Thanks for sharing! A detail honest presentation of the beauty of Singapore! Highly recommended to those who going to visit Singapore for the first time. Appreciated!
@@jamesharris5174 You must visit again! When you get to know some locals - most of them are really friendly and warm in their reception of visitors - they will be at pains to show you more (hidden?) layers of Singapore… 🙂
I really enjoyed this- thank you for all the effort you've put into the producing it! Two things to add: (a) the Jurong Birdpark is now permanently closed as they are relocating it to the Mandai zoo area. (b) one of the funnest things to do at Marina Bay is to get there in the evening and rent a bicycle to explore the entire area. They will give you a bike lock so you can stop wherever you want to. Thanks once again and I'm looking forward to more of your travel videos!
Oh, thanks for letting us know the Bird park has officially closed! I wonder how long it will take for them to move all the birds. 😳 Well look into renting bikes next time - that sounds like fun!
Watching your video brings back so much memories that we had with our children when they were young, we visited many parks regularly ~ Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Singapore Botanic Garden, Jurong Bird Park (they have moved to Mandai so they are together with the other 3 parks now), the domes as well as the Sentosa Musical fountain which has been replaced by the hotels and Universal Studios. The Botanic Gardens and Sentosa Musical Fountain are our regular haunts as they are nearest to our home and free. We called the drink hundred plus here without the one just like Singlish, it is faster. It is an isotonic drink for replenishing electrolyte if u perspire a lot. You have to try the durian, not durian ice cream, 😂many people love it, my husband has a Japanese colleague who had to have durian every month because his family is hooked but there are also foreigners who hated it too. Thank you for presenting Singapore so uniquely from your perspective with some places not frequently visited by other tourists with lots of walking and sweat. Hope to have u back soon for the new Birds of Paradise, you may also like the Japanese and Chinese Gardens, Treetop Hiking trails, Sungei Buloh Park, Henderson Bridge, mostly free except u will need to pay for a lot of sunscreens and isotonic drinks. 😉
Thank you!! We actually returned to Singapore after making this video, because we had so many great recommendations on things to do! We visit the new SG bird park, the nature serve, outer islands, and more! Our next video may or may not include our first actual durian tasting (table neighbors gave it to us). Singapore is amazing! 😊
Fantastic!! We are hoping / planning to return this summer and spend another week there doing the things we didn't have time to do on the first trip. You've been warned. 😉😉😉
First time visitors to Singapore hawker centres will be wise to make use of the hotels' napkins/tissue when leaving for your food adventure, as no free tissues will be available unless you buy them from the drinks vendors.
@@jovrieni think its better to avoid HK and Taiwan. HK not the same after Chinese Army have invaded it. Not even a good place to invest and park your money there anymore. For Taiwan, if you dont want to be in the the middle of war, better dont visit it. Its just matter of tike only before China sending their Navy ships and Fighter jets into Taiwan. And Taiwan have commendable Army too, so it goona be real bad fight. So juat avoid HK and Taiwan. Just visit South East Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Far better choice and safety.
Am leaving for Singapore tomorrow. This video has been on my ‘watch later’ list for a long time due to the 1h40m play time. I always thought I better watch a marvel movie instead of watching your video…..until RU-vid played it randomly yesterday and I went along with it while cooking dinner!! This was the most informative video I have ever seen for Singapore. Having watched it I am kind off pissed at it for robbing me off the surprise factor beginning tomorrow but it also has prepared me well and helped me firm up my travel plans!
