Wow that's amazing & a good peace of mind 💯 it really does look smart too so that's a plus, Lynn I'm so happy you feel safer 🤗 you both will secure & safe & sleep soundly 🙏🏼 absolutely awesome vlog guys 🌹🔥❣️🤗🙏🏼 xx
Friend of mine just had a windscreen replaced on the school bus he drives. They took the old screen out then realised the the replacement was wrong (right shape but did not have the correct bits on it for sensors etc). They can't fit for about a week. Make sure when you get yours replaced the fitters make sure they have the right replacement before they start.
We have done a couple of off grids lately (welcome break services) so perfect for this kind of thing as you say peace of mind! Great video as usual both ❤
Thanks for the video on the alarm, what a product i remember watching it and seeing the dragons den fail to invest, what a clanger on their part. I have a caravan and will be fitting one over the door. Brilliant.
Top product, will deffo be getting one ,we do alot of pubstops at the moment all we have is a ring doorbell (mainly for the camera which I would recommend) but this would back it up immensely. Thanks guys, bbrrrrrrriliant. Stay safe x👍
Than you guys for another very interesting VLOG, it has certainly given me food for thought. I, personally, am not too intimidated by parking up off grid but I can certainly understand why ladies are more cautious. I shall give it more thought before I start more motorhome travels next year.
@@neilmason1394 hi and thank you for your positive feedback back, to us it’s just peace of mind, you never know who is messing around and with just a touch of the van gives them a two second warning, for the cost to us it’s a no brainer to feel safe Take care
Hi Rob, Lynn and Mavis.. Lynn I hope your nose bleed thingy is ok, yes please get it checked 😊 What an awesome product and as you said, you now have peace of mind, which is worth anything 💕 Thank you for sharing , your video will be of such great use to so many. Take care, lots of love ❌❌🌟🌟🌟
Hi Vicki Lynn is having her hair done so you are stuck with me 😂 yes it’s a fantastic product alarm we are over the moon with it and as you say it will benefit lots of people x
@@RobandLynnontour Aww bless that’s great Lynn’s having her hair done. She deserves that. I’m lucky to be stuck with you. Hope you all have a “ Brilliant “ weekend 💕💕❌❌
Hi both, great vlog and a fantastic product from what I’ve seen, on another note keep us posted on your cracked windscreen, we’ve got the same problem on our Swift Bessacar 597, I do have a contact via Salop Leisure who will come out to your storage location if you need it, thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, and thank you. It’s an Awesome product, We still haven’t had it fixed 🙈 we just haven’t had time this week Thank you for that information ☺️☺️
We have just seen your vlog and are going to look into it for our caravan as we have a barn door on it. Throughly enjoyed this vlog. Barry, Kate, Sonny, Bella & Parsley (our 3 dogs) who say hello to Mavis
Excellent product, we will be getting a bundle of these for our camper. Also after watching your review of the EcoFlow alternator charger, we purchased and fitted one and brought a EcoFlow powerbank. We used it for a four night tour off grid. Brilliant piece of kit. Game changer. Cheers Carl & Sue.
@carlbailey4517 honours an amazing product, we are simply blown away with it, I now feel 100% safe to camp off grid, and to leave the van to explore The ecoflow alternator charger is also a game changer, we can now go off grid without worrying about power like you, then simply charge it up on the way home Perfect 🤩
@RobandLynnontour Hiya, we have just emailed them to fund out the cost, we actually need the same number of alarms along with the internal switch as you guys, we do have e-bikes on the back .. ☺️
I’ve got a very simple theft deterrent I installed on or Swift Bessacarr 599 (the 2019 version of your Kon Tiki) it’s an adaption of an idea I saw someone else use. I bought an Oxford Patriot disc lock for a motor bike. I fully swivelled the drivers seat to face the rear, then enlarged an existing hole in the top of the drivers seat base. The disc lock pin which is 12mm diameter hardened steel then comes up through the hole from underneath and the body of the lock goes onto the top. As a temporary measure I’ve used two large washers inside the seat base to space the pin out a bit to stop the body of the tilting. Once this lock is in place it’s impossible to turn the seat back to face the front. It’s also impossible to get a grinder in to cut the pin, and if they decided to cut the top of the seat base it would make a horrendous amount of noise. I certainly wouldn’t be able to drive the van away with the seat backwards. It’s the sort of security thing that might make them go to find an easier one to steal! I’d send some photos if RU-vid comments allowed it. The lock was about £30 I think, the two washers were about 50P and the hole was free. When I can get round to it I am going to make a proper backing plate to get rid of the two washers and increase the thickness of the seat base top over a bigger area. I had a bit of a step forward the other day when I found a piece of 3mm steel plate I had kicking round in the garage to make it from. I might have to have a go at making my own RU-vid video to explain it better.
