As a kid I used to record my favorite holiday specials on VHS and watch them with my family. Ever since I was around 19-20 I began collecting all my old favorites (as well as new specials and episodes I’ve come to love) and now for Halloween I have over 300 hours of content that I love to stream every year. It’s tradition! Glad to see others think the same way. I remember when I was first starting out with saving them on my computer I uploaded them online for others to enjoy and quickly learned about copyright law lol

Halloween was such fun back in the day. Everyone put on such a show. The media was just fantastic. I wish this era would come back. Also no one did a Halloween special like Roseanne! ❤️

I only knew Bobby's World existed because there was a Bobby's World themed foosball table at my local roller rink. I was about 12 going to that place, never saw anything else of it until just now. I'm 33. 21 years it has rested in my memory, it's weird to find out it's real.

I remember when Halloween used to be a big deal. Maybe it still is in some areas but in my area it's dead. I remember being so excited for Halloween. All October there'd be special cartoons and movies, marathons, fun commercials. My town used to also feature several kid friendly events as well. We barely even get trick or treaters. The scariest thing on cable TV (even on Halloween) is 90 Day Fiancé. It feels like Halloween is slowly disappearing. One of these days without even knowing when, we'll realize it's already gone.

I rarely see Trick or Treaters, and those are relegated to a few daylight hours. Unfortunately understandable as the percentage of fulltime monsters among us continues to rise.

I agree. I noticed this started towards the late 90s. Now this is all anecdotal, but In the neighborhood I grew up in - we went from having dozens of trick or treaters every Halloween - to one or two as the 90s came closer to an end. I think a lot of this had to with the rise of tech into our lives. It has slowly made us more insular, cynical and less social. In short: the internet has made us all jerks and Karens. The idea of playing dress up, opening the door to neighbors or strangers, and giving them something free - is becoming obsolete in mainstream life.

Starting in the early 70's, even before I was in kindergarten, my mother took me trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, which was brand new at the time. I had a bag like the one shown in the ad...a plastic bag with a witch on the front, a cat on her broom, in front of a haunted house. The bag closed with a 'click', the plastic handle did that. I had that same bag for years until in middle school I got one of the pumpkin plastic containers.

That was definitely Sam's origin... way back in 1996! That clip was the holy grail of underground scare videos back then... I never even got to see the entire thing, as this was before the internet was prevalent... and definitely WAY before we had it in our house!

The TV spot for Halloween II brings back such a great Halloween memory. Teenager with the family's first VCR and taping that TV airing which was preceded by the Hal Roach colorized version of Night of the Living Dead.
