+Zachary Anderson Or he could probably be using the rocks on the ocean as footing, when he turned into stone, he can't keep moving and slipped down to the depths.
Man, Ultraman Tiga and Dyna both have a climactic finale with the ultraman facing a kaiju that completely overpowers them in everyway. It's only with the help of humanity that they managed to defeat it. If the rumors about Ultraman Trigger is true and it actually sets in the same universe, I hope Tsuburaya would have the finale the same as Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Dyna.
No need to be packed with actions and effects, but this fight is still a masterpiece. I would chase the whole series if thr's any new series similar to Tiga.
I always thought that when Tiga runs out of light he turns into stone because of this episode, but turns out it's Gatanothor's ability that turned Tiga into stone. Never knew that until a few years later.
My childhood DIED when TIGA DIED, not because of stupid sentimentalism, but because i had to take a flight after the First part of the battle and i Lost the show's ending after that. There was no reprise where i lived (🇧🇷) and i had to wait for 10 years to see It AGAIN on the internet......😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢. Tigas Death was really a F_cking defeat for me 😭😭😭😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😓😓😓😓 (i never saw his resurection).
God damn, Gatanozoa is terrifying. Two finisher attacks and nothing, not a scratch! Feels like Tiga could blast at it for ages and make no progress at all. It's likely 10 times Tiga's weight too. A titanic foe even for titans of light.
@@klockenberg2299 That's surprisingly light given that it's about 3 tigas wide and 4 tigas long. The shell is either mostly hollow or ultraman light is much denser. 4:28 6:39
I never knew what happened to this fight. All I remember was Tiga turning into stone, and the local network not airing the next episode. Was this kaiju really that overpowered?
Yeah, I mean, plenty of kaiju/sejin have defeat ultramen before. Gantanoza was the final boss of the show so it does make sense for Tiga to be destroyed at first.
@@jjiang7488 yeah, but why is it the final boss though? i mean, it's basically just a giant, angry upside-down nautilus, what kinda feats it possesses to be a final boss?
@@auliasa6602Looks don’t determine power. Gatanozoa’s shell was practically impervious to all of Tiga’s (normal) finishers. Plus it seemed to have an infinite amount of tentacles/pincers to restrain a potential opponent. And that dark smoke is physically harmful to beings of light. It also wipes out the advanced human civilization 30 million years ago in the neo frontier universe, by covering the world in darkness.
@@auliasa6602 and not to mention, the thing’s fucking huge, and it seems to be literally part of the earth. No normal punch/kick is gonna dislodge it (glitter tiga doesn’t count)
He wasn't even close. You know the guy in the underground base who said "Impossible. He doesn't have a chance." That guy is literally a prophet, as introduced earlier in the series. It foreshadowed that Tiga would lose the fight. Edit: also, it's been stated that Daigo can only use Tiga to half the potential of the original Tiga, so if he could use the full potential, he would have stood a good chance.
@@dotaultimate6607 I don't remember much about the plot of Tiga. What I know is that this big boi that Tiga is fighting is a parody of one of the gods from Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.
What makes this episode special for me is that it's not only mere nostalgia, but this episode just slapped me with a fact for the first time... Heroes can lose.
If anyone seen what Gatanothor's full body (including big hind legs underwater), did anyone think that only Tiga's feet were underwater like he's standing on surface?
@@wakpijor1368 i agree, the classic were fine, but they didn't really age well. The effects were meh and you could obviously tell it's fake 99% of the time. The story on the other hand is pretty good, especially UltraSeven, Taro and Leo. But other than that, the other series barely had any unique events in the story and was just the same cliché "attack team found monster, kill monster" everytime. During the heisei era, the writing of the franchise really improved and all of them were actually unique. No hate on showa era, i still prefer it over new gen and reiwa anytime. It just aged really badly is all. The heisei era is the perfect combination of story and special effects, especially post cosmos.
Having lost the light, Ultraman Tiga once again became a Stone Statue. Can Tiga recover the light? Or the human race perish as it did in ancient times?
