Thanks for giving the NSX its due. I watched a "pre-tour" by a prominent RU-vidr and he practically didn't acknowledge the NSX at all likely because it isn't a million dollar car. I hope to visit someday before this exhibit is removed. Thanks for the preview.
Thank you for taking the time to make that video. Given that I'm the UK during a pandemic, the chances of visiting are close to nil so it was great to see it remotely. It was mighty impressive seeing your ability to talk about each car in good detail with barely a pause for breath. The driver(s) who maneouvred those cars into position can probably say they have driven more supercars than almost anyone in the world other than Jay Leno!
Fantastic! I’ve been at Petersen Automotive Museum again in the beginning of this year. Amazing! Congratulation! I am look forward to be there again! Very nice exibition!
Great show, wish I could make it to see in person. Thanks. Could you have the camera work its way around the cars some more? Maybe open some doors and hoods, too? Don't be shy on quantities and driving traits. For example, the Cobra 427 may or have been the most powerful car in the early-mid 1960s, but it's power at a light weight made it exceptionally quick and a handful to drive.
Your McLaren F1 HDK is incredible! Kandy Orange, high-downforce kit, LM specification, does it get any better? That car sold at auction for about $13 million a few years ago, and I guess you were the buyer? A Magnesium Silver F1 HDK sold for around $20 million last year, so it just shows the appreciation.
And there is a longtail GTR with street licence for sale at 15 millions dollars for month now and it does not sell. Maybe the appreciation you talk about is more hype that people that can afford these dont hâve anymore
To be fair, Porsche brought that bit of confusion on themselves. :) It is nine-five-nine, but they also have nine-eleven, nine-eighteen, nine-twenty-eight, nine-forty-four, etc.
Thank you so much for making this video! I came to the Museum for a day trip from San Jose via the Mega Bus early February, before the madness began. I got the email from Petersen about this exhibit (My favorite cars of all time) and was hoping to go again later this month, since the San Francisco auto show is a no-go... But now Mega Bus no longer heads that way, masks are mandatory everywhere and so on. So even though I can't be there in person..I suppose I can smoke a fine cigar, have my espresso and still enjoy🤷♂️ Thanks again.
Excellent collection! The McLaren F1 will forever be my favorite. If I had $5 for every "uhhh," in the video, I could buy 1000 of us our favorite Supercars! ;)
So awesome to see these cars in one collection. I think I recognize some of Jay Leno's cars, the Mercer and maybe the Muria, and Freddie Hernandez' Lamborghini from the Fast and Furious franchise.
Really appreciate you taking the time to do this really cool to get a one on one tour. The Mclaren F1 was the first Road going supercar to sell for over a million Dollars and is still the world's fastest naturally aspirated 2wd Super car Bugatti barely beat the Mclaren with a quad turbo W16 and all wheel drive not to mention that the Veyron runs out of fuel right before the tires explode. The veyron is also not a drivers car like the Mclaren is. In addition the kit on that car would be referenced as the High downforce kit not Lm spec the high downforce kit was avail as an option from Mclaren at the time.
One would consider Corvette more of an American supercar as opposed to very limited run Saleen. The MC12 is a race car and the Enzo is it's road going version but hey you're the Curator, not me :)
I would like to see this exhibit just for the 288 GTO. That was the car that made me fall in love with cars when it first came out. Never seen one outside of a photo.
@@patrickmcwilliams3957 because these people are the self appointed stewards of automotive history. If no one holds them to any standards soon there will be no standards. "Why are you such a hater?" Jesus, that's the whining cry of the participation medal generation. Not everyone who dislikes something is a "hater". Grow up.
The Mclaren F1 is equal to the 1955 Mercedes Benz Gullwing in Aluminum body. What I mean by this is in their time period of release changed Automotive history. Design execution, thinking outside the box especially a 3 seat layout F1. We will never know what would of happened if Mclaren would have received the Mugen Honda V10. This is not made up. Mugen made the legendary Honda engines for F1 and Mclaren wanted them for the road car. Parent Honda said NO. They cared about fuel mileage in road going vehicles. For us Car fans more angles of the cars would have been better.
Would love to be able to get to see this display. Watching this video will have to do however. Unfortunately my ocd couldn’t get past the pronunciation of Lemans (Lemar?).
Great exhibition although I was missing the Mercedes Simplex, the Alfa Romeo 2900 8C and the Jaguar E-Type. The E-Type might be not as rare as some of the other cars in the exhibition but it was a true supercar of its time.
A friend of mine had a GT40 replica a few years back. It was so good, even peopke who done works on original GT40's had to get under the hood and look very, very close to tell it was a replica.
Yes the restoration was good and not o er done but you removed the pinstriping done by Von Dutch . Why did you not put the pin striping back on? As Steve McQueen had it put on the Jaguar, but you removed it when it was restored.
Jaguar XJ220 didn’t quite reach 220mph but managed 217mph so not far off. Not just “one of the highest performing cars of the day.. it was the fastest production car for years.
If you seek you will find, what you find is what you have projected. To find that one thing there must be freedom from all attachment, the one thing is compassion, it is the one answer that is true under all circumstances and therefore, out of that right action.
That red Lamborghini countach was taken out my garage. 😤😤😤 I'm calling 911 hello hello is anyone there hello..!!!!..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪MY DREAM CAR.😋😋😋😋😋😋
It’s nice to see these cars parked up to look at, but it’s kinda sad that most of these cars will never have any big miles put on the clock. These should be driven
If your a person that watches car videos on RU-vid Farrahs Countach has been in about 100 videos this last year haha. Now we know why Ammo NYC assembled a dream team of paint specialists to polish it.
When will we see the Ultimate Car Collection??? Bruh, Ownners of 001, 002 and 003 of the F 50 GT , give it a shot and make a 4K Video of that Damn Car:). This is ridicioless how rare even Pictures or Infos are(n´t) available onle...........
