bc they are amazing! I finally got to see them on the 2nd day of their 1st us appearance in nyc, where they performed the assassination of julius caesar in its entirety. Great show! (Only them, which I liked and got a poster from a friend that went VIP with his wife) I look forward to the album this month, though I cant recall day. I prefer this single to the 1st. I love kristoffer ryggs!
Thank you so much for saying that. Martin ‘Youth’ Glover/Michael Rendall duo. Same guys who co-produced and mixed Caesar… crystalline! We can’t wait to share the entire album with you tbh.
Always without fear. A new chapter in a history of breaking boundaries. And HOM an absolute thanks for bring back the C93 and specially for me Hypnopazuzu, one of my records of all time.
Without supporters like you we couldn’t...so thank YOU! Your support is hugely appreciated. The Hypnopazuzu release is one of our favourites too, always hoping they’ll enter the studio again soon! Stay safe x
It is Ulver disco fever time again! Say, write, or swallow as much as you want to about the diversive sounds of this band, maybe it will be Wolf And The Night sounding with no bass next time! 👍
So a strange song for strange times you say - I guess you're right. How about a strange album for a strange decade, we most obviously are facing? The world needs this.
There's Steven Wilson ' s Personal shopper new single as the third recomended video of this. Consider also that i discovered this band today in the comment section of the last song of the Last album of Opeth' s In cauda Venenum. This algorithm thing really does its tricks.
I'm a huge Opeth and Steven Wilson fan. Discovered Porcupine Tree after learning of Steven and his mixing of 3 of Opeth's albums ,and it's just taken me on a crazy journey in the last 16 years. Accidently stumbled upon Ulver 11 years ago as it was the accompanying music to a video slideshow of Artwork from Han Ruedi Giger . Hooked ever since..albums ' Perdition City' and 'Shadows Of The Sun' really resonating with me( check them out if you havn't yet). Cheers
Crossing fingers for an LP release on Apri the 4th... is that what House of Mythology was teasing about? I love this!!! Greetings from México. Take care #alonetogether
so far with each album ulver was a bit new ulver, always evolving, improving, being slightly different than before. this just sounds like another track from the last album.
Hmmm, I own all their vinyl releases and this one is absolutely more synth pop. ok. fat sound and great tunes. the album will be be the next one in my collection. Ave revlU
Kinda depends on what you're looking for, but I'd say Perdition City, Shadows of the Sun and The Assassination of Julius Caesar are the three behemoths in their discography. Each of these have a distinct sound of their own and would be good a entry point into their music!
TheAphexTim. Thank you for replying to my question and giving me some advice 👍🏻 I like a huge and varied amount of different musical genres so I’m pretty open to any thing really. If I get into a band after hearing a song, I like to actually purchase one of their albums and if I get hooked, then buy their back catalogue or newer albums. So what of the three albums you mentioned would you lean more towards, if you were trying to get a friend into the band? And thanks again ☺️
If you love black metal, start with their early demos, or at least listen to Bergtatt. Otherwise, I think TheAphexTim has made some excellent suggestions. Perdition City, Shadows of the Sun and The Assassination of Julius Caesar are all excellent.
burnitdwn. Hey thanks for your advice too 👍🏻 but out of them three albums, which would you say I should try first? As a side note I got into a band called Opeth with their 10th album Heritage (when it came out) then bought all their older albums and all new albums since (favourite band now) and love them all.
