I was at Taiwan last week. It’s a very underrated travel destination. I miss the food, people, culture, and everything about it. I can’t wait to go back!
I’ve lived in the Midwest for the past year and now Ireland and yeah it’s so hard to hold on to my Taiwanese food culture because none of the ingredients I had to go on a trip to Vancouver to even get the sesame sauce I love
As a Taiwanese who lived a year in Wisconsin, I definitely had hard time to get used to the food culture there, not the food is bad, I just wish there were more options to choose from. 😅
I just got back from Taiwan and can't stop talking about it and recommending it to my friends. The people were really friendly, the food was sooo good, and it's such a beautiful country. Definitely will go back!
Just went to Taiwan after a few years of not visiting. Really felt in love with the place yet again. Taichung and Taipei were amazing and the night market foods just coveered my dinner for the entire trip.
Oh my god I went to the same dumpling place in Ningxia Night Market when I was visiting Taipei earlier this year. Me and my friends saw the place crowded with local people so we just went in and as expected, the food was sooooo good. It was a cold rainy night in Taipei so the dumplings and hot soup really helped warm our souls. Highly recommend!!!
I traveled to Taiwan over 20 years ago and still frequently think about it and what a wonderful experience it was. This video brought back all of those memories. Night markets were one of my favorite things!
I visited Taiwan 5 years ago and I absolutely fell in love. Night markets were incredible and food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back there in the future
My mom was born and raised in Taipei Taiwan and her wish when she died was to go back to Taiwan so I’m looking forward to taking her ashes back and seeing this beautiful country that she would talk about all the time.
I have been to Taiwan. The people and food is just fantastic. At night hundreds of street food stores. So yummy. The famous bubble tea is invented in Taiwan. Love the slang of Minnan language. Wonder why not much of promotions on Taiwan. Taiwan is a lovely country👍❤
Every time I've been to Taipei the night markets never disappoint! The squid looks so good. Also love seeing what other countries eat their guava with, as a Vietnamese-American I grew up eating it with chili-salt!
I'm soooo jealous! I haven't been back to Taiwan since covid (I used to go there every year before that) but I hope to go back soon. I love the nightmarkets. The food is delicious and so cheap that you can eat like a king without spending much money. I miss Taiwan so much.. It's my favorite country after Japan (a very close second).
I need to try that pig's blood cake. The combination with peanut and coriander is genius, makes so much sense! Hopefully I'll go to Taiwan next year to try it. 🙏
Love Taipei and Taiwanese are definitely some of the nicest people in Asia... These night markets are amazing... spent most of my money here shopping and eating....
you've gone home !!!! shilin night market I think will always be my favorite because it's right next to the palace museum but I've never visited ningxia !! that is definitely on my family's list, haha
I wish I was there, eating with you. I’m obsessed with street food vendors in Taiwan! I binge videos wishing I was there. It’s definitely a bucket list for me. Great vlog, thank you Inga.
I went to Taiwan for the first time this year and also got SO excited over all that salt and pepper squid for like 4 usd haha I often had a lot of decision paralysis when picking things, but really hope to go back for more one day
Was in Taiwan in October and I enjoyed the night markets in Kenton (kenting) and Kaohsiung and the fresh guava every day I miss it and it's only been a month since my visit
Fun fact, when you order food from the plastic menus like that, we write the amount we want using the stroke order for 正 so starting with an 一 and for 5 orders of something we write 正, and then repeat ❤ Love you Inga 🎉
nice video promoting local street food . more videos like in this in near future . looks tasty and delicious hope to visit there someday and try your country street food .
I'm cutting right now, I'm not sure whether this video helps me live vicariously or tortures me... maybe both. 😅 Love these sorts of videos Inga! Thank you
so excited you did a vid of ningxia market, i usually see vids for raohe market which i've been to but i've always been curious about this 1, can't wait to go next month!
Went to Taiwan for the first time recently, only had 3 days there so wasn't able to go to every night market i wanted to. Thankfully, Shilin, Ximending, Jiufen, and Ruifeng all had a ton of my favorite street food and now I am addicted to Taiwanese popcorn chicken, among other things! Also learned of Sunny Hills through you guys on Worth It, so I took home box upon box of pineapple and banana cake, and was surprised to learn they offer coffee too, since I'm not big on tea (theirs was surprisingly not as bitter as most teas I've had though, so I was fine with it!)
Thanks for introducing the Taiwan night market. Currently I am in Taiwan Taipei. May you share where about is this night market selling all the yummies.
Noooo 😢 why would you remove the sweetest part of guava. 😂 I wish I turn into a cow with 4 stomachs everytime I'm back in Taiwan. Taiwan has the best food, and Yes, I'm biased. 😁
Great video, and also it's amazing that you got a sponsorship for it! Let them know we want more! :) Btw, it got my attention that you used paper money and coins - will I be in trouble if I try credit card and/or wechat?
When I was young… more than 20 years ago, we just normally put the powder on guavas only. However, in the past 20 years or so plum powder is put on on the top of many food… including popcorn chicken…
YASSSS papaya milk and avocado milk!!!!!! I hate that there are no good papayas here in the US, even though they're imported from South America. It's all because they have to be picked early, which gives it a bitter aftertaste
