In this video, Gold Coast University Hospital specialist obstetrician Dr Luke Waldrip explains what can contribute to a non-result with a NIPT test.
The takeaway message is:
1. Don't panic;
2. Get a re-test;
3. Most of the time, everything will be okay.

My nipt came back twice with low fetal fraction. Once at 12 weeks and another and 16 weeks 😞 Everything looked normal on my 13 week NT scan and my 18 week anatomy scan. This is an ivf pregnancy and have been taking baby aspirin for 10 months. Not sure if the baby aspirin would have any effect on the test as well.. Any thoughts? I declined the amniocentesis. Thank you for your help

@@rachelcrista2342 First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! 🤩❤️ Second, yes, I really understand the anxiety 😟 I don’t think the aspirin would have an effect on the test. I really admire and understand your decision not to have an amniocentesis. I understand the desire to minimise any risk to your baby 🥰🤗 I think IVF pregnancies are more likely to return NIPT tests with low fetal fraction and the fact that your scans are looking normal is a great sign 👍😀 Keep having growth scans throughout your pregnancy 👍 That was recommended to us and it was reassuring every time things looked normal. Good luck with your pregnancy 🥰😀 Whoever is growing inside of you is very lucky to have a wonderful mum like you and they will bring you much joy 😊❤️😊❤️👍