Hi, and yes we’ve got exactly the same thing installed on our seats and it’s awesome, so we feel that no one can penetrate the cab area which is great…. But, this alarm will activate if anyone even touches the van with the intent of breaking in or messing with anything attached to the van, it gives us total peace of mind whenever at wherever we are parked
@@RobandLynnontour Every little bit of protection you add is a bit more deterrent and the thieving s**mbags will leave your stuff alone. The only question I have is once the alarms are activated do they detect you moving about inside the van and go off? Good bit of gear though.
Great video/ product but wonder if it could also be sensitive to movements made by occupants inside the van / knocking into or behind the scanned area for instance (after a few beers!).
@@MartinBarber-e2s hi Martin, it definitely isn’t sensitive to movements in the van, but yes if you do knock the area where the alarms are fitted you will activate a two second warning. We will do a video update soon to show you how it’s working for us and what we think of it so far
Hi Kim, it is a fantastic idea, changing the batteries is pretty easy to do, and it’s only AAA batteries I think they will last longer than three months but will keep you updated
Hi great product can the volume be turned down slightly when setting the alarm, I sleep on a lot of French Aires and it does seem loud when setting, specially if you set the alarm at 10 or 11 at night before settling down for the night or turning up late on the Aires or car park,
Hi and I don’t think so but it was inside and therefore louder, We have just tried it out where we are and it wasn’t noisy at all to set it and to disarm it
Great vlog, thank you for showing us how to fit it. Looks and sounds amazing, will be looking into this, like you said we could buy a bit at a time. Question - Do you turn it off if you have to go out in the middle of the night to take a dog out, before you open the door from the inside because you do touch the outside as you get out. Thanks again for vlog😊
Hi Amanda, thank you, it is a really amazing product which as you say you can add to, The answer is yes, you would have to deactivate it before you open the door, but it’s simple, it’s just the same as a car alarm, one press of a button Take care ☺️☺️
Use masking tape first to give you a level line to follow ... The worrying side to having to pull these adhesive pads off is possible damage to the gelcoat or even pulling out aluminium skin from its sandwich wall bond ... Would also be great if it could send you a sms text alert for when your away from the van or it's in storage.
Very impressed! I wonder about possible False Alarms on very Windy days?? My Tracker has a Vibration setting and on Windy days sometimes my Van sends me a Text! Very interested in one!
Hi Peter it’s a great bit of kit we are very happy with it, when we had it fitted we did a test rocking the van it didn’t go off it will only go off with someone touching it from outside 👍
My nose started bleeding 2+ years ago, finally they kept me in hospital, to sort out what the problem was. They found out that it was hi blood pressure, caused by alcohol. And I've had my nose coterised 2 years on the spin. And I've been put on blood pressure tabs, and stopped drinking alcohol, and bad food. Lost 7 stone. Changed my life for the good.
@@RobandLynnontour yes better to get it looked into, because they said it was a warning to me, they said it could have been a heart attack or a stroke. Scary
Had the heating on to high lol 😝 and your windscreen is cracking me up, be careful though, as if you have another stone/rock hit it, it will splinter all over the place 🙏 Regards Simon - Cannock . . .
Cho and yes it’s bloody awesome, we are so excited about this alarm, and couldn’t wait to show it off, Hmm maybe if you knock it on a specific place, but the general rocking of the van won’t
Looks very good but what's it going to be like in high wind and debri hitting the van?along with heavy rain or hail ? Perhaps you can do a follow up during some bad weather? If it passes the rob and lyn test I will be getting a set ❤❤
Hi, well, we wouldn’t be somewhere where there is flying debris, but, you can adjust the sensitivity if there is strong winds, don’t worry we will definitely be trialing it out in all weathers 😞☺️
@@RobandLynnontour when I say debris just mean leaves, paper bags etc when testing the engineer only touched the van to set it off ,but as you said it may be programmable 🥰🥰
This system looks good, however I have a few questions. Do the alarms go off only when the van is touched? Would it go off if somebody walked really close to the van? Because some of these aires in Europe can be a bit snug! And also does the alarm keep going if someone activated it? Or is it more like a warning so a a Would be theif would scarper. The other thing is if you set the alarm when you've had a bit of a late night on the sauce and go to bed say 11pm you might wake up your neighbours with the arming of it! Won't make you very popular with fellow campers. But saying that a great idea.
