Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for supporting my channel! It truly warms my heart to see all of your exciting comments letting me know that I was able to help you get hired! After numerous requests to create a document with all of my Teacher Interview Questions and Answers typed up, I want to let you know that it's done! If you're interested in getting a digital copy of my teaching questions and answers (as well as some prep tips and secrets from the OTHER side of the interview), you can grab a copy in my Etsy shop HERE: www.etsy.com/shop/ShopAmandaTeaches
Thank you so much for this incredible video. I had a 45 minute interview and 15 minutes later got the call to say I got the job. Your video has changed my life, thank you so so much for sharing this. Teaching jobs are so competitive and I was ready to give up. I still can't believe I have a permanent position as a new graduate/beginning teacher. Xo
Yesterday, my friend sent me this video. After watching it and taking notes, I felt much more prepared. I had my first two interviews today, and both schools offered me the position. I’m so happy your channel was recommended to me! I’m sharing this with every prospective teacher I know.
2 questions I got on my last interview that I fumbled badly: 1. What does professionalism mean to you? 2. With our district being so culturally diverse, how do you promote equity to close the achievement gap?
This comment will probably get lost but thank you so much for this video. In my interview, I was very well prepared. I knew what to answer and I got the job! I will be able to teach Spanish as a first year teacher! Thank you so much for this video!! ❤️🙏
I know this video is from a year ago but I watched it last night and this morning and I was hired on the spot during my interview today! thank you so much for sharing your experiences and tips!!!
YAY!! Congratulations, I'm so happy for you! The cool thing is that a lot of the questions are reused year over year and among different districts, states and even countries so the video can continue to help tons of people! Thanks for sharing, and congratulations again!
I was complimented on my interview this morning by the interviewers. I used some of your tips btw. Thank you for your help! You are very well spoken and I feel this video gave me the confidence to interview without any doubts!
Watched this video a few hours before my teacher interview. I previously had 5 unsuccessful ones which made me lose hope. This video definitely helped me land my first successful initial teacher interview. Thank you so much Amanda!
Wow, your video is great! I listened to it the night before my interview and it really helped me. I got the job on the spot. Thanks for taking the time to produce a video with quality advice and questions. :)
CONGRATS!!! How is it going? My interview is today. :) I will do my very best. I have to believe and keep believing I am going to end up where I should. Ummm...I have been saying that ALL of my life! One day...
Thanks for the video. I stumbled upon it yesterday so I practiced the interview questions and today I went to my school district's job fair and got offered a job!
I'm preparing for an interview as an English teacher in china. I searched RU-vid looking for interview techniques and I kid you not, THIS has given me the confidence I needed to ace my interviews. Thank you.
This video is one of the best I've seen on the subject. So much of this should be common sense if you sit down and think about it from the employer's perspective, and yet it's not because people often think the goal is to show them who you are as a person as opposed to who you are as an educator.
@AmandaTeaches This is such a helpful and informative video! I was a little confused at 24:18, I think there was a transition missing here. You shifted from talking about interests outside of the classroom to talking about how to handle a difficult student. I was able to understand, anyway so no worries, I just wanted to let you know so that you were aware. Your talents as an educator and creator are very clear and now you're continuing to educate other teachers, which is great! Thanks for the video, fantastic job!
Hi Sophia! Thanks, this video is a couple of years old so many people have brought it up but Im unable to change anything once it's posted so unfortunately its just stuck like that. I wish I could fix it without having to take it down and re-upload, it would be so helpful! I love when people bring it up though because it tells me how much people are studying it and how important the information is! It has helped soooo many people get jobs as teachers and I'm so happy! Thanks so much for watching and I'm so glad I could help!
Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you tried - Schallingora Information Investigation Scheme (google it)? It is a great one off guide for learning what you need to say to get hired in a job interview without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend Sam finally got astronomical success with it. ✔️
I've scored an ESL teaching interview, and I have that interview in an hour. I have been watching your videos lots of times to prepare myself up. Thank you for your dedication and help!
