Press both jump buttons at the same time to guarantee a short hop and pressing attack and jump gives a guaranteed short hop Ariel

Aside from this being a really well put together guide, i think the thing i appreciate most about this is that you didn't edit out when you didn't connect a combo. I think it'll reassure a lot of people who miss combos knowing that even you miss them sometimes. Keep up the great work!

9:47 Watch the two alphas “fighting” over territory. Not really fighting, but assuming their most threatening pose to try to scare its enemy away. Sheiks often do this because if they were to actually fight. They would give away that they can’t do enough damage to be considered a threat.

14:35 How you explain why not to use f-tilt makes a ton of sense. I used to think f-tilt was faultless until you said this and I understand why now. I’d be fighting Link. We’re both at high percent. I’d use f-tilt and sometimes it will land, but if it misses, I get a Great Spin to the face and lose a stock. It could also ruin your advantage state.

I've been playing Sheik since brawl (prob would've played her in melee too if I had it), she's such a cool character, and your "why play sheik" at the beginning was spot on, lmao. I've thought for a while that a cool change they could make to her is the ability to angle her aerial needles by holding up/down. Thoughts?

that would be cool but i feel like it would be kinda unnecessary as the current angle that needles are at is optimal considering her falling from them into a combo works for the lag out of the needles also i vibe with what you said, that’s my sheik story too!

I think it would be cool if when you fully charge your needles if you press b once it will send one needle and if you hold b it will send more depending on how long you hold it.i think this would make for some cool needle combos.

Don’t give me hope void. I just talked myself into dropping sheik because my I drop games to guys I regularly beat with other characters. I definitely love the cool feel of playing well with her. But all to often I’ll be up in the mid game, then get frozen where I can’t close the stock and they catch up and eventually get passed. Guess I’m gonna slide back and give her another try

Ammon Fullmer I’ve been getting really good results with sheik after watching this. The key is keeping the pressure up and knowing when to be aggressive and when to hang back. Work on your neutral as well and she’ll start making more sense.

Honestly it depends on if you wanna play the game casually or competitively. If you wanna be competitive, and you feel sheik is holding you back, switch it up. If your just playing online and with friends and have the most fun with sheik, stick with her

I’m so happy a good sheik guide is a actually out, very happy. On the forward though segment, when they di out I usually go for a running instant jump up air, and depending on if they have any quick moves I’ll just fast fall it it. works till about 30~40% don’t know if you go over this since I’m only 22 minutes and 12 seconds in but on the very off chance you don’t here’s something I guess to experiment with, I’m not too good with sheik yet so I don’t know how practical this is, but it’s much easier(to me) than trying to get fair up air(probably cause I’m inconsistent on timing his moves). But anyways can’t wait to see more videos from you, especially about sheik, and hope you keep rising and growing, good luck 😊

I had a mental barrier because the damage output with fair when I first started with sheik. She takes a lot of time to even play at an acceptable level that I could learn from. One thing that helped me a lot is to finish combos with Bair if my combos weren’t going to extend. Bair is sheiks strongest arial damage wise and once I started figuring out my own play style I felt like I was doing way more damage and didn’t have that mental barrier anymore

I've been looking for a secondary for my main(MegaMan) and Sheik has always been one of those characters I come back too and this video has really helped me improve my gameplan and overall confidence in this character . I'm a Falcon main, Little Mac secondary, Yink pocket, and a heavy for each being Ganon heavy main, DK heavy secondary, Bowser heavy pocket. Most of these characters have bad recoveries. I kinda want to main Sheik, good combo game, looks cool, fun to play. I definitely think I can improve with her considering I was a Sheik main back in Brawl. Wish me luck :)
