@@Notturnoir It was never really addressed that they were usually in very affluent and desirable areas in Chicago's North Shore, but it was tacitly implied that they lived in upper class neighborhoods, or at the least upper-middle class, but definitely not middle class. I think that was part of the charm though: most of the characters in his movies were smart but also very spoiled, and usually had to eat a bit of humble pie and learn to be less bratty.
