There are news that the buff of new relic got cut in the latest pre-released version, which makes many people unhappy and hesitate on whether to pull for her or not
That set gives her split scaling to your team. Meaning yes she has niche uses if you really need to break a. Fire shield but otherwise she is basically just buffing your other dps units with her follow up attacks so now you have to compare her with supports who buff damage: bronya tingyun, maybe asta for a Seele. With this considered your team won’t be outputting more damage it’s just spread between more characters. If she had more combat utility I think she would be a lot stronger.
if anyone going for her and didnt check out leak, you can save your stamina for next update. we get new relic set that buff specifically follow up dmg. better spend the rest for farming salsotto or upgrading her traces while waiting for next update
Yes! I know mentioning leaks is a no go for sponsored content creators but this would be incredibly helpful to know. Just add a bit more emphasis on "no CURRENTLY AVAILABLE set is great on her but MAYBE there will be one in the future". I can only imagine someone spending all their saved up fuel on the fire set and then seeing them announce the follow up buffing set in the next live stream ...
@@snappishorc6656 i only put a placeholder set on her rn that have crit and crit dmg subs but no active set buffs. her dmg might not be that good now but im willing to wait
I see topaz like kafka, kafka as dot enabler and topaz as follow up attack enabler. Both have great potentials in the future as many potential dot and follow up attack focused characters will be released soon
Topaz's reliance on follow-ups isn't quite the same as Kafka being DoT-focused, since follow-ups don't have a clear benefit in the game right now besides splitting your damage across multiple attacks. DoT bypasses shields, so that specific niche actually has a clear benefit, especially if shields ever become more common on enemies. Kafka basically comes with free piercing damage...and she also gets follow-up attacks every rotation, on command, no management needed.
@ZeroX02c i think they flubbed the game release making follow-ups be mostly aoe. if there's more blast follow up with better implemented mechanics then there wouldn't be such disdain towards follow up rn except for clara and maybe jy
The problem with himeko is that her follow ups won't trigger very often to capitalize on the follow up attack debuff Topaz has. I still think it's not a terrible idea to run her with himeko though.
I think the reason she feels a little weak is because they are yet to release the follow up attack relic set that is actually really good. Once that set comes out, it’s almost certain to bring follow up attackers like topaz and especially jing yuan up to the top, especially when combined together with topaz’s follow up attack bonus.
I think it comes down to play style preference. Destruction characters are supposed to be jack of all trades or flexible slots. So sometimes I feel they’re kind of cumbersome to use unlike the follow up characters play style where I can chill and auto.
I got her because she's cute and has a pet and also my main is Clara so it made sense. I skipped Jingliu for her and I'm so far not regretting it. You don't need the best characters in the game to clear MoC anyway.
7:10 Something here doesn't add up. If Topaz has her ultimate charged, that's the first thing you should use in a battle. Her Technique states Topaz gets 60 energy when Numby attacks *for the first time.* If you delay this, Numby may attack before and the 60 extra energy is lost.

Ended up getting her at 30 while pulling for milk powder, honestly I would've been happy to get her but I didn't think I'd get her that quickly. Still no milk powder and I'm gonna have to stop soon so I have some pulls saved up for next banner, but considering E1 Topaz is apparently good then I won't mind pulling Topaz again until I get milk powder either! Anything to justify my gamba addiction.
I pulled her right way regardless of her being strong or not because she's SO DAMN THICC!! God what a blessing to my eyes to see her every day in my team

The flow of your speech may sound weird as you have to suddenly change the tone, but great effort for example distinguishing between景Yuan and 鏡Liu 😊
Got her, very pleased 😊 I assume she's going to deal more damage when we get new FUA boosting relics next patch (which is why I din't even start building her relic set just yet). I personally adore the quirky playstyle as well as flexibility of her kit and how she makes some old characters fun all anew.
She's not available for me yet, but I'm really excited to get her in about 11 hours! Thanks for the awesome guide! P.S.- The title card before you went into your opinion on Topaz and Numby said "Topaz's Teammates". I use Clara, Natasha, March and Topaz. This is for harder content where you receive lots of dmg. I know that Asta boosts Topaz dmg but she is Hunt path. She lacks aoe. This is where Clara comes. She is tank, dmg, aoe and follow up attack. Clara and March increase Numby dmg significantly. At end you get more dmg output then with Asta. Ofc different situations requires different dmg types but this setup is good for Simulated Universe.
