Alan had a great question (from our fb group related to the course) - Do you wet or dry trough? I was like - I should make a video on that!
Thanks to Eighteeth for them sending me their ultrasonic unit (Ultramint Pro). It's great b/c it has both EMS and Satelec tips.

I don't use ultrasonic tips as I don't have any,, so I penetrate to the level of cervical line then enlarge horizontally at that level a little bit with a fissure bur then a slowspeed round bur for the whole chamber,, then flaring with a fissure,, I don't have endo z burs but this technique is safe and always works fine

Hey, so unless use alot of water with assisant , its to bad that those ultra sonic tips damage surrounding tissues during endodontic treatment, it is common that local temperature increases of the root surface exceed threshold temperature increase

Thanks for these tips. I have an upper premolar I’m struggling to get into and always worried about perforating the furcation. Hopefully when they are in I’ll get in on the second attempt.

these are endo ultrasonic tips? Or those we use for scaling purpose? I haven't got a chance to use them that's why I asked.

I heared that water make ultrasonic wave work better and help deliver ultrasonic power. for me I like it wet as I don't like dentin to get burn

Hi doctor.At this point, would you enlarge the access to increase the width coronal to the canals for reducing stress on the files.

That is such a great question. I think it really depends on the operator and the file system, and the patient as well. In my experience, the number 2 Round bur has a diameter of 1 mm, and I find it is sufficient width in premolars, lower premolars. My hand isn’t perfect so the bur does move laterally and widens the access as I move buccal lingually. Honestly, unless it’s a mandibular anterior incisor, most teeth already have a restoration or caries to excavate.
