Mage has many strange places and the Umbra doubly so but how can we use them in games? Charles and Terry talk Autochthonia, The Fortress of Government, The Far Shores, and the Copernicus Research Station.

Loved this. For the next one could you perhaps go more into depth on realms or worlds that would fit a more 'fantasy' theme, perhaps interesting places to visit for Verbena and Hermetic characters? I've always wanted to run a game similar to the tv series 'The Magicians', and find something similar to Fillory. Looking forward to it!

Hi! So, this video says it's posted two years ago, which means I'm a lityle late for this party... Anyway. In regards to extraterrestrial quintessence and the COP... The first is an explanation half stolen from the fluff in the first Necron Codex for Warhammer 40k. There's these C'Tan "star gods", which are actually hyper powerful physical beings. Not gods at al. And they feed of the electromagnetic energy of stars. Kinda celestial vampires. A very advanced civilization is loosing a war against an even more afvanced one and, in their search for a way to turn the tide, they identify one of this massive beings. They interact with it, build it a body so it can experience their scale and comunicate better, and the creature (then creatures) helps them. These things ate the absolute masters of the physical realm, so the most obtuse insoghts they provide increase the technological capacities of their diascoverers by several orders of magnitude... BUT, awareness of the micro (to them) scale lets them see that there are this intelligent creatures that emit tint drops of their electromagnetic "food"... Only that compared to a star, biologocal intelligent mortals are like a mix beef wellington/pure heroine... Shenanigans ensue, during which a war bloody enough to birth a galaxy spaning GOD is fought. Fun times all around. But the idea of "earth, and mortals, quintessence just tastes so much better" is patently explored. Later fluff sh!ts all over this, but the original was the one that interests us for this. As for the COP: the Watchers presented in the 2nd ed. Book of Worlds imply Void Engineers discovered one of their ships, singularity weapons, and lesser servitor bodies. The Progenitors' attack cephalopods are suposedly a version of the corpses recovered. The thing is, in Ascension, when Tycoides meets you in the body of a child to give the players the knife of ixion, he mentions hus engineers "will keep their bodies and their minds" and explore the new universe. A little after that, the COP winks outvof existence. Yeah, I know Ascension is outside metaplot/continuity in its own narrative cull de sac, but what if the entire dyson sphere WAS the Watchers' ship. That's how I've always run it.
