Katy Kat goes all-freaking-OUT with this song! This level was so easy after all you've been through. It's not about difficulty, it's about the "YES!!!" feeling you get when you know you're on the last level.
Jus t think about this story 15 minutes to get to gig Forced to put out fire Accused as pregnant Must care for children Has to fly a PLANE Cuts down trees Goes to a volcanic island/Hell Uses a fax machine to leave the island/Hell Gets to the gig Seems normal
Impossible... The voice actress of Katy (Michelle Burks) died in February... :( (If you want a source, search on Google "I think she has moved to texas and getting" (with quotes), it is the first (and only) result on Google)
MrPowerGamerBR Havn't played alot of Allstars so I don't remember how she sounded like. What milkcan clip are you refering to? I know about the Um Jammer Lammy interview clips that are allegedly lost. The Katy interview is the only one of wich footage still exists. (at least that is what I heard) They refered to her as "Mickey Burks" on the UJL Roxy New York video. Mickey beeing of course a common nickname for Michelle. There exist some videos of her singing soul songs(?) not sure if that is the correct genre. There are still so many unsolved mysteries about the parappa franchise :D I also really wanna know what the Um Jammer Lammy Arcade game played like. But we may never know. As a fan of the gameplay I am currently trying to analize the UJL engine to recreate it in game maker to allow fans to make simple parappa style rythm games ^^
TheBLBShow You know... that video of MilkCan signing "Got to Move!", it was shown in the end of UJL Roxy New York video. I found a lot of things when trying to find the inexistent high quality clip of that, did you know Parappa the Rapper Anime website is still online? (Someone forgot to tell Sony the Anime ended), and I didn't know Rodney sells Parappa merch on eBay (Now he only has 2 items on his store, maybe he will put new items later). Rodney also did want to create a new Parappa game (when PewDiePie recorded Parappa, someone emailed to him saying that a famous RU-vidr recorded Parappa the Rapper 2, and it was trending on RU-vid, so Rodney said "I told to my friends in Tokyo, maybe Sony will wake up"... idk about Matsuura, but he seems interested in Parappa/Lammy (On Playstation Awards she was playing one of the songs from Parappa the Rapper, and on screen it was appearing Parappa and Lammy... heck, even NanaOn-Sha website has Lammy and Parappa on the first page) I also didn't play Allstars, but after reading that Michelle has passed away, I decided to see who was the voice actress for Katy (or if it was Michelle) on Allstars (I never played it, but I remembered that Parappa had an story on it) of course, it isn't exactly the same... but the voice actress is way more similar to Michelle than the PTR2 voice actress. But of course, she doesn't has too many lines in the game (I think she only has two). Also, good luck trying to recreate the engine, I only know Java so... (and I'm lazy :P).
MrPowerGamerBR Interessting. How do I get to the anime website? Yea, I contacted Rodney a few month ago asking him if he had any of the Um Jammer Lammy UJL-2000 Guitars to sell. He doesn't sadly. I also really enjoyed Vib-Ribbon and Mojib-Ribbon by Nana-Onsha. I hope they make a game with one of their own IPs in the near future. They do alot of games of licenced franchises or app games. I hope they try to make a big comeback with a great rythm game eventually. (preferably parappa or a new IP with similar gameplay and artstyle)
My absolute favourite line in this song (and the stage) is when Katy leans back and says, "It's my test noooow!" Like, there is SO much power in the final word. It's amazing.
The reasons why I love this song SO MUCH :) 1. Um jammer lammy 2. Katy’s awesome singing 3. No one’s cutting corners now ;) 4. No cutting corners! 5. Guitar sounds included song’s guitar 6. Noo cutting’ corners 7. She is on the border now 8. Jamming 9. Lammy and Katy 10. It is a masterpiece 11. Beautiful 12. Classic! 13. The best song ever! In all history 14. Noo cutting corners 15. She is on the border noooooow 16. All songs sound good but this is the best one.
You know. Lammy is pretty relatable. Think about it. I bet there will be one person who reads this and has had a day that just keeps throwing issues at him or her. Now I'm not saying that someone had to put a fire out and then had to flipping FLY A PLANE, after all, that would be ridiculous, but something to that length. Like being late to a meeting and accidentally getting into trouble along the way. Anyone agree?
