Thank you for your great feedback. I guess, for me, paper based productivity is an obsession, or a hobby perhaps, but I certainly like to look at each small process in my day, and find ways to improve those processes if I can. It's the amalgamation of marginal gains that can make a bike difference in life.

@@Flatability i wondered if you know about the « Agenda Mignon » brand. It’s French, and quite old. The quality is outstanding, they lay flat without training in my experience, the pen loop, albeit thin, points outwards and (my most important thing) they all have small rings. I find small rings as important as flatability : bigger rings are in the way when I write, and I find they make turning the pages a cumbersome process. Of course it depends on your life and what you want from a planner, but seeing where you’re at, I find you could maybe see if something tickles your fancy. A google search with agenda mignon should suffice. I find personal sizes on second hand markers for 50/60€

Totally got the minimalist concept you went after. Loving that how practical it is you are using all sort of paper coming your way. I love using all sort of paper as well and really enjoy the tactile experience of it.

Love the Mini size overall. Just seems to get overlooked as a lot of people think it is too small. Although Filofax bought the format back I still wish they would support it more with a wider range of refills like they used to. A year diary of week on a 2 page and then 4 indexed sections at the back for various notes meets my needs perfectly. I have the Filofax printed To Do List which I place in the week current week. The Mini works for me as I can easily carry it around and take to appointmnts where I need to look at dates. Really like how you make your own refills. Can see how the Guildford and the Portland Extra slims can make perfect wallets with paper organisation and notes. Enjoyed your video.

Thanks for the bradawl tip. I'm in the process of switching to a mini, partly thanks to this channel and mostly because its practically a7 and I'd rather not be tied to premade inserts. but my local brand of mini has 3 mm holes on the inserts and I cant find a hole punch that does less than 5mm. Pretty big difference at that scale. You're a lifesaver, cheers!

Thank you for feedback as always. I am fascinated by paper based "systems", so I'm currently "running" several at the same time. I do feel a little guilty with my paper usage, so I do try to recycle as much as I can. And of course, there's something very satisfying in making Filofax inserts from my junk mail :-)

Do you think it is maybe lined with a bonded leather? It certainly isn't deluxe behind the main front piece and the inner pocket. Really either side of the Rings us the worst place to put inferior materials. If spoils a useful Filo.

I think the problem here (which I've noticed on this binder, a personal sized Guildford Slim, and a mini sized "Executive") is that the leather layer, that is bonded to a man made substrate, is simply too thin. All these models were made around the same time, and I assume that manufacturing processes were changed after a time. Certainly my Portland, as you saw in the video, suffers none of these problems, despite being used as a wallet every day. So you're right. This problem does spoil the Filofax but, as you know, I can live with it simply because I think this Guildford Extra Slim is the perfect design for use as an EDC. At least for me. @@Flatability I would cover it with black sticky tape, just to stop it getting worse, or maybe peel off the remaining bits. However, I guess you won't as you are all about utility and it probably doesn't worry you. I enjoyed the video.

I have removed all the flaking leather from my personal sized Guilford Slim (which suffers from the same issue. I agree, I do see Filofaxes as working tools but there will come a time when I will get around to performing the same procedure with my Mini Extra Slim model too. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video.

My slimline Guildford personal size also had the leather peel off but after only a couple of years of really really light use (probably only amounted to about a fortnight of your use!). Really really disappointing
