On the Mega Drive version Sub Zero did end up with the same fighting stance as Scorpion. On the Super Nintendo version however, they had different stances.

Even the Master System had both stances. Still, the Mega Drive games played like the arcade though. Shame the SNES port was rushed, I don't even care that it was censored, it is glitchy as hell and plays like crap. At least MKII on SNES is excellent.

The first few mortal kombat games where it was live action were the best ones because it gave that creep scare realism like oh fuck I might get killed… the games that they went full cgi animation has lost that same scary realism and I am not sure how none of these game devs have realized this. Same with the game players…..

You got it perfectly. Sadly people are moved by the tides of the times, but only "some" times they look inside and create, is the only moment of retrospection. This happened a lot more in those days, is like everyone was asleep today.

When me and my friends played MK1 at a friends house, we didn't know that there were such things as Fatalities. Imagine our faces when one of us, accidentally, pulled a head with a spine off as subzero.

Motion capture for actors was a thing in games since Pit-Fighter by Atari was released in 1990. Although Pit-Fighter wasn't the first game to use digitized sprites (that honor goes to Reikai Doshi: Chinese Exorcist), it was the first game use actors for it's character sprites (aka digitized actors)

this isnt motion capture, its just literally video capture, where the frames of the video are converted (digitised) to sprites. Mocap, is when you have a system that 'captures motion' from real world points in space and converts them to equivalent 3d coordinates, to transform 3d objects in computer graphics software.