Thank you so much for this video!! I have been teaching for 3 years and still have had the hardest time interviewing for a new job this summer. I watched your video the night before an interview last week, took notes, and then was offered the job on the spot!! Thank you for such helpful tips!
I found this video a couple days before a job interview for my dream position! I watched it multiple times and took notes along the way! I also told other teacher friends about this video & talked with them about what was said in the video. My friend & I were offered positions back to back this week. Your advice & information was concise & helped me to organize my thoughts clearly. Great video! :)
I'm so going to study this during the weekend. I have a few interviews next week as a paraprofessional and I so want that position. I love the location and the school is really well structure and friendly. I had worked there as a substitute teacher back in 2011 -2012, but now I want a full time position. I love how they treat the students with disabilities and how flexible the staff is with them.
I am applying in the USA as an Arts Teacher. Thank you for this, a big help to me and to all of us and by the way you are so pretty. Love from the Philippines
THANK YOU for creating this! I cannot remember the questions after I’ve had the interview to prepare for future interviews and this is exactly what is being asked. I’m also a California teacher, and I always see interviews for other states and the questions are worded differently. Thanks again!!
Youre SO welcome Cristina! I'm so glad I could help!! Thank you so much for leaving a sweet comment too, it really means a lot to get the support from so many people!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! These questions and how thoroughly you go through answering them 100% helped me secure my first teaching position. I am so very grateful!
Hello, Amanda! I just want to take the time out to say thank you so much for this video! I had watched your video the night before my interview and a few times the day of the interview and it really helped me prepare for my first teaching interview (along with some prayers of course)! I was blessed enough to get hired the very same day as my interview! Thank you so very much and God bless!!!
I love the word, accountability. I hold each child accountable for their own actions. A lot of very important information! Keep in contact with parents! This is important. Many different ways to send a message whether good or bad news.
Thank you, Amanda. I went for a teaching job interview awhile ago. All of your questions and answers worked so good for me. I was asked all of these questions and I believe I dis well! Fingers crossed! You are so good a public speaking.
I am yet another person who was hired on the spot for the teaching job I was after, thanks to watching your wonderful and very thorough video for preparation!! Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us!!
As a veteran teacher, these responses to interview questions have helped me. I have an interview tomorrow and I'm praying that I ace it with this information. Thank you!!
Thank you for this video. I have only had 2 interviews in 20 years and I am moving from Elementary to High School so I was really nervous about this interview. This video is really helpful. Thanks again!
Aww yay! You are so sweet! When I was going to interviews, I searched and searched for good videos to help, but there were so many that were so vague! I wanted to make sure my viewers had the BEST interview video to help them! literally ALL of these questions were in my interview, and thats how I got the job I have now! So glad I could help!!
Great video. I'm also a CSUF graduate of English. I've been teaching for about 20 years and your video has been very useful now that I am seeking a high school teaching job. I've taught mostly at community colleges and a university abroad and, it's quite different from what they require in K-12. For example, I've had little experience with parent communication, bad student behavior, etc. This has helped a lot. Thanks.
I listened to this video and omg it was the most helpful video I could find on this topic! Thank you so much it helped me to be so much more confident going into the interview and I was offered the job ON the spot!! 🎉
You sound like an amazing teacher! I am a homeschool mama but I found you from the school hauls and have been watching all your videos ! Keep up the amazing work !!
Hi amanda! Should I watched this video of yours before my interview I could have given then brilliant answers. Almost all questions they asked are in your video. And I absoluyely agree on all of your tips. For me you are amazing.
I have an interview tomorrow morning for an Secondary English Teacher position. I just took notes and watched your whole video! Thank you for being so informative!!
Hi, I have my interview tomorrow and this video is like a blessing to me. It is exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for the effort you have put in this video it helped me a lot to prepare myself. I can definitely say that you are a perfect teacher.
