I bought two of these. One of them stopped working one month after installed. The other one helped scaring off cats and dogs only, but it is not infallible. I still have found couple of cat/dog poops, but not as much as before.
We've notice a decrease in a multitude of animal feces since installation. Both Neighbors next to us either have an apple tree or cherry tree....we got open land with no fruit trees, so they use it as a buffet spot. I can actually hear the low volume high freq sound-much like a dog whistle. Has excellent range, i tend to turn off when im working in the yard. I should be thankful at 42 years of age my hearing is great lol
Sorry, but you missed this one. JoeTech posted a similar video on this product and I gave him the same feedback. This unit is NOT a good product. I bought four (4) of them and they seemed to operate fine (I said "operate", not "work as advertised"). I used an Arlo camera and caught a deer walking up to the unit. It set it off with the ultrasonic sound and flashing light. The deer acted as if it was not there...it grazed and slowly walked on as they always do. Then within 2 weeks, ALL FOUR units failed to work at all. I kept them in sunlight so there was not a charging issue from lack of light. So I deem this a bad unit(s) and returned them to get my money back. I'm not saying it may not work on all animals at all times, but it did not work for me and I have video evidence. Plus the all the units I purchased did not hold for more than 2 weeks. I purposefully got this unit with the flashing light thinking that would help in startling the animals...but it sure did not work on the deer in my yard. I'm going to go with a water spray motion activation unit next before trying anything else like this.
Those things are horrible. Possibly you can't hear the sound anymore. But kids and young adults CAN. My neighbors have one. I can hear the sound even when I'm in my car. And it DOES hurt my ears. I hate those things.
Please do get back with another review if this product really works and scares off cats. As i am seriously shopping around for something that is effective and not a waste on some electronic product. Stray Cats have become an unnecessary pain.
I seem to have damaged it trying to add a bigger battery, but I did notice domestic cats are more brave and come closer to it, one even touching it, but strays kept away.
I have heard very good results for this device, I live in Long Beach California and deal with feral cats, skunks, rats im buying one this weekend but i suspect this device will work well, sound and light combo effects seem to scare off many animals.
@@TalkingstuffNet That is a very nice one as well, I feel sometimes you need a combination of solar devices and hard wired devices. Im trying to find ways to keep rodents off my avocado trees i recently planted. All these animals ruin crops so fast. Thankfully people have developed these devices to help in the fight to repel some of these invasive animals.
I wish someone would invent one of these things that the would shoot a small laser beam and zap current right into a kitty cat's hole when it dumps on my lawn.
I had one,(no light), but it would not hold charge from day 1, I took it apart and one of the 4 batteries in the sealed pack was faulty, replaced and was much improved, but in winter it ran down, so I installed a charging socket and charged once a week, it lasted about 18 months before packing in, water damage it is not sealed very well. It did reduce the poo, but I guess some cats are deaf!
My neighbor has 4 and I’m about to stomp them all into inexistance, will not stop beeping and I can’t even go in my own backyard cause the f-ing noise. Thank you for showing me how to turn them off, I’ll start with that
I am not sure if this device really works... I bought one recently shipped from Malaysia but doesn't seem to scare away any Cats at all. They do shit in front of this device.. The red sensor light flashes and gives some vibration sound but cats don't go away. This is a failure and loss of money spent.
My neighbour has one and it's always buzzing and there's nothing in front of it. It just buzzes all day long Soon as the sun comes up, it's a noise hazard. Its not barely audible its a high pitch screech. Terrible product
I like the strobe light addition to the sound & no batteries needed. Will it work for more than 1 year? My experience with solar gadgets is they don't. Some even fail after 6 months & are a waste of $. Can i easily replace the rechargeable batteries? Thanks for the post.
You will need to open it up to replace the rechargeable batteries, but you could compromise the water resistance if not careful. It's easy to open up, having only a few screws below.
