I just had that feeling of 'home' yesterday! I was walking back to my van and all of a sudden started running because I was just so excited to get back. You summarized that feeling perfectly!
Let me add my Wow! to the chorus of very impressed viewers! You've done a fantastic job! I love everything about it. I hope for some additional build out videos but I certainly understand if you were just focused on keeping your head down and getting it done. Amazing work, Everest!
Wow you built and designed this on your own? Very impressive. Beautiful van, well thought out design, and a beautiful color scheme I also love how externally it looks stealth; it does not look like someone lives in this van from the outside. Smart!! Well done.
glad to have found your van! so proud of you...and now I found your name - Traveler's Tale so I can find you so much easier now. I just saw the one with the snow cave and your gal pal....cooool snow cave and fun to see you interact-- she said she cooks with love and uh oh you replied- and? i cook with hate? - lol
Have just found your channel your van is lovely. We are in the UK and did a conversion ourselves We have a Citroën relay and love just packing and heading out.x
I would put a shower pan on the door entrace and a shower curtain. And shorten the cabinets in the entrance door. I would put the stove near the window . And put the sink where your stove is now.
Showed the husband ur video/Van & told him I’d luv to do this! He laughed for solid 3 min.’s. “Jill, r u NUTZ? You’d need one Van just for ur hair products & makeup/clothes”. Ha. 🙄Very funny Mr Man! Keep on truckin young man! So jealous! 🤣🤣👍🏻
Hello, I just reviewed your video on your van so impressive. I purchased a Roadtrek 2010 in 2015 for $115,000 and traveled in it for 160,000 miles and loved it. I had an electrical fire in 2017 and totaled it. Purchased another Roadtrek 2018 and put on 120,000 miles and sold it two years ago. You did a great job on the van coversion did you do it yourself? If not where did you have it done? Very impressed. Please let me know. Mark Falkowski
I just found your channel..my question is do you make a build video while you were building your van. And your van is beautifully built. Safe travels💛🚌
Question... What was your reason for not making those 2 back Insets windows I would hate to not be able to see outside cause that would be part of why I want to be there in the woods. Thoughts?
Lots of questions: I'd like this conversion exactly, except I would want to put a bathroom right next to your barn door. Possible? Never done rv living....ever! Could 2 people live in this van? Husband is 6'3", I'm 5'6" We are retirees. Don't want to buy a conventional RV trailor and truck. We want to travel easily. Can we get your plans and hire someone to build this van exactly like yours...adding bathroom? What is approximate total cost? Thanks so much. Your van is absolutely awesome!!!!
Just found your channel last night. Love what you are doing and have done with your real custom van. Can you share the plans and cost? I think this is better than what you can buy from custom builders.
I never made official plans or anything, just ran with a design mostly in my head. Here’s what I’ll do, if a few more people ask this question then I’ll make detailed plans available.
@@TravelersTale i watched trent and allies van build the other day. You both have similar features but I liked your design a little better than theirs. Especially not having a toilet across from the stove. Lol. I bet yours is way less expensive than theirs too.
I believe I have the same Iceco frig. Have you had any problems with them? I had mine for maybe 2.5 months living in it and the smaller freezer side broke. I just got a new one and I think I have to put more air flow circulation so the new one doesn't break too even though I already had more ventilation than what you show😅 so I was curious
Nice van, i am hoping one day to do a van build and I am very keen to know what your lifting system for the bed is. I am hoping to get a motorbike in too, which may have to go across the width of the van.
I am about to move from a RTT on my Jeep Gladiator to a Sprinter type van. I really like you van design. Did you build it or was I done by someone else? Or purchased this way?
Hi, I’ve watched this video several times now. I really want to build a similar bed. Do you have a link to the these actuators and the rails you used? Thank you 🙏
Wow very good. I love the bed. What pulley system did you use ? Also when your cooking how do you extract the gasses within the vehicle so you don’t get carbon dioxide poisoning?