Hi and yes, it will only go off if the van is touched. It first gives a two second warning alarm. Then if it’s touched again within 10 seconds it will give a 30 second alarm. The setting of the alarm is just like arming a car alarm Hope that helps
Hi Both, have you had a gas sensor fitted, my mate and his wife got gassed when sleeping on a service area in France there van was looted credit cards the lot.
@@RobandLynnontour They Never heard a thing the thieves had climbed in through a window whilst my mate was out cold, police told them it was a common occurrence, seems they pumped the gas in through a low vent
@@lenbyrne2148surely the carbon monoxide alarm would go off? I’ve also got friends who woke up with robbers in their van from being gassed in France but it’s usually in the motorway aires.
Great product, if you think a electric bike costs over a thousand pounds, plus all the other equipment, it's worth every penny, just don't get Rob to fit it 😅.kidding.
Go and yes or really is, it really does make sense, at the end of the day these thieves want to be silent when they try and take our belongings, this totally eliminates this
Hi and yes, it’s absolutely amazing, it was honestly our pleasure to showcase this amazing product With their warranty and customer service it’s outstanding
We saw Mike on Dragons Den and went out and bought a set for our Transit custom campervan, we sold the van and straight away ordered another set for our Consort Reef, absulutley brillaint idea. Spoke to Mike on the phone for about an hour due to a glitch in ordering, a truley lovely bloke. Tried to get Scot at Consort to offer a deal with them ( they are about 3 miles away from Consort Motorhomes ) but don't think Scot was interested, not sure why as they are a brilliant idea. Did not know they did the interior switch, so will be in touch with Mike to order one of them. Great video and Vanguardian, a brilliant company, definately worth the investment. Cheers guys and take care, Trev Debz and Tyler x x
Hi both, it’s definitely a fantastic investment, anything that secures our investment. Mike is a real gentleman and is passionate about the product as are we. The internal switch is definitely a positive for more piece of mind and gives added security I can’t understand why any company would turn this product down, it’s definitely a game changer to motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and any other or vans, the limits are endless
That’s very true most vans have sensors inside , the only trouble is the damage will already be done, with this idea as soon as anyone touches the van hopefully they will be scared away before they corse any damage 👍thanks for your comment we hope you enjoy the video 👍
WOW, thanks for this. We enjoy a lot of 'Wild Camping' and despite our van being much older than yours, like you say it's what you carry in the van. Laptops, Phones, T.V., Projectors and personal belongings. We have never worried about camping wild, but I always worry about leaving 'Pippin' in a public car park whilst visiting a city. The van may be still be there when we return but I always fear about it being broken into. These Motorhomes are our homes away from home on wheels and should be respected as such. Thankfully, we have never experienced such horrors and hope we never do xx
Hi both, hope you are both well, it’s always a worry when we leave the van, but now we will definitely feel better, thrives don’t want to bring attention to themselves so they should leave ours alone now Take care both xx
Evening Guys, What a fantastic informative vlog and great bit of kit. Is it motion sensitive or is it a tamper sensor ?. Defo thinking about it for the caravan, but I'm worried if the van rock's in the wind, it could activate it. Could Lynn not a have a panic button at her side too 😊. Take care and defo keep safe now. Paul and Joanne 👍 😍
Hi both, and thank you, It really is awesome, I feel so much safer now, it’s tamper sensitive so even if you are “rocking the van “ it won’t go off, it’s only on the outside. The wind won’t activate it, and you can turn the sensitivity up and down, I could have one fitted my side, but knowing what I’m like I’d be pressing it all the time 😂😂🙈 Take care both ☺️☺️
Great video and product, I would suggest if you’re not very confident with lining the unit up level, then use a strip of masking tape first until you are happy with the level.