After using her E0 S1 for a while I can tell you she's not a strong Hypercarry. Her damage is mid and inconsistent. You have been warned. Skip her if you are waiting/looking for a strong DPS especially if you are a ftp unlike me. Only pull for her if all you care is her thick meats.
I'm having alot of fun using topaz with himeko ^^ I was a himeko main for a long while, but she was just outclassed by all the others, sadness. But she's fun again with topaz! When I get non ass relics for lynx I might use Asta in that team instead of fu xuan, but topaz, himeko, SW, and fu xuan just map
I feel so happy that my broken set build does the same amount of dmg as this build. That being said the sets crit stats are kind of brusted. Only 2 pieces are lack luster and having 70/160 split is kind of nice. Using Sword Play myself. Stellar Sea doesnt do as much dmg and only rivals Sword Play when you get kills consistently. Also i am at talent lvl 7 and have her basic maxed. Just need to farm some more materials Edit: My team is Topaz, Jing Yuan, Fu Xuan, and Clara. It works very well.
After finishing the Xianzhou story, i used all of my saved jaades and tickwts to warp, i got her on 50 pulls and for some reason, got E1 welt, Bronya and Yanqui on the new player banner.
10:23 I have a question about this table. If I manage to build a 100% crit rate Topaz, does that mean I don't really need the buff from Sleep Like the Dead so It will outperform Swordplay?
If she would just buff follow up attack in general, she would have been much better, but only making one enemy vulnerable to it is meh. As a unit she can be overlooked for now and easily skipped to see how she holds.
I'm passing on Numby but I wanted Guinaifen so decided to just roll on Seele's banner since worst case I get her E1 (plus I still love using Seele.) 40 pulls in, I get Gep's E1 and no Guinaifen. Gotta love it. 😂
06:50 can someone elaborate this? why should i use ultimate only after Topaz' turn? and does she really have low base attack? My Topaz and Swordplay LC are both lv 80, with decent relics. And yet she only have 2.2k atk. Or are hunt characters in general have low base atk??
1. I also don't understand that tip as well.. Wouldn't you lose some energy if you use Topaz' turn before her ult? I think what he meant was to use use her ult after NUMBY's turn cuz Numby doesn't give energy anyway and basically not waste a Numby turn because her ult lets Numby advance on any attacks including ally ults. (Ofc if Numby's about to take action after Topaz anyway, just use ult->skill->followUp->followUp or Ult->normal->followUp->2x Ally attacks->followUp) Either way, you don't really lose too much if you don't do the "max efficiency" rotation tbh 2. Her Base Atk isn't too low (lower than Seele by 20 points) but I think the reason you're seeing lower numbers is because Topaz has no ATK% traces but has Fire DMG% instead. That's why in the video, he specifically mentioned that ATK% substats are pretty good on her.
Because if you user her ultimate on her turn or before her turn, Topaz will hit one enemy and consume one ultimate stack, but Topaz doesn't need this stack to activate numby, while all team mates with no extra attacks need it. Basically, if you use it after her turn, you will get 1 numby by Topaz + 2 numby by other allies. If you don't, you will get 1 numby by Topaz + 1 numby by other allies.
I had no pity after losing jing liu 50/50 and thought I'd try getting the new 4 star, but mihoyo suddenly felt generous enough to give me topaz.. Would Clara Gepard and Lynx work well with her?
Im still thinking on getting her. I have Jing yuan and IL Dan Heng which i will use in two separate team. Then where should I put her, Since Imbibitor Lunae is skill point consuming.
My JY need solo target sub DPS and Topaz is my choice. She can do great solo damage and can buff Lightning Lord. My team will be Fu Xuan, JY, Tingyun, and Topaz.
@@malificajones7674 I only got her now because i already got jingliu+her lc, so i dont need any dps, and i can easily save for characters with follow up attacks ^^
