Boone was primed because the Ump did the same exact shit to Judge on the previous inning on the same spot by as wide a margin if not a bit more than this one. And funny enough after Boone clapped him he got much better, didn't miss a call by that much in that spot again for the rest of the game. So maybe Umps need a clap sometimes that's all.

It's not even the fact that he blew the call. It's that he blew the call and then intentionally tried to escalate the situation. That type of behavior should investigated by the league with penalties up to being a fireable offense. The ump is expected to be neutral, and to stare down a bench and provoke a manager like that is unprofessional.

What gets me is how _every_ umpire doesn't stand DIRECTLY OVER HOME PLATE so they can see BOTH sides and to stop standing opposite the side where the catcher sets up. This makes it impossible to see if the ball is even going over the plate or not! This is a huge reaaon why so many umps make so many bad calls. It absolutely befuddles me that at umpire school the first damn thing that should be taught is to on EVERY pitch stand directly over the center of the plate! Damb so simple but this knowledge eludes EVERY umpire. Amazing!!
