All wings have their plusses and minuses depending on the mission (maneuvering, setting up/lifting, fitting in hangers, landing fields, cross country verses off field, cost, etc…) I fly and represent most major manufacturers and do not generally favor one over another. However, generically I like the strutted/topless because they look better and fit into hangers easier.
It is a blast to do but it is risky unless you have the experience and know HOW to do it. this takes thousands of hours in a trike flying in challenging conditions. Glad I could let you virtually experience my passion. Paul
great video Paul. soon i will take my full NPPL rating here in the UK www.bmaa.org/index.php at Perth airport www.scottishmfc.co.uk/ i'm so looking forward to it : ) as rioutousgnome1 has mentioned, we in the UK have slightly stricter regulations about low flying? as others have mentioned your commentary is superb, i agree 100% and well done. kind regards Jim, Dundee, Scotland.
Modern light sport aircraft now have incredibly reliable AIRCRAFT engines. Just lake any single engine airplane there is the risk of an engine failure. Thousands of airplanes fly over dense cities, forests and water every day and they all hope not to have an engine failure. I feel at greater risk in a car where someone else can hit me and I have no control of this.
Paul Hamilton Expect the best but plan for the worst. Flying that low w/o any reachable landing Spot while being equipped with sunglasses instead of a helmet is calling for trouble. It's a matter of time. I've seen it all. I had Engine failures with Single, multiple and even turbine Engines. What can go wrong goes wrong.
Yes Jens I am fully aware of the risks in living itself and it is up to all of us to evaluate these risks. Yes I have been rear ended in a car three times now and I feel driving is much more dangerous that flying. However I have to drive to live my life so I take those risks.
