If for a moment we had like a frame where they changed their aspect to look like Bern and Lambda, oh boy. The meltdown of the fandom would have made Chernobil look like a dentist x-ray test.
it's forced hype, really. sure the tie-in is neat, but from the moment Satoko met Eua and got her looper-powers, this was just about where everyone expected Sotsu to go.
I heard someone say, “what was so difficult simply showing Bern and Lambda” but I think it’s because they’re not Bern and lambda but more like pieces of them, once they’re not loopers they’re just Rika and Satoko Still a nice reference to umineko
Really? I’m not so sure about that. I think they’re not Bern and Lambda just yet, but they will become I guess in another series in the future or game. Or at least that’s how I take that ending. After all, we just saw how Featherine became Hannyu.
@@clarkebarrett1865 Lambda already exists by the time Higurashi starts, she was the one to give Takano certainty in success and later gave Satoko the same power. Both Takano and Satoko have references in their names to Lambdadelta/34. Bernkastel is the difficult one to explain with Higurashi Sotsu ending like this, Rika lets go of her Bern personality in Rei but you can see it here in Sotsu. Plus Umineko mentions Bern was born after solving a Logic error that apparently, we never get to see but I already suspected the cause would have been Eua's defeat by Hanyuu's sword.
@@RookieSenpaii I mean yeah, she exists, but that’s because she can travel through alternative worlds and time, so why would it be no possible for Lambdadelta being the future self of Satoko? And doing all that stuff for whatever reasoning she had.
To me, when they said, "We'll meet again when that something cries," it was an acknowledgment after all this time that this "story" never really seems to have a definitive end; somewhere, in some situation, there will always be something waiting to "cry out," and that is where their destiny lies.
No the story, THIS story, the Hinamizawa story has an end like a game of chess has an end. If one game of chess ends does that mean every game of chess in the world ends? Of course not. If someone starts a new game of chess does that mean the previous completed games of chess got started again? Of course not. Every run through, every DnD campaign, every game is different. Just because you use the same queen, bishop, knight, and pawn pieces doesn't mean everyone in the world plays an endless game of chess that are connected to one another. They're just game pieces. They're just being put away for the time being. And when the players feel like playing again they'd be arranged on the board once again.
@@straypaper But this isn't merely a game where pieces get put away; these are lives who are, for whatever reason, destined to loop again and again. Each chess game is its own independent tale and doesn't involve unique souls with their own goals, desires, and volition; the lives and destinies in this anime are interconnected based on goals, desires, and volition, and it was in fact that connection and those things that allowed for such complex manipulation, because a young girl's goal was to fulfill her desire to keep her friend eternally with her, and she, of her own iron volition, set out to do just that, "pawn" that she was. Lives aren't just something with cookie-cutter beginnings and endings. They meld and flow together and will bring something old to whatever new thing finally decides that its volition and destiny too must be heard..."when they cry."
@@bloodlustfulincubus440 They're pieces. Plain and simple. Their feelings and volitions or whatever you said is just as unique as how knights moves in an L shape while bishops move diagonally, which is to say they're not unique. You can easily put them away in a box, then when you open them again the club member pieces will always want to live a peaceful life.
After seeing this and looking back at all of Higurashi and Umineko, I think I understand who Lambda is now. I think Lambda is just the embodiment of the desire for Rika to lose, hence why Lambda has connections with both Satoko and Takano. This would also even further explain why Lambda is so in love with Bern. 'Cause Bern is literally the amalgamated souls of all the Rika's who lost. What's more, this would explain why despite Lambda having obvious connections with Takano, she never makes any references to Takano besides that one time. Because since Takano just wanted Rika to lose to become a god while Satoko wanted Rika to lose to be with her, it would make more sense that her Satoko side would be more prominent. This would also clear up some of the time inconsistencies the Satoko is Lambda Theory has. Because even if it was in a roundabout way, the desire for Rika to lose existed before Rika's losses. And I know the way I wrote this is confusing, but I just didn't wanna write endlessly about this, okay? So if you have any questions or need more elaboration, just comment on that and I'll get back to you.
