Join me and three of my good friends as we thru-hike the Art Loeb Trail in November, 2018. This trail has a lot to offer with great views, some challenging climbs, and all sorts of different terrain. I highly recommend you check it out! This is part one of three backpacking videos as we head North, covering the trail from Davidson River Campground to the Daniel Boone boy scout camp.
The Art Loeb Trail is a 30.1-mile trail located in Pisgah National Forest in Western North Carolina. The northern terminus is at the Daniel Boone Boy Scout Camp in Haywood County, while the trail's southern terminus is located near the Davidson River Campground, near Brevard, in Transylvania County.
Bear Canisters are required for the section between the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Northern terminus. I used the BV450 and had plenty of room.

Water can be scarce in shining rock wilderness at certain times.
The trail is blazed except for the Shining Rock Wilderness area where it is easy to get lost, but that's half the fun!
Shuttle services are available from Asheville Airport Shuttle. Harry is a very nice guy and very dependable.
