Five and Lila storyline straight up ruined the series ending

Had a reallyyy bad feeling when I noticed it was only 6 episodes, and then I wondered if it was split in two parts until I realized how fast the plot was accelerated. They should have ended on season 3 when they all got reset with no powers and just lived their lives. Plus, there was no resolution with Luther finding his wife. Was just like he never even met her or cared about her. And the whole “new powers” thing was just bizarre because some of the characters were massively upgraded with no explanation as to why and then others were massively nerfed. Honestly, they should have never had five learning the ability to travel back minutes in time and reverse time because obviously that could never be used again. Should have been used in this season in some way for the first time.

I gave up after season 3. Never been a favorite of mine but the first 2 seasons were fun and five was a great character. I decided to skip the last season and just watch spoiler reviews. I've never done that with a show that I've watched most of the way through. The ending is ridiculous and makes it feel like it was all for naught. Which I guess was the point...

That finale and also that forced relationship with Five & Lila was cringe lol

Netflix has had a dozen better shows, that it cancelled at the peak of their popularity, leaving them fondly remembered by all who enjoyed them. Maybe they should have done that with this show, as it seems that they might not know how to actually properly end a series.

Season four of UMbrella is their version of the last season of Game of Thrones. SPoiler alert! I have a question! If the timeline is reset and the gifted kids were never born, how are Lila's and Allison's kids still alive? Why didn't they disappear?

maybe 8 episodes could've been better for more character interactions, also i felt like they needed more scenarios to use their powers.. feels like budget was the main issue. The subway adventure with 5 and Lila just showed them in the subway most of the time, and extended montage of them actually going topside to the different timelines could've been fun to see a bunch of different variations. I like Luther's character but didn't feel like he contributed much, and Alison and Klaus biker gang side story didn't really add much either, Ben and Jennifer could've used more development and maybe some more 'on the run' scenes from Hargreeve's men and the Keepers.. and the end felt like it needed more character agency and attempts and failure and revelations, it felt like it just happened

Steeply down hill after the first two episodes.

The apocalypses were repetitive? People, have been watching the same show? The apocalypses were the main plot. And our beloved dysfunctional family finally grew up enough to accept that they are the problem, and went from trying to avoid them, to making the hardest choice - the world over themselves. I love this show from the beginnig to the bittersweet ending. ❤😢❤

I am like strictly convinced that they didnt get enough of a budget for this season because everything about it was just lacking the charm

The show started off so promising, but the last season felt so rushed, and should have been eight episodes long, not six. The actors were strong in their roles, as always, but it just felt disappointing to fans who had to wait two years for this.

I dont think it's quite as bad as some people are saying but it definitely continued the steady decline in the show from the beginning. I wish we were in a timeline where the first season was only very good and it built up to being better and better but thats not what we got. Ill definitely rewatch at least 1&2 and maybe some of my favorite episodes of 3&4 since there was some good stuff in there but dang, a bit too rushed at the end. This shorter season is n thing has absolutely not been working out well. House of the dragon and now this... Ugh.

It is a Netflix series, so what did you expect? This was horrible for it being the last season of the show. Like many shows for that matter. It would have been great as a filler before the real final season tho 😂

I think the plot should have shift from an apocalypse being caused by one of the Hargreaves to their father Reggie being the villain. Now that they reset the universe he knows this even though it’s another timeline of him due to his aliens powers and he and his wife are trying to run the world and trans form it into a new home for them so they can begin to take over the world re establish his species on it . They dive deeper into his story and why he got the umbrella togethers and how more on how they got their power and his over all plan. They defeat him with the help of pogo and grace and they realize that in order to kill him and stop his plan they have to kill the marigold inside of them as it is somehow connected to his plan but and they will be reborn as normal children no powers and with parents and they won’t know each other or ever remember their previous life together as step siblings in the umbrella academy. They successfully do it and we see scenes of everyone living normal and separate lives as if it all never happened and was all a dream maybe one of the siblings wakes up from this dream to his normal life.

You left out the main reason why fans tuned out. The characters changed way to much over the seasons and were like a whole different person 🙃

Honestly... the finale ruined the series for me. Its the "it was all a dream" too the max.. it kind of gets rid of all aduience investment in the story. Poor writing, so much so, they couldve taken a creative writing ciurse and known better. Its basic imo

I dont care what Rotten Tomatoes says. I make up my own mind. Currently halfway the season and i'm still interested where it is going. It's weird and unpredictable.

The same thing they did with sex education 😭. Netflix has also ruined umbrella academy. Sex education felt so rushed and most of the characters we knew were not explored much... The same thing this time. Klaus, Klaus is my favorite character in the show. But these Netflix bozos didn't write his story well. Diego and Luther also deserved some power upgrades, which was so unfair. They also didn't explain why the others got power upgrades. I'm heart broken.

Season 3 was forgettable and bad. Season 4 is mass character assassination.

I liked all the seasons but this one... felt rushed and forced into this finale.