It was the mystery of RU-vid magic that played it! 😂😂 This was the best comment - thank you for making us laugh. Enjoy your trip to Singapore. May many surprises await you!! 😉😉
Greetings from down under. Just love you guys, I came across your vlog today and now subscribed so I’ll go and watch more of your adventures. We were last in Singapore in Mar 17 and now plan on going back this year. You went to a few places we didn’t get to so we’ll be going there. Stephen
So far the best vlog video about Singapore, i have ever seen. You both are lovely couple. Very interesting. Best part is lovely music and clarity. Heather, u kept the whole video lively. 😊
wow...i can't believe i watched a 1:40 hr video but i definitely enjoyed it! i've done all of it in Singapore plus more and I must say you did a great job in your 8 days trying all the best bits and some not so mainstream parts of Singapore...so kudos to you. honestly if you are a first timer to Singapore the itinerary in this video is a great start! can't believe you crammed all 3 parks in one day, so exhausting! haha but love it if you go back again once the chinese/japanese garden reopens that should be nice. and the jurong bird park is going to be relocated to the Mandai area where all the other zoos are with another rainforest park to be added. singapore- green, clean, organised and efficient :)
Singapore 🇸🇬 fan Thanks U 😊 lovely 💑 couple Thanks for sharing your experience, We are glad n honour for your happy holiday in Singapore, most welcome to see U again 😊
Great video! There is a nice garden right next to where you were standing at 28:17. It's part of the gardens and has a special area for cactus etc. It's pretty big and a very nice walk. All for free.
Two comments. First, great to see how much Haw Par Village has improved. When we went 6 years ago, it had fallen into pretty serious disrepair. Second, for those into hiking, Singapore has some great areas. Bukit Timah is a tough climb. MacRitchie Reservoir is a nice long hike. Henderson Wave and the Southern Ridges also provide a good walk in combination with great architecture.
Lots of restaurants and food court with good food are available at the basement. Singaporeans and local residents head to Jewel for meals sometimes. Easily accessible via train on east west line
Trying visiting the east side of Katong, Marine Parade, East coast, and other parts east where you will find Singapore's other communities there, the Peranakan and Eurasian communities with their interesting and unique cuisines from both of them!!!!!
(PETRICHOR: a distinct scent, usually described as earthy, pleasant, or sweet, produced by rainfall on very dry ground.) I think that is the caramel smell u mentioned. From my own experience, the smell is also a little spicy, and when it's particularly strong, it makes the back of your nose tingle.
Very informative video, this is the best video I have ever watch. I will definitively consider visit Singapore next year. If you have posted other videos at other places please share with us ( especially in Madrid Spain). Thanks.
Thank you very much for watching! We love Spain but have not filmed there yet. We do have other videos from other places in Europe, including Spain's neighboring country of Portugal! We also have a lot of videos from Japan. Please have a look. 😊
Hi Guys, Thank you so much for this very informative video of Singapore - a whole 1hr40mins of it too! I will be heading there as a solo traveller early next year. You have made me even more excited to go! ~Rm😊
Hi, for the satays, the peanut sauce is the only sauce for the satay and the rice. The remaining spicy sauces should be for the shrimps/tiger prawns which you have ordered. Great video btw.
jewel is a mall. it is regarded as the crown of the airport. it has been designed structurally and functionally to cater to both members of public not travelling out of Singapore, as well as for tourists.
I can relate to the feeling and excruciating at times to put in so much effort to create vlogs... Good to see ,another different side of how other creators and people from different parts of the world ,look at this island-city that I also call home...... Keep it real , and stay safe out there...Cheers mates!
Just came across you guys and this vlog! Well done 👍 We had our first ever trip to Singapore in September for my hubby's 60th! Only a short flight from Bali where we live now!!!!
@@TalesFromOurPocket yesss we would love to return we only had 4 nights there but packed a lot in! But you've given me so many ideas (cheap or free!) for our next visit. Btw we loved the Arab quarters too, so quirky and colourful!
Many thanks, I got a great idea about Singapore from watching your channels. I like it very much. Want to see new travel pictures. I subscribed. stay well.
After watching your video I realized we’ve covered only a very small part of all the sights and scenes of Singapore! I wish you could provide some information on your hotels because you were totally on your own instead of with a travel group. Enjoyed your video very much!!
We stayed near Clarke Quay the whole time! Half the time we were at Holiday Inn Express and the other half we were at Four Points by Sheraton. We used hotel points for this stay. 😊😊
Absolutely fascinating. Native Californian here. Been visiting Singapore from childhood to adulthood, to see relatives and eat/shop. But, you showed me things even I was not aware of! My BF is also Wisconsin-Minnesotan, and one day I’d like to take him to S’pore. I’ve traveled to all seven continents (penguins are just as curious of humans as we are of them), but I can’t video blog worth a satay skewer. 😢
I'm so glad we were able to share things you hadn't seen before! I guess it's time for a return visit with your BF! 😉😉 (Also, hello to BF from a fellow Minnesconsin-ite! 😁)
Such a lovely video of your journey in Singapore. It’s a long video but you got me hooked and watched till the end. You’ve shown a totally different perspective which I’ve never seen from other RU-vidrs. Well done!