In general, Rika, Satoko, Takano are manifestations of higher beings such as Lambdadelta and Bernkastel. Higurashi is just their game board and nothing more. Witches fall into oblivion if boredom strikes them and to avoid such an outcome they try to save themselves by entertaining themselves by traveling through the shards. When the game ends, the manifestations continue to gather dust on the game board (although it depends on the wishes of the higher beings themselves, they can both elevate them to witch status, and after the end of the game personally throw them into oblivion).
I like your interpretation a lot. The simple answer if Satoko = Lambda is just too on the nose and doesn't add up to all the current knowledge given in all of Umineko. The idea of Lambda being a manifestation of the desire to see Rika - and in turn Bernkastel- lose is a great way to view it. The witches, imo, aren't always a direct spawn of a person, more so of a concept. Bern isn't Rika, she is the 100yrs of failure and doubt cast away from Rika when she finally accepted her life after the win against Takano. She is the witch of Miracles because she wouldn't exist if not for that 1 in a million chance of victory. So the idea of Lambda being the spite and certainty of Bern's opponents (ie Takano and now Satoko) I think perfectly encompasses the obsession Lambda has with Bern. She loves her, and obsesses over her, but yearns to see her humiliated and defeated.
@@Smertex why tf Keiichi didn't become higher being when he's the one who broke the loop when Battler become higher being... Is the Author being a simp?! I hope the Author give the boys in his franchise a screen time damn!!
@@davidarvingumazon5024 Buttler was originally given the status of a player (the one who stands above the game board) and afterwards the owner of the game (witch) meaning he has both the form of a pawn on the game board and the higher form. Keiichi, on the other hand, is just a pawn on the game board without any higher manifestation
@@Bepbo There are at least a few games where only Bernkastel (for example Alice) or only Lambda-delta (for example Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni) is involved. This perfectly demonstrates to us that Lambda is not the spawn of Ricky's desire. Next, let's move on to another question. Berne is Rika. More precisely, no, that would not be correct. Rika is Bernkastel's avatar for the duration of the Higurashi game. The Witch of Miracles is just a status in the witches' domain, and her real concept is to create probabilities, just like Lambdadelta, only Lambdadelta can regulate it, while Bernkastel's concept is random probability (which is what "Miracle" is all about). This concept is the highest form of Bernkastel's manifestation, as is Lambdadelta's control of probabilities. Now we come to the main question. Why are Bernkastel and Lambda so close? It's all very simple. Because their concepts are antithetical. One creates probabilities, the other randomly generates them.
This just feels like a direct confirmation that they are gonna continue and remake umineko. It's too perfect of a lead in. Saying "they will meet again when something else crys"
When Rikas eyes lit up so stood the hair on the back of my neck. I was like, "Oh shit boy here we go again round 2." But in all honesty, this could just be a nod to Umineko. Anime's based on visual novels have a tendency to make that connection to their counter parts. I will remain optimistic because Umineko needs a reboot, hell they could even do Ciconia.
Now I haven't started Ciconia, but I will say that the "We'll meet again when something else cries" at the end of both stories makes me simply assume we'll see Bern in a later phase or episode
Well there's a manga coming with a slightly different ending so that tells me that they could extend the ending in the manga I actually predicted this would happen all the way back in Higurashi gou there were some people who thought it wouldn't happen but most people agreed with my theory kind of cool when you can solve the mystery of Higurashi
The fact that they straight up copied The Parting dialogue you're right it's not a hint it's a confirmation that they are split from me to witches I already predicted this all the way back and higurashi gou
This is basically for every gameboard they will/are playing. In each WTC story they are playing a different character, may it be pieces, avatar etc.. Bern even confirms this in Umineko Saku.
