‘The Masquerade mixed by Claptone’ is the first official mix compilation from the mysterious masked figure, and showcases the heartstring-tugging, synapse-triggering DJ performances that have entranced countless clubbers worldwide. Ahead of its release, three tracks created specifically for the mix are previewed on this album sampler, each demonstrating Claptone’s remix and production alchemy. ‘The First Time Free’ is an ode to timeless house music, marrying Ultra Naté’s iconic guitar riff and Roland Clark’s heartfelt vocal with a characteristic pulsing Claptone groove. ‘Planet Rock’, on the other hand, reveals Claptone’s affinity towards classic electro and his ability to transcend eras, with Afrika Bambaataa’s unmistakable stabs echoing all around his rework of the Powers That Be cover. Finally, ‘God Made Me Feel It’ is an explosive edit combining Simion’s recent ‘Can You Feel It’ with Mike Dunn’s seminal house/garage crossover from his MD X-Spress alias, ‘God Made Me Phunky’, and closing the sampler in emphatic style.

Literally heard this in the bathroom at a restaurant. Couldnt make out the lyrics, but the beat memorized me to the point I dowloaded Shazam ASAP and was praying it downloaded in time to catch the song, now here I am. Im glad I walked in to the batroom at the perfect time

This song makes me cry, I can't even lie ... I just got my house broken or should i say my heart broken, hence why i came here to find refugee ... I am French and here there is no real House music, there isn’t this culture, PARIS does not have this identity.
