The Lead trumpet part brought tears to my eyes when I played it with our ensemble.

I remember playing this in the 2015 high school state honors project, and I don't think I've ever experienced the amount of chills I did during that performance, ever since. The harmonies/dissonance are just WOW

We played this as our ballad during marching band my freshman year. Absolutely a masterpiece. Easily my favorite part of the show.

This has to be my favorite rendition. The first trumpet brought tears to my eyes, the low brass and winds are unified as could be. A beautiful array of dark colors produced by the impeccable ensemble playing -- sound for sore ears, for sure.

This is NOT a " song ". It is a piece of music. A song is a piece of music for VOICE!

@@sgsmozart Well… originally it is for voice. In fact, it’s originally for ONLY voices. Therefore it is a band arrangement of a SONG.

That is one hell of a sound between the tubas and bass trombones. Wow! I am privileged to be friends with the principal tubist Evan Zeigel and Brendan Ige. I would love to be studio mates with those guys.

I couldnt ever play this song because I got the chills too much. I played oboe and the chills would literally destroy my ability to maintain an embouchre.

I miss seeing Andrew Findley's face turning super red when he played the trumpet towards the climax (he was our trumpet soloist so he got that part that stood out) I miss wind ensemble :(

Unpopular opinion. I prefer the instrumental/wind, variation of this beautiful piece, over the the Vocal.

I agree, the trumpets are too bright too early on. Maybe it's just the concert hall. Also there are some phrasing choices that are weird, probably due to not having the lyrics to give context.

As a trumpet I was looking at them buried in the music instead of hearing the cue from the other side of the room. Not the maestro. Other than that, I enjoyed. Very bad entrances
