Delle qualità e doti vocali della grandissima Maria Callas nessuno osi mettere anche il minimo dubbio... A meno che si parli di gusti personali.. Ma la Callas è a tutt'oggi insuperabile anche a livello di recitazione, una dote naturale e innata... Callas forever!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A dire il vero, da un punto di vista prettamente tecnico, c’era qualche esponente del bel cantare che veniva considerata superiore, vedi Renata Tebaldi. La Callas però aveva quel “che” di magico che l’ha fatta diventare una leggenda assoluta, sopra ogni altra leggenda del settore

Porque lo lirico se canta con todo tu ser y eso hacia Maria Callas!!Hay voces técnicas en lo lirico pero no estremecen!!De partida si no te gusta lo lirico es muy difícil comprender..pasa también con los cantos de los castrati que muchos no les gusta..a mi me sorprenden depende'quien lo cante..He aprendido a apreciar pero es algo muy personal..

Se questo video è stato raccomandato ad una persona non amante della lirica o di questa in particolare, è ovvio che metterà un dislike per prevenire la comparsa di video simili. purtroppo il tutto influisce sulla recensione del video

Oceans of tears fill when Puccini's opera is sung by Callas. Here in late 2023, there is, imho, one who achieves the high second level to Callas' pinnacle, Asmik Gregorian. Her voice to me is great enough to feel the intense feelings our sorely longed for Callas can no longer share with us. Asmik will be performing Madame Butterfly at the Met in NYC in April 2024. Yet still, there is a hole in so many, many opera fans' hearts as we long for that voice, those feelings, that comfort we would never be disappointed. Callas dedicated herself, pleasant or not, over a lifetime as a deliverer of perfection. Gregorian is in her prime; she's a delight; she's not Callas; but not singing side by side, she's an exceptional gift.

Mia mamma ha compiuto da pochi giorni 100 anni. E quando io e mio fratello eravamo bambini ce la cantava tutta facendo anche le scene.ora è in una RSA e io gli metto il cellulare vicino all orecchio..sente poco ma gli scendono le lacrime e piangiamo insieme 😢😢😢😢

I am really at a loss to understand how these two sublime artists could have ever been compared. Tebaldi had a ravishing vocal endowment and she was a wonderfully disciplined artist. No reason whatsoever to compare her and Maria Callas. Both had different attributes, sought different artistic goals, and really specialized in their own respective repertoires. Tebaldi was a modern Twentieth Century soprano whose repertoire was rooted in Puccini and the verismo composers, as well as a few Verdi roles. Ms Tebaldi’s voice is bright and girlish and dark and angry and hopeful and playful, as -I think- the voice of Choi Choi in Madame Butterfly should sound. Callas' art was rooted in a much earlier period (bel canto) and she had a three octave range which enabled her to undertake everything. Callas did perhaps not have the vocal velvet of Tebaldi. She was a different artist altogether. Bashing one against the other is stupid and shows an innate ignorance about music. Two different artistic approaches COMPLETELY. Both divas defined a period in Italian opera that we will not likely encounter again.

Maria Callas was misquoted from an interview she gave. She once apparently said something like, it would be like trying to compare fine champagne with fine congnac. People loving controversy, real or contrived, substituted the word congnac with cokeacola.

As a teenage boy , I was waiting for a bus home from school. To kill time , I browsed in a record shop that was in the Bus terminal. I don't remember why I bought this album , It was 1960 and a long time ago . The Album was La Boheme , Renata Tebaldi , Carlo Bergonzi conductor was Tullio Serafin . I took the album home and went directly to my room to listen to it. I sat mesmerized through the entire performance. Although my understanding of Italian was cursory ,the music was sufficient to understand this opera. At the end , I wept and was very glad that I was alone . My reaction to Tebaldi's singing and voice was something I had never experienced before. Overwhelming ! A very personal experience and somewhat unique. Today , at 80 years old , I still have the same reaction when I listen to her . Yes , Renata will always be special to me. I agree that is it pointless to compare these two wonderful sopranos. We were lucky to have them both.

I simply canNOT understand how you can compare superb artists to one another. They are simply almost perfect but different. You like some voice more than another, you prefer one opera or Lied or whatever, orchestras or conductors may be different. Please admire or possibly do not like one or another, BUT DO NOT COMPARE

Merci pour votre précision. Toutefois, pour votre parfaite information, mon commentaire était à l'attention de la mémoire du ténor Tony Poncet. Un superbe "Pagliacci" que j'ai eu la chance d'entendre plusieurs fois à l'Opéra de Liège. Je ne sais pourquoi celui-ci s'est retrouvé attaché à une interprétation de Maria Callas, pour laquelle, j'éprouve une très grande admiration.