Thank you for the video. Does it make sound audible to human? (Adult & kids). I'm looking to buy this to keep birds away from my bedroom's window - these birds come to the balcony and knock on the window every morning to wake us up. But if this unit makes loud and audible sound then it might worsen the situation.
I got two of these with the lights and two with just the sound. They run constantly all day and the batteries are drained at night when you need them. It seems that their sensors are picking up everything and there is no way to adjust them. When you see the flashing red light it means they are not fully charged and you hear them clicking on and off. I tried aiming them at different spots but no success. My neighbor has one and it seems to work better as its kind of in an alleyway where it gets little surrounding movement to effect it.
First, does the motion detector detected the animal? If yes, this device emits certain frequencies, this frequency will depends on which type of animal that you are targeting at. Perhaps a motion detector with sprinkler may be more proven than using frequency.
Mine still works, it needs to charge up the battery completely. Maybe the piece you have has a faulty battery. If bought from a store try for a replacement. Before that, turn the device off, place in the sun the whole day. Then turn it on at night. You will be sure it's a battery issue then.
I live in an independent villa and there are walls between each villa, so their pets cannot jump into our yard. All pet owners are dog owners, the cats are all stray.
i have the same unit. It worked properly for a few days but when I pulled it from the ground to transfer it to another location, it started beeping really fast. I already turned it off for hours. But when I turned it on, it's still beeping rapidly. Does that mean it's malfunctioning?
The battery is within and it's charged via the solar panel. It's accessible via the screws below, but that just disassembles the entire device and if you're not careful is a bit complex to put back together.
for sure DOES NOT WORK! save you money!! -one of the "speakers" is actually not a function at all! I opened one of these things up to figure out why it sucked and low and behold, it's just there for decoration -the solar panel sensor is very ineffective! there is a thin film sheeting protecting for scratches I guess, but even if you take that off, you need some serious lumens to charge the batteries and that takes a while -the sensor is covered by some crappy non translucent "cap", if you take it off and try to look thru it, you will clearly notice there is no way it can pick up an object motioning by -last but not least, it's a very cheap, architecturally made, plastic rip off piece of crap that does not work! cats will by unaffected
Ever since I moved to this model cats don't even come near the house. At level 3 we can't stand next to it, it's that irritating. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RWhPLcKvJEQ.html
I have bird-like cardinals, blue jay, and others that I feed but there are some squirrels that come too I want to rid of the squirrels but not to birds, Can I use this device to rid of the squirrels but not to birds. Thanks
I just got the same exact one. Can I ask you why it's sound is cracking. It used to work and I used to hear the sound that should chase away animals. But after it rained hard it's now cracking. It's not effective anymore. What is happening?
It does charge the battery when switched off. I used to switch it off and place it on a wall with direct sunlight to make sure it was charged up before setting it up for the night. Used to do that once in a while when the area it was placed in didn't receive enough sunlight.
The cats do get used to it and come closer, but I feel the ultrasonic sound is still irritating to them as they don't use my lawn as a toilet. (hope I don't jinx it by typing this 😅)
Not very sure, I wanted one that would safely keep them away. The new one I reviewed at higher settings, even we can't stand next to it. The one that would zap is dangerous if you have kids. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RWhPLcKvJEQ.html
This is a different version, it uses ultrasonic sounds to scare off reptiles and rodents. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RWhPLcKvJEQ.html
+faris abdulla hmmm, this one is solar only. Maybe other models with dc in, might be available. AA's might not last that long. If you're brave enough, you can try opening it up and modding it. 😁 I wanted to open it and place a mini powerbank inside. Not sure how long it would take to charge via the solar panel,if I do mod it. 🤔
Talking Stuff Okay thanks for letting me know I looked everywhere and couldn’t get a straight answer😅 I’m not that brave or smart to try something like this I’m more street smart if you know what I mean😆 but I’m sure you can do it👍 And again thanks for the quick response and you got a new subscriber now keep it up man