I just returned from Singapore/Malaysia, and it was amazing. I stayed in the Riverside area and walked everywhere and saw pretty much everything you guys visited. Oh, by the way the satay stickers are skewers. Great video from a single Aussie traveller. The colours of Singapore were fantastic, even Malaysia was similar.
On egg tarts, the Portuguese did colonise Macau and Malacca, so not superposition surprising they get to our shores. Imagine my amusement when I visited Sintra and found a faux durian as one of the exhibits in the kitchen.
Alhamdullah saya dh ke Singapura memanjakan mata healling sejenak bertiga ciwik2 semua, hari jumat satu hari nyampe ka mna2 jln kaki 2kilo meter kulinernya mahal2
Way to go. I was in Singapore back in 2019 (before nonsense happened) and it was a splendid two day and one night stay. Walked from my hotel to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay. Took tons of pics. People, culture, food was all I expected. It was an awesome experience.
*W😳T ? U guys did not try eating LAKSA ?* Or Turtle Soup Or Nasi Priyani Or Chay Kuey Teow Or Mee Soto Or Curry Chicken Noodle Or BBQ Stingray Or Mutton Soup Or Stir-fried Crocodile with Veg Or... . . . Nvr mind 🤤😘
😂😂 they all taste like chicken? 😉 Seriously though - hypothetically, let's say we're making a return visit to Singapore in 2023. Which 2 things on here are your most favorite or must-tries?
@@TalesFromOurPocket I would recommend Laksa ( request for less spicy or no added chilli oil ) and Nasi Bryanni. Both are flavourful. Enjoyed watching your video from start to end !
Welcome to sunny Island Singapore despite of raining monsoon season. Thank you for sharing your vblog. Hope you have enjoyed the food here. Enjoy all the things you wanted. Hope to bring you guys around outside the tourists place to enjoy the local people live and the food.
Oh u guys came during our warmest month from feb-april.. come in november- january in future during christmas its 75degrees while its freezing there.. great video by the way
Thanks for the wonderful video. Love it! I will be visiting Singapore for the 8th time (I think) and am looking forward to it as there is so much to explore each trip. When you do return to Singapore, do try my local favorite - "bak chor mee" (minced pork noodles) as well as "toast and half boiled eggs". Simple, delicious food. Also there are these local traditional snack or "kueh" called "tu tu kueh" and "chwee kueh". Lastly, do try the "peranakan food" or "nyonya food" if you have the chance. There are three places that is known to me for peranakan food and each of them made theirs slightly different - the other two places being Penang (home to Char Kuay Teow) and Melaka (historic place with Portugese influence) in Malaysia. Cheers
We do have Portuguese egg tarts sold here in SG but it's not sold everywhere. 😅 You guys should totally get the sugarcane juice to try instead. By the way, the rice you had is called chicken rice rather than chicken & rice. I love that you guys take the time to spend 8 days in SG, to slowly go through all the places, some of which are not tourist spots. I have seen many videos of people spending only 2-3 days in SG, rushing through the days which there are still many places & food which they have not tried. Hope to see you guys back in SG soon! 😊😊😊
Awesome video guys. You had mentioned that you paid for a package to Gardens by the Bay. Did you purchase ahead of time or just walk up to ticketing to make to purchase on the same day? Unfortunately we only set aside 2 days for Singapore and this seems to be something we might want to spend one of the 2 days on. TIA.
We purchased the deal the day before online. You can purchase tickets up to 10 days before you want to go (tickets are for a specific date). They usually have bundle deals, so make sure you check those out!
Great video, I see that it's a lot of walking being disabled having problems walking are they seats to rest during the events? Which one do you think are the best for people that has it hard walking?