I wish I had found your video last Thursday I could have practice for a interview a school offered me this week, instead I past the online interview up because I didn't want my first impression to be horrible....I will study your tips and I thank you so much for posting this youtube video on interviewing as a teacher.....God Bless You! You are preparing a lot of people for a bright future.. Thanks
After watching this video ~3 times & taking notes, I was hired on the spot! Approximately 7 of these questions were asked & they were the ones (before watching this video) I was the least confident about answering. I’ve never been so confident in my answers in an interview before! The administration was so impressed by my knowledge & research I had done to prepare ❤️
Dear Amanda, thank you so much for your thoughts and advices! Your video helped me to realise what I did wrong in previous job interviews and which points I need to improve. It also motivated me to develop ideas in how to become a better teacher. Thank you so much!
Hi Amanda, this was a very helpful video. Fellow CSUF credential program graduate here. Your examples for each response help to understand how to answer the questions effectively. I found especially valuable your response on how to deal with behavior issues. Thanks!
Aww yay! I just walked for my Masters graduation ceremony in May!! Maybe we were there graduating the same day, just different parts of the school!! How cool! ❤️❤️
Watched this a couple of times! I have a job interview tomorrow and am very hopeful now with all the tips you’ve given. Thank you so, so much for sparing some of your time to give us, new teachers, some insights on what to expect in an interview. Wish me luck!
Let me tell you something. This is the best interview I have ever had in my life.Let me tell you why. Most teacher interviewer's videos never put in their consideration that some of non-Native English teachers are listening and they also want to get help from their videos for their teacher interviews so they don't seem to me they are making these videos for global reason. But from your first question"tell me about your self" and how you answer it crystal clear felt This the one I am looking for now.
Great job 👍 Thank you. I would also add here questions about assessments, lesson plans for successful lessons, bullying, and our own philosophy of education.
Thank you so much Amanda. Your video helped me a lot, not only for the interview also for the real teaching. I can feel that you are professional and your answers are well prepared from your own experience. Thank you so much for sharing it to public. I can quite get the benefit from watching your video. 😍😍
Nice job - You have a very realistic and nice approach to explaining the classroom situations --- Kudos to You...I'd want my children in your class....:)
Amanda, thank you for your video. I started working on my secondary education but didn't finish due a family illness. I was one class and my final student teaching assignment away. I continued in my career in high finance but due to the pandemic affect on my job status I wanted to pursue my original dream of teaching at the secondary level. Your video was extremely helpful and appreciate you posting the video on interview questions associated with teaching interviews for substitute teaching. Ty Tom Rickard
Thank you so much for sharing your video and questions! I watched your video in preparation for an interview I had earlier this week and I was asked a lot of these questions. I answered them with confidence and I got a call back yesterday and was offered the job! 🙌
Amanda!!! Thank you so so much for this helpful video. I used to be so scared of interviews. After watching your video, I became so confident! I had an interview today and it went awesome! Pray I get the job 😊❤️🙏🏼
YAYY!! That makes me so happy Haley!! You got this girl!! I'm so glad I could help! Honestly I posted this video so long ago and it has been so amazing seeing how many people I have been able to help! So happy I was able to help you too!!

I watched your video before my interview and it was SO HELPFUL! I talked about the 7-7-7 strategy you talked about in the video. They gave me a call back that day!! Thank you for these wonderful tips!!
Wow, this video is thorough 💯. I can tell you're an effective teacher because this video taught me a lot. I'm actually doing student teaching next week after taking an EPI class. I hatdly even remember half the stuff I learned but this video refreshed my memory.
This is an AMAZING video. Thank you so much for taking your time to share your expertise with us. I have watched several videos on this topic - yours is the best and most comprehensive without being too verbose. ~Jennifer
If you are ever in the Chicago area I would gladly buy you dinner for all you done. You have been a blessing to me. Hope you and your family are safe and healthy.
Really helpful, I’m not a new teacher but I’m transitioning into a new school and felt really rusty! I definitely feel prepared with the questions. Thank you
I watched this video for my interview, which I passed. The questions in this video were quite relevant to my interview. I am really thankful for the assistance.
I'm really impressed about this. It has given me hope and is preparing me well for my forthcoming interview. You are so good at public speaking. God bless you!
