This is quite complicated lmao. Basically, when you use an ability (Skills or Bursts), there are 2 ways the ability can calculate its damage: Dynamic or Snapshot. If an ability is Dynamic, this means that it deals damage based on whatever the character's current stats are, such examples Yae Miko's turrets or Raiden's Burst. In both of those abilities' cases, let's say you used Sara's E to buff them, once Sara's E's duration runs out, the damage will fall off since the buff has run out. In the case of Snapshotting abilities, the damage is calculated based on what the character's stats were at the point of casting and lasts throughout the entirety of its duration. In this video's case, Xiangling's Pyronado is a snapshotting ability. If you apply buffs to Xiangling, such as Kazuha's A4 or Bennett's Atk buff, and cast Pyronado while those buffs are active, Pyronado will continue to do the same amount of damage as when she had the buffs even after they expire. But in the same manner, applying any more buffs during a snapshotting ability's duration will not increase its damage either. Snapshotting abilities therefore are incentivised to have buffs applied to the character before casting to ensure the highest damage possible. Examples of which being Ayaka's Burst, Klee's Skill, Xiangling's Burst, Kazuha's Burst just to name a few. forget all that technical geek bs. let's say you put bennets burst down then you pop your xingling burst on top of bennets circle to buff it then bennets circle expires and you still have your xingling burst buffed that means that her burst can snapshot. now lets say when bennet burst burst buff expires it also removes the buff from your xinglings burst, then that would mean it doesn't snapshot, plain and simple

i prefer using dragon bane as it helps with em, i have a lvl 80 xianling with 800em it deals like 13-14k damage in overload and like 20k with burgeon and it will increase further as i upgrade xianling to 90 dragon bane from 70 to 90 and after getting golden em artifacts
Tbh I love Xiangling and I got Raiden's weapon by accident cause I wanted to get Ayato's some time ago. I don't plan on pulling for Raiden BUT even if I had Raiden, I would still have Xiangling with Engulfing Lighting, it fits her somehow lol
lol i got raiden c2 r1 triple crowned n ngl shes been benched for a while I love her character but getting her fro her debut banner grown tired of playing her n her teams used her for hyperbloom for a bit but as soon as I got kuki I replaced her in that team too lol only ever pull her out for certain floor 12 and even then if I need the dps I prefer ayaka or hutao or even kazuha national lol
@@Leon玲央 raidens a great charater dont get me wrong both are great in there respective teams and on of those teams are them together cant compare them as they're kits provide different things I play xiangling more only because I get more out of her in my highest dps team that I use every abyss, childe international, I get up to 90k pyronado per hit and that can hit up tp 21 times if I do my rotation right, that way more sustained dps than what I get out of my raiden, The closest sustained dps if gotten from raiden is in hyperbloom with c2 nahida and I rather kuki over her for the comfort of being a healer and run my nahida and hydro unit on a more dmg focused build if u like raiden get her and build her sure I don't regret investing In her i just don't use her that much anymore, i think thats inevitable if u pull for every character,build them and have multiple team archetypes, if ur not pulling for meta just play whoever you love and even then don't sway too much to the meta if u don't enjoy a character kit, it's a game for fun so do what makes u happy

I've been neglecting her since 1.0 and made her stuck in Level 60 for so long. Kinda have nothing to do anymore so I guess I should at least build her proper if people say she is too good to miss out on. I had just farmed enough to level 9 all her talents (66 gold scrolls). I've been lacking in a Pyro applicator for too long anyways. Fighting events especially whenever against ice based mobs. I've been reliant on Electro for too long as jack of all trades. lol
About normal attack. Xiang Ling is 2nd best to kill shield by using C6 Ben total 7 hit (6 with cancel tec) right behind Zhongli total 8 Hit (7 hit cycle better) And, good Yun Jin synergy
The reason why I got this game in the first place and started playing it is because the very first promotional video I ever saw of this game was of this girl's character in playing in the demo and it looked very interesting and so this girl's character is the one that got me into it cuz that was the demo that they showed
You mentioned EM sands being a very niche option, which you don't recommend. (I assume the comparison is between Atk% Sands VS EM Sands) I would argue that most teams Xiangling is on also has Bennett. With Bennett's Atk Buff, I feel like using an Atk% Sands on Xiangling is redundant. And since most of her teams are going to be "National" variations, Xiangling is usually the one triggering some reactions (Vape, Overload, etc.). For these reasons, I believe an EM Sands is actually quite a good general option on Xiangling rather than a "very niche" option. One thing to consider though is that generally speaking, Atk% Sands will indeed be easier to farm simply due to EM main stats being so rare. It's more likely that one can get a better Atk% Sands more easily. However, if you do happen to get a great EM Sands, I don't see why Xiangling shouldn't use that on teams where she's triggering reactions (and since her Q has no ICD, She will trigger a Lot of reactions). So basically what I would say is: For teams where Xiangling proccs reactions (Vape, Overload, Melt, Burgeon) = EM Sands is great. For teams where she doesn't procc the reactions = Atk% Sands is better. (If you really, REALLY need the ER% and you can't get her Q off-cooldown, you could try ER% Sands. Your numbers will be smaller, but it's better to have smaller numbers with consistent Q, than bigger numbers and having to waste a lot of time funneling.)

