The red itself is a trick to get people to be able to claim the name of someone who doesn't exist. It never defines who "Kanon" is, rather that a piece named Kanon must claim the name of Kanon. Also of note, it never specifies if multiple "Kanon"s could simultaneously exist or what the definition of a "person" is. As long as these concepts can be argued and the speaker has a clear intent, red text may be used.

the way to slip past that red truth is pretty clear though. it means that if kanon is killed, for example Krauss cannot inherit that name. but if the person named kanon also had a different name, there is no problem

@@twiinapocalyp2e2 You know I previously would have gone with that explanation or something similar, but now I find it hard to believe. I stand from the premise that with only the first four novels you can solve the game (major motif of novel 5 is that the game is solvable with that alone), but if you really were using only that information and saw that red statement then why would you try to get around it? No, you would take it at face value. I actually prefer to think that this statement is a plot hole, because otherwise means the mystery solving was UNFAIR. There is a difference between it just being difficult and so well hidden, and just going against common sense.
