Best DFAM demo I've seen. This is the kind of tones and rhythms I knew it would be capable of, but none of the other demos properly demonstrate it to this degree. Perfect timing, cuz mine arrives on Tuesday. Ima study the fuck outa dis.
the most wonderful thing about these synths especially the DFAM for instance; is its ability to mesmerize hypnotize revitalize and surprise even after months of playing around you will find some new to keep you interested in its infinite splendor. Thank You MOOG
I sold them because I'm tired, they need to be constantly tuned in tone, this device needs to be recorded immediately, it doesn't suit me, it's not always possible, I need to wake up the next day and sound the same patch that I did yesterday, it is impossible to do this on this device, but I also stopped liking the sound of his sound from the 70s )
@@ULTRAHARM Makes sense. I'm thinking of getting 1 or 2 of these for live improvisation (from scratch) in techno. I won't be using them for bass or melody, just sounds. Do you think they would work for this, and could the tuning still be an issue?
@@soundofmai I had two devices, I used them not as a drum module, but as a synthesizer, but they need to be recorded immediately, it takes a lot of time to set them up, if it’s so easy to play around and have extra money, then you can buy )
This is one of the best demos of a DFAM I've seen. I had pretty much decided not buy one because I'm mostly DAW based and find it hard to see how it would fit into that workflow, but watching this definitely makes me want one again!! Thanks for posting (I think!)
Thank you very much for the feedback! I have used the VST for 10 years. Virtual synthesizers killed me as a musician, when I bought my first iron synth, I understood how much time I spent! Moog is super devices! When I bought the first, DFAM I immediately wanted the second. :)
Yeah I'm in the same boat. I ended up getting one though. You can get a cheap sequencer like a Korg SQ-1 or an Arturia Beatstep to clock the DFAM to your DAW for like 100 bucks or less. Yes sadly it's just another thing you have to spend money on to do a simple task (welcome to modular) but a small sequencer will greatly expand the instrument
Got my DFAM 4 days ago. It is one of the most incredible toys I have owned. It acts as though it is a living being with a voice of its own. Just when I think "oh this is what it does" it surprises me with more...
Great use of the DFAM with delay! I almost forgot they are synths; beyond just using them as percussion. I have 2 of them and they are fun to play with.
My gratitude to you for this entire effort. I'm kinda teetering on the edge of buying one to compliment the subharmonicon (recent purchase) and this video moves me a step closer. Hmmmmmm will I or won't I? Blessings.
Hello man! I’m still doubting about getting one of these, I have a roland tr8s and a korg volca fm, I definitely want to get something different, I make techno, and love percussive sounds and sequences, do you think this would be a good option?? It wouldn’t be used as a drum machine directly, because I have the Roland as I said before! I’ll wait for your answer, and thanks for your
Hi, thanks! I had 2 DFAM, I sold both of them. There are many reasons, an eight-step sequencer ( A sound from the seventies, if you wind some kind of patch, then you need to immediately record it somewhere, because over the past some time it has changed both in sound and rhythmically ( and so on... DFAM can be used as a synthesizer, but I was annoyed by the fact that it had to be constantly adjusted, the tuning of the instrument floats very much in tone. I think it's better to buy something from the Elektron, it will be a good choice!
@@ULTRAHARM I’m aware that because of the velocity and pitch knobs, is pretty hard to have the tune that you want, also the sequencer is pretty basic, but still looks so fun to use! I’ll literally just use it to mess around and get some cool sequences, because as I said, my drum machine is the Roland. I’m not sure if buying or not, definitely your answer help a bit! Thanks!❤️
Oh, and another importan question, is it possible to create shorter sequences? Instead of 8 steps, 5 for example? Because I loop to make loopy short sequences, but idk if is possible with this one
Great demo! I am preparing a new set up dawless to play mental hard techno. Which hardware to purchase in priority: dfam + M32 + Drum machine (jomox or elektron)? 2 Dfam + digitakt + drum machine?
Hey ! I have a setup with wich I play improvisated mental tekno live sets. I don't know about the elektron products as I'm sticking with my electribe emx for the moment but I can say that 2 dfams are an absolute joy to play. Also, have you considered adding some eurorack modules to your setup ? Beside CV control for the dfams, some modules like Clouds or Erica synth sample drums have a very nice live workflow while allowing you to play pre-recorded loops. Not just that, you can also record loops live then mangle them in many ways with just a sequencer and an lfo.
hi can you plug DFAM with beringher CRAVE and use the midi of CRAVE❓❓❓❓❓❓ and finally play synchro with a TR-909 all together ????? (hope you understand me)
Spectacular! This machine is almost too perfect, almost too organic. Im blown away :) I'd compare the personality and uniqueness of dfam with roland tb 303 (in its own time, when there didnt yet exist anything quite like it). Not mutch you can do, just let it speak and listen. Wish yo many great explorations with that fabulous machine. Thank you for shering!
Wow great tunes! For me the dfam is so hard to master.. ones I touch any knob the whole thing goes baaam and acts like crazy I don’t even understand it’s properties lol
Thank you :) For me, this device is like a living organism that moves, breathes, lives, and you don’t know what will happen next .... and this is wonderful! Moog make cool synthesizers!
the idea of this thing is cool but it just does not work out fine. even the better, more creative demos (like this one) all i hear is 12345678, dummdududumtutum, dadatsdahhdadada... put mine up for sale again after one weekend
@@paulzavadski1565 I did not consider this instrument as a drum machine, but I got tired of it very quickly))) I like the elektron better! Super device!
