it may be because many people see rabbits as pets nowadays and that horse meat isn't really eaten by everybody, since most areas of the world see horses as work animals and not food material.

@@0Dawn_of_Time0 Correction: Not many people, just North Americans. LOTS of countries eat rabbit AND horse. Many countries will retire a beast of burden to the dinner table rather than waste good meat. They may not be happy about it, if they are really upset about it they sell it to someone who doesn't have an emotion al attachment to it. More often than not, an owner of a horse, camel, mule, goat, ect. will go out of their way NOT to form an emotional attachment because it will be food when it is no longer useful. Just because urban & suburban westerners won't eat something they see as cute doesn't mean the rest of the world feels the same way. Especially since there are more people in the world who don't have a Whole Foods within 30 minutes drive to buy vegetables dressed up to look like meat.

@@ryanmartin4602 It's not just North Americans, it is also unheard of in Brazil, Poland, Israel, and among the Romani people and Jewish people over the world and horse meat is not generally eaten in Spain. Also, in the United Kingdom and Ireland, there has historically been a strong cultural aversion to eating it. Same thing with most english speaking parts of Canada. So no, it isn't just North Americans, and yes in many places on earth it is considered taboo to eat horse meat. Also even if a place has a slaughter camp for horses such as Australia and Russia, the horse meat isn't eaten and instead is used to make dog food and other products like pig feed and glue.

@@ryanmartin4602 Also for many of the places that do use horse meat generally to eat, do in fact have places to buy it, including local grocery stores that are similar to whole foods, and im talking about Poland and Italy. Which it is used as sausages and can be grilled or baked. I know many people do eat horse, but also, many people don't as they find it gamey and bitter, sometimes it even is watery like gator. It's not just about how cute the animal is, its how useful it is nutritional wise as it can be effected with harmful drugs when imported from far places before being slaughtered, even regular shops in China or India can have infected horse meat.
