Barry, i know you avoid group think and don’t watch other reviews. Another, very good RU-vid channel (The Run Testers) reviewed this ring as well. They are very good at what they do but you managed to cover more than they did, in less than two thirds of the time. Kudos!
It’s funny. I saw two reviews pop up. One from Chase the Summit who I often watch and respect and likewise the Run Testers. I decided not to watch either again because of groupthink but I was surprised at the length of their videos… and all the time I was editing mine I thought…something is wrong here I must be missing something as mine was looking like it would be shorter. A first! … I’m meeting Jack in a few weeks and he has an Oura. So I’m hoping to do a comparison. As it stands the Ultrahuman wins… the non subscription really does it for me…
I am trying to make my videos shorter...and always trying to get better at making them...I would like more subscribers, but its not a big driver for me....making better videos is...speaking of which...now to pop upstairs and start making one about my next marathon kit...
Very interesting , I am quite happy with My garmin 955 which I wear 24/7 (I replaced the strap with a nylon wrap around / velcro strap .. to avoid the swell, rash) . However this is the first viable ring that I would seriously look at (I find subscriptions are the new age Direct debits , lots of little nips at your current account, eating all thats left after the taxman )
Thanks for the honest and informative video! Did you test the food logging feature and the feedback you get based on the aggregated data from the CGM sensor wearing community?
I haven't used the food logging, I log all my food on MyFitnessPal at the moment as I have been for years. I would like to test the Glucose monitoring system that Ultrahuman have developed. I tried Supersapiens last year and was not as impressed as I thought I might be...
Hello, thanks for the video. I actually have the sizing kit and I have to choose my size. I read online that the actual ring is slightly larger than the corresponding size of the sizing kit ring, do you know if it's true? Thanks.
Hello Andrea. I passed on my sizing kit to a friend. My ring which is on my index finger right now fits well based on picking the same size in the sizing kit. So my experience is to pick the same size as the sizing kit. Sometimes my finger swells and the ring fits a little more tightly. Very occasionally, maybe once a month, I move it to the next finger which is slightly smaller. I wear the ring every day all the time except when charging. There are discounts for Black Friday which you have probably seen
Thank you for your review, I found it helpful. I would be interested to see how you like the ring after using it for some time. I rather not purchase an Oura ring due to the subscription attached to it. This seems like the best alternative so far. What do you think?
The Oura ring subscription is a no no for me. I have looked the their website and the Oura ring seems to do pretty much the same things as the Ultrahuman. My nephew has an Oura ring and I am meeting him in a few weeks and will make some detailed comparisons. I have been using the Ultrahuman constantly since June 23rd and plan to keep going...
Not at the moment (July 2023) But it is listed by Ultrahuman as upcoming and these are the details: Respiratory rate: Ultrahuman goes beyond traditional fitness tracking by providing real-time monitoring of respiratory patterns. By analyzing the user's respiratory rate, the app offers insights into breathing efficiency and patterns during various activities. This information can be used to optimize breathing techniques, enhance endurance, and improve overall respiratory health. Tracking respiratory rate in real-time allows users to understand their body's response to physical exertion and make adjustments for better performance and well-being. I will ask try and find out when it will be released
I made a video about comparative sleep statistics here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f9B8eTqTQek.html In terms of steps I measured on July 29th when I ran a marathon: Apple Watch Ultra: 55794 Garmin FR955 Solar: 58520 Ultrahuman Ring Air: 46491 Steps on August 4th, a typical day: Apple Watch Ultra: 12882 Garmin FR955 Solar: 13722 Ultrahuman Ring Air: 11770 The HRV from 28 July to 6 August average: Apple Watch Ultra: 44 Garmin FR955 Solar: 40 Ultrahuman Ring Air: 42 I am not hugely interested in the steps which are different between the devices. I try to get over 10,000 a day and the Garmin is the easiest to check on as I go along. I am interested in the HRV, particularly is there is a spike in the data. They seem closely matched in this regard Hope this helps...

Ultrahuman say 6 days. I think I typically get 4-5, but will typically charge it before it gets to zero, and don't always charge to 100%. It is low at the moment so will let it drain to 0%, fully charge and test more accurately how long it takes to get back to 0%