Beautiful van! I love this whole layout and the thought you have put into every detail. I am a professional watercolour artist planning van life and was wondering how you thought it would work if the bed didn't slide down as much and one side of the seating became a dedicated fixed table/workspace that didn't need to be cleared to sleep. My current workspace is 150cm wide x 90cm deep but this could be altered to suit as I also have my printer and large computer screen sitting on it. Also, I like the idea of a shower area and have seen one built as a triangle or square in the left corner that you walk through to the cab: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zh_RjarUZGM.html . Takes away some kitchen bench but you have plenty already in your build for my purposes (I hate cooking LOL). Lastly, I need my vehicle to tow a horse trailer with one horse in it plus some gear so trailer loaded weight would be about 1500-1800kg. With the weight of a van build like yours, is it possible to tow as well? I am 174cm tall and my chihuahua takes up far less space than my horse :-) Thanks!
In a fire, a van that’s really hard to break into will be difficult to get out of at night in the dark and the smoke. They don’t even allow locks that require a key in a house in most cities. Do you have a propane detector too? Should also have a carbon monoxide detector in the back if anybody’s ever gonna nap back there while you’re driving. I knew some people whose son died in their pick up truck camper van while they were driving it and he was laying down back there due to a carbon monoxide poisoning. it’s especially important if you’re going to wall off the cab air from the back.
Just came across your channel. It sounds like you've had a pretty rough year between losing your beloved car/home and then your girlfriend. But it certainly seems like you've channeled your energy into creating this beautiful work of art. I still can't believe that this wasn't professionally done. Anyway, congratulations on a job well done it looks very exciting. Wishes for a much better new year Stay safe!
I agree with what seems like all comments, LOOKS AS GOOD AD ANY PRO BUILD. When it rains it pours. Life happens. Gear up nothing lasts forever. You are pretty resilient. Keep moving forward, onward and upward.
I’d love to get the blue print for your conversion. Only thing Id add is a toilet:standing shower like a wet bath. Gotta get a shower every night. I’d be in Heaven quite literally. GREAT design. 👍🏽🙌🏽
I've seen sort of buckets on the floor by the sink with a hook up curtain that goes all round you & a shower attachment - but in reality would make a mess & you hardly have elbow room. Alternatively, you would have to sacrifice half the sitting area to make a wet room at the back and this means no permanent bed up against roof etc. Could just get a Tny House on wheels instead !
I have a couple of suggestions! 1. I would definitely insulate those back doors! It will make such a difference for temperature control, especially with draftiness and potential condensation. You could even add small, shallow shelves or, since you have the curtains covering anyway, hang storage racks/pouches/hooks for gear, tools and what not. 2. I would get a small emergency, dry flush or cassette toilet and put it between the 2 front seats while parked with window covers... that way the temperature will be more regulated and all you have to do is slide the partition door open and you've got a little bathroom, at least for emergencies if you don't want to leave the van. Also do you have something under your mattress to prevent mold? There's lots of products out there that take up virtually no space to put under it to prevent any condensation or mold/mildew. Also, have you heard of "Beddys bedding"? They are absolutely PERFECT for beds in vans, you basically never have to make your bed, and they're super comfy! And a little idea for in bed or just lounging on the couches, I would put a small reading light in the top corner on each side of the wall cutouts. That way you have a small light when your on the couch if you don't want the big lights overhead and you have a small reading light for when you're in bed that you can reach quickly if you need to put on a quick little light! Last thing I promise lol... there are super awesome bugscreens that you can put in your doorways, I couldn't live without them! Anyways, sorry for the novel I got a little carried away! Safe travels! 😊✌️💚
Good suggestions. Do you, yourself live in or have a customized van. This is probably one of the nicest van fit outs I've seen. Absolutely beautiful. This makes me want to invest in a van and trick it out. The only thing missing is a bathroom.
You are a fascinating man. I could listen to you speak for hours. Great job on the build and the explanation of the finished product. You definitely are a engineer.
Well done 🎉. This is by far the best van (mansion on wheels) that I have been hoping to find in my now 2 years of extensive research. It is simply perfect, elegant and so sophisticated. I would however need a bathroom of some kind and bring myself to think about the toilet situation that grosses me out the least!! Then I would have to find a van builder here in Australia. Also, aircon is as vital as the very air we breathe down here. But your gorgeous creation has just knocked out all of the previous contenders in one strike 🎉 Thank you so very much for sharing your dream machine, and wish you an abundance of joy, health and happiness in the many kilometres ahead ❤
