Camping with children is hard enough, before filming. Gotta give you huge props to set up everything, entertain, stay warm, make it fun for the little guy, and still film. You just gained a lot of respect. My son is not much older. It's not an easy feat. Most wouldn't understand unless you've done recently. Great job

as to the stove why not add rocks underneath it to absorb the heat and maybe on top to keep you warm when the fire dies down?

Canadian Prepper....you should do a future review on Boreal Outdoor Innovations new Titanium portable wood stoves. I heard that they will be coming out this Spring of 2024. Very large stove sizes all made out of Titanium. Those guys make all high end stuff and all made in Canada. See if they'll give you one for a review!

🐺🐺🐶🐶🐶Thanks for the info!!! I have a request. Please make a video showcasing the K9s and their role in your preparedness or in preparedness in general. Maybe something with Marshall or Baxter sporting a dog caddy vest with their essentials and with security etc. If you have e made a video like that I must have missed it. I follow all of your vids but some slip through the cracks but I usually view it within a few days if you launching it. Thanks in advance. 🐶🐶🐺🐺I am aware of some of the other previous vids of the K9s but not of recent in their more mature state doing the things I described.

Absolutely outstanding. Like you I have both the Laavo 4 and Gamme 4. The Laavo is definitely the ultralight bugout shelter, while the Gamme 4 (we call it the Bunker) Is a more hardened winter deployment shelter. Both are exceptional! Thanks for everything you do Nate, and, of course thanks for sharing. STN

This is a direct quote - "There is nothing that hinders you from doing what must be done to acquire really cool gear." - Marcus A....Now I despise the cold. I would take 120 degrees (in the shade)/American, over -20 degrees/Canadian anytime...but if I had to endure cold like that, I for sure would want, this gear...although I don't think I'd pitch my Tee Pee right next to that widow maker... really good film quality...

You're a good Daddy! Kids love being out w their Dads! I'd like something BIG. A cabin, most likely. There's never been a tent I really cared for. 😉 yep. Spoiled. The thing is I'm getting old & have been sick for a very long time. So, chronic pain says that cots are no longer an option. I'd like to get a cabin & land. We have an acre at our home, but it's pretty useless unless you amend the soil a great deal & keep things from freezing during unseasonal weather events. (Then, there are Mormon crickets & grasshopper invasions if the Winter doesn't get cold enough.) Life is always interesting! I'm thinking of trying a small hydroponic system for food. We'll see!

From the early fifty's through sixty's my father an engineer was an avid outdoorsman . He took the entire family camping with grandpa uncles cousins welcome would drive as far as possible in different directions unpacking all gear of that day unloading his pickup and sixteen foot Lyman Clinker and setting up camp himself . Usually jigging frogs after supper for breakfast before daylight fishing and hunting most all of the day together . Imagine seeing your son brought back all those memories and gosh do I miss my dad . Thanks Nate

For winter camping nothing beats a canvas tent. Way more durable. But if you’re worried about weight a tent like this is ideal. This one is too expensive considering you can get similar ones for under $300. Thanks for sharing.

You know... There can be fit 6 men (and even more) if you sleep head to tent "wall"... That's how those 6 men tents should be used (it is even warmer that way). We had similiar tents in the army... And yeah the chair doesn't belong there (it takes too much space)

Use the top of the teepee tent to tie a string above the fire to dry clothes and live lower where the air isn't as dry and hot to breathe. That's actually kinda I like that it doesn't distribute it as well. You can dry your clothes up to top and work down below.

@CanadianPrepper
@CanadianPrepper 4 года назад
We also sell nortent products however I am very skeptical about that product. Because it is so light that means that the glass is likely very thin, that means if you break it in the field you are screwed. Your tent will become inundated with smoke if you have no way to block the window. And because these things tend to take quite a beating when they're out in the field especially when it's scorching hot Non-Stop then there is a serious risk of that breaking even in transport. We do sell winnerwell Stove that have thicker glass, but I'm not sure I would trust the nortent version I'd really have to try it out till. My intuition tells me it's a bit too novel and idea for the backcountry

Fun question - have you ever tried a winter camp using only those things that you know you'll always have on your person, without all the tools, tents, and toys? Say, maybe whatever you're wearing, a pocketknife, whatever a wallet typically contains, a pack of smokes and a lighter, and maybe a bit of odd cord?