No cuttin' corners She's on the border now No shedding tears, Goal is real near Trying to shift, Into gear That's when I see ya comin', Prevent me from running Get up get up trying to psych myself Cuz it doesn't work with no one else All of this hype all around, Seems like, a waste of time From uptown to midtown, trying to get downtown But I'm not getting close I'm just running running round Always at my best, Giving it my best I don't need no rest, It's my test now And I'm in a beat, That's very unique And I know that I, I'm running for me Got to move With the groove I got to go on I got to move on I got to get on I'm facing all the problems that'll get me (Facin' the problems that'll get me) Guz I don't really wanna spend the time see (I don't wanna spend no time see) All of this hype all around, (All of this, hype from all around) Seems like, a waste of time (Seems like a waste of time with big sound) Let me tell you, let me give everybody little something (But let me give you, A word of advice, it seems like a waste of time but it's nice) In life, you just can't get going around cutting corners (And in life, struggle with help you later, no cuttin' corners) Always at my best, (And I'm in a beat) Giving it my best (Cuz I got the moves) I don't need to rest, (I don't need time to rest) It's my test now (You know I got the groove) And I'm in a beat, (And I would give you my best) That's very unique (Running from east to west) And I know that I, (Got the moves y'all) I'm running for me (Diggin' the groove y'all) Got to move (Hippity hop y'all) With the groove (Tippity top y'all,) I got to go on (Go on) I got to move on (Move on) I got to get on No cuttin' corners No cuttin' corners She's on the border now
Hands down the best song in the PaRappa series, it's so fricking good! Literally every song is a banger, though. Yes, Taste of Teriyaki is good, fight me.
I love this song, everything about it, from the awesome instrumental, to the incredible lyrics, to the nice guitar playing, the amazing beat, and the beautiful singing, goodness it’s just amazing
I remember the first time I played this song, I got in cool mode despite me playing normally. I knew in cool mode you freestyle, but it put me back to just the song after about 7 seconds
I love this game so much. Despite what my username may lead you to believe, this might actually be my favorite game of all time. I swear I'll one day get my hands on Make It Sweet! One day...
I haven’t played this game since I was a really little kid but this song has been stuck in my head all this time. I’ll be falling asleep and my brain will go “IN LIFE YOU JUST CAN’T KEEP GOIN’ ROUND CUTTIN CORNERS!!!” They should seriously make another one of these games.
@scooterkid37 If she isn't famous outside of the video game scene, she should be. She sounds a million times better than most singers, even the non mainstream ones.
Harmonix (the developer of Rock Band) is taking song requests for Rock Band 4, so if you want, you can request this song at the link below and they might add it as DLC to RB4: www.harmonixmusic.com/games/rock-band/request/
This song actually has better thought out lyrics and music than most of what pop artists put out. Michele Burks has a little bit of a shrill voice, but she sings the fuck out of this song. 2:41
She has a Different Voice Actor in all Three Games and the Anime. Chop Chop Master Onion on the other hand has the same VA in all the games plus the Japanese Anime (Cuz he is Japenese)
@JackTR21 If we're going to reach back that far, DDR is made by the Bemani group of Konami, which, in it's credits, credited Parappa the Rapper for it's influence directly.
This is the best Katy Kat in my opinion. I like how in the intro Katy says she has a distinguishing voice. Yet she's the PaRappa character with the most VA changes.
@JackTR21 It's considered the first "modern" one, from what I've gathered. It definitely set the ball in motion that snowballed into the monster that rhythm games are today.
A commen problem I have with the series is that while the instrumentals ae amazing, the lyrics are.....chesey. That being said, I think this song has good lyrics and good riffs.
Being kinda cheesy and dumb is part of the game's appeal. I honestly can't even imagine a Parappa/Lammy game where the dialogue isn't goofy and cheesy.
@@jppassos8035 For sure. Mostly thanks to the context given by the uncensored version of the level. I'm glad they didn't change the song, cause that'd be some bs.