@furudo_erika The day a studio decides to make a 70(in my opinion the minimum needed to do a proper adaptation) plus episode series that isn’t seasonal shounen is the day a jump down the local waterfall.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one who noticed this a jaw dropped the best part about this is I predicted this since higurashi gou this you see I got curious as soon as Feathine I basically read all of umineko before higurashi gou finished it took a lot of staying up 24 hours and then every other day going to sleep a little early but spending my free time on those days still reading that's how I got through it fast enough and I'm glad it got me to finish reading Umineko because the manga turn me into a fan of Umineko I mean I always knew it was sort of connected because I read the original manga series of Higurashi and I watched the anime but it still is pretty amazing that I was able to predict what was going to happen I'm calling it confirmed because they basically did they just wanted to see if the hardcore fans of wouldn notice first and I certainly did with certainty I'm had to make that pun I had to pull a Lambadadelta they're going to make a manga to this and they're going to change the ending of what I think they're going to do is just added extra part to the ending where it shows the two witches and the OVA will also touch on it probably more or maybe the OVA will just be a comedy who knows I've been known to make comedy series but I cannot wait because I know now that there's definitely going to be a Umineko and when they get a Umineko remake anime series I hope they follow the manga a lot more closely than the anime did because the anime is the reason I was so hesitant I didn't like the anime to Umineko and at first I was hesitant about the manga but Higurashi changed my mind and got me to go read Umineko I then realized that you had to give it a chance and get to at least the third Loop and it would start getting better and after that after I read it it was also one of my favorite Series in the when they cry franchise I like it as much as Higurashi
Come on... It's not even a hint, it's like slapping your face with the fact. I can't believe anyone still doubts these two are Bern and Lambda's pieces.
Honestly, I feel like they're trying to mislead us, if they make a new umineko anime though, will it be a sequal? Part 2 of it or something? Or a redo of the anime in better quality is what I wonder.
they'll just redo it since the old anime of umineko was just a huge shitshow on soo many stuff being missing and not even finished since there was still 4 more games missing, plus there is extra stuff they can add so just might as well redo it correctly fully with all 8 games
I believe that umineko witch are the same but not the same person. as hinted in the anime that the reality where they live are connected but different at the same time.
I really want to dive in but I’m skeptical about starting a VN with no ending in sight, unless phase 2 is actually gonna be the last part. I know zero about how it’s structured, just assuming it will follow the standard 8 arc 07th formula.
I think I can match with Rika and Bernkastel Remember rika say at hospital Rika? : I should return be Rika furude rather Then be witch Bernkastel Well satoko and lambda have match hohoho laugh and it only my theory thus far
The thing is, like all past references in his other works 007 just puts things like this in to make breadcrumb references that don’t go anywhere. It’s just a marketing ploy to make you think Umineko & Ciconia have something big to do with the plot so you’ll go and buy the VNs and other items
Lambda and Bern are just pieces and furnitures to Money Deity, and Ryukishi07 being the puppeteer and the real villain of Higurashi and Umineko. Ryukishi07 just want to become like Herobrine in Minecraft. Umineko's the Creator is just Ryukishi07's self-insert OC.

I’m convinced the entirety of Gou and Sotsu was an analogy for mending a toxic relationship, there is a longing to be together but much like real life being surrounded by your significant other 24/7 is bad for both of you, time apart is necessary.
This is was made me enjoy it despite its flaws. I have ended some really toxic friendships in the last couple years, and even thinking about all the shitty things those people have done to me, I'll never be able to hate them. But I wouldn't want to see them ever again

AHHH so Satoko did end up paying in a way by living in a world without Rikia, but in a good way. At long last Rika's suffering is over. I knew it, I knew it!!! I FORGIVE YOU ALL!!!* 😭😭😭 Episode Highlights: 1. That demon EUA finally paid for her crimes!!! I'm so happy Hanyu defeated her!!! I guess we will never know who she is!? And they were never the same person, they must come from the same origin of power! 2. Crazy how Hanyu used the very weapon that split her horn!!! I so happy she lived!! 😍 3. Got to love Rika and Satoko Naruto moment, lol 4. Satoshi is back!!! Of course R07 will never let us see him meet Satoko and Keeichi... 5. Rika and Satoko are immortal now!? lol *6. Whatever was controlling Satoko left her body when she said "Alright Satoko Hojo" I'll give you your life back.* 7. Chibi EUA is a thing now? lol 8. This is the first canon use of the 'Dear You' soundtrack!!! 9. I will never forgive Takano, but I might have a change of heart for Satoko, as long as Rika is free!!! Besides, Rikia will be back in 3 years!!! At long last, the debates sinces 2009 (Rei) are over!!! Higurashi will forever be a _stand-alone_ masterpiece. And even got a better ending than Kai!!!! I'm so glad I got to live to see GOU and Sotsu! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😍😍
