. But they've come full circle, and it's almost like the geek that no one wanted to hang out with has been hitting the gym and preparing for the high school reunion.. In spades..

That intro was on another level! Also personally I'd take the E63 but I hear next generation M5 might be AWD the first AWD M of its kind, it's gonna either be Insane or very poor. Can't wait to find out.

Great review! Returning to your channel after a long time and glad that I'm back with this video. As for the cars, in my opinion, the E63 has more class and elegance. You can arrive to an office meeting in this and people won't think you're a douchbag. The E63 is biased towards an older audience while the M5 is aimed at the younger guys. Its really hard for me to pick between these. But I will say, that is one awesome looking M5! The first one I've seen in matte orange. Looks perfect!

I hate the sound of the E63 ...

DMS, a U.K. based tuner who do an up to 732bhp tune on the M5 have said every single one they've dyno'd has made at least 600bhp. It's not as under rated power wise as the E63, but it's still making significantly more than claimed. It's all good :)

Video was great until you said the BMW is a better car. What the fuck? Before that sentence you listed all the reasons why the Mercedes was an all around "better" and more usable car. Then you say the M5 is a better car. The M5 will NEVER have luxury. It literally is, and only is, a sports car. The E63 looks like a luxury and sports car especially with those red brakes. The M5 wins for sporty experience, yes, but the all around better car is the E63.

Best supersedan?!?! That would be the RS7. As far as this comparo is concerned: E63 has better steering and better engine. E63 is quicker and faster. M5 has a better transmission and that's really it. M5's steering is frankly a HUGE disappointment. M5 loses all the way. Sorry...

The new CTS V will shit on them both.