What does he mean by "fish" for "The Catch"? Is it a gacha item, or is there a fishing minigame to score weapons? I'm back to Genshin after 2 years away, so pretty rusty.
It means exactly as you might think. There is an NPC in Inazuma that you can exchange specific fish for the Catch and its refinements. But when I say fish, I mean A LOT of fish. You'll be fishing for hours and hours for it
Here I am using her and Ben as a duo plus Lisa so apply that overload always switch between the traveler (anemo) and dyha as my main dps. And it be overkill but now that I see how to build xiangling and Ben it’s over lol
Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but is it worth to utilize Xiangling's atk speed by adding few normal attacks in the rotation to proc more xingqui rainswords?
Not really worth it. If you play both Xiangling and Xingqiu together, then she is probably focused on her Pyro damage, which means her NAs will do basically no damage. You are better off using your on field DPS who can actually do damage while also proccing Xingqiu's rain swords at the same time.

I’m finally trying a Childe international team and I have a question: Does she need a 1:2 crit ratio when using her for off field pyro application? My current build has plenty of ER and elemental mastery but the crit ratio is abysmal. I’ve kind of neglected her for the longest time because I thought she was overrated and her character in the story was generic at first. Now I’ve gotten over myself and started build her for the Fontaine characters.
A highly invested Childe international team needs a well built Xiangling. She contributes like 40% of the damage of that team lol. In single target scenarios, It's very likely for Childe to do less damage than her as well. You aren't using her in that team for her Pyro application, you're using her for damage and Childe's fast Hydro application is meant to keep up with helping her Vape Pyronado
60-70/130 is too much to ask for for non-crit mainstat weapons. The average player can't invest that hard into artifacts like that for a support while still reaching enough ER at the same time, literally not possible unless every piece god-rolls

I have the catch but my raiden is using it and also its the only polearm I have with an er stat as I dont have the luck to get fav lance 🤧
Proto Starglitter is a usable stat stick if you absolutely do not have any other ER weapon. It's passive is practically useless, but it can be a placeholder until you get a Fav Lance instead.
Kazuha is the main DPS in the team, hence I generally use him last. Additionally, dmg% buffs are not snapshottable, so whether I used Kazuha before or after makes very little difference as Xiangling will still catch kazuha's buffs regardless. Kazuha's C1 and C6 would both be a little wasted if I used him, then swapped to XL then swapped back to him again.
@@KeithJamesChua i just googled and kazuha elemental dmg bonus is snapdshotted. Im sure that every buff can be snapshotted except Shenhe and Yun Jin dmg bonuses
Ah my bad then. Either way, VV doesn't and I still generally wouldn't waste Kazuha's energy from C1 and damage from C6 considering he makes a a majority of the team damage. Would make the rotation too awkward to set up except in cases where I can have downtime to do so
I have question my xiangling is sitting on 1700 atk 59/175 crit with 195 ER and 175 em .i use the catch and i have homa My question is wouldn't using homa be downgrade? Bcz i will lose crit rate and Tons of ER
@@KeithJamesChua Why? I compared the stats and Skyward Spine looks like a 5* copy of The Catch. I do not have Raiden, but when I pull her, I am planning to give Raiden The Catch, and Xiangling will have Skyward Spine, why not?
You're better off going the other way around. Skyward Spine universally does less damage and scales worse with team buffs but at least with Raiden you can take advantage of the Atk Speed increase to alter her combo from N3CA×3 N1CA to N3CA×3 N2CA (which btw barely gets you any more damage. Iirc it's less than 5%. If you don't do this combo you end up with less damage) On Xiangling Spine performs much worse because the Atk Speed increase doesn't do anything and the lower ER makes it harder for Burst uptime and less dmg when using Emblem. Spine has less ER, nearly useless passive, and less crit which makes it arguably the worst 5 star weapon in the game and worse than the Catch

2pc sets are a bit copium on her. I considered including 2Pyro + 2atk/2Nob as an option but ultimately went against it because I felt they weren't really worth it except for those who are newer to the game. Emblem also is just too OP for so many characters to not farm for anyway
No, it sucks. It's EM substat means you NEED to play her with Vape or Melt for it to be worth it, and even in that case it's just worse than Dragons Bane. If you wanted ER, the Catch is just an all round better option as well
Hard to say as that depends on the team comp you were aiming for. Using Beidou or Fischl with XL means that's going to be an overload team of some sort, which generally isn't very good compared to a vape/melt comp due to its much lower damage potential. Again though, it depends on what you were trying to go for.
If you can get a bit more ER on the Homa build, it'll probably be okay to run that in a rational team. Also, crit rate on both builds are too low. Definitely will wanna bring it up eventually
Worst 5 star weapon in the game, useless passive, performs worse than The Catch which is a FREE weapon, almost no offensive or support utility for any character. Literally only Raiden can use it and even then it performs the same as the Catch if you do the right combo.
Itll work yeah, since you will proc vapes thanks to Xingqiu. But you will need to build a ton of energy recharge. Tbh Catch is just better, unless you are already using Catch on Raiden
