We take a look at the Hegel H390 and H590 amplifiers with Anders Ertzeid VP of Sales and Marketing at Hegel Music Systems and Alan Sircom, Editor of Hi-Fi+ magazine.
I was at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show and to be honest the Hegel Room was one of the Best Rooms at the show the H590 with Kef LS50's was excellent the Music was very open and detailed and sounded amazing would like to hear the H590 with Kef Reference 5's with Nordost Cables.
@@markgoodhew3598 H390 Kef R7 with kef R2C and kef ls50 meta as rear surrounds. B&W M1 as my heights. Marantz 8015 avr and a Panasonic HZ 2000 65 inch oled. All upgraded since October 2020. Now I am officially broke 🤭🤭.
Thank you for this interesting and non-commercial discussion. I have a H30 power amplifier associated to another preamp brand. How do you consider the separates electronics compared to the H390 or H590, for example with the pair H30 / P30. Thanks a lot for your answer.
Hi, thanks for this video. Good job. Do you have any idea how a H190 or H390 would be sounding with my B&W 805'd3? Are they going to be a good match? And on these speakers what would I gain in sound with the one over the other? Regards Kris
I haven't heard 805 but I have heard 804 and 802. Hegel has a very controlled smooth sound but the control makes it a bit dead in the midrange compared to other manufacturers in the same price range. I am however not sure if the midrange is bad or if it's just how controlled the bass is anf fools you. If you can check out the Nad M33.
@toffe2ventil I have the B&W 804 D3's and have been researching IAs. The Hegel H390 caught my attention a few months ago and was lucky enough to demo the amp with a pair of 804D3's at a ListenUp AV store. Excellent imaging, sense of openness, and bass. So much so that I had to place it on order.
@@marcusm5127 I have the Hegel 390 feeding Kef R900 speakers. Mid range is frighteningly real on good female vocal recordings. Using innuos zenith mk 3 with Roon.
