It's not a 100% true in motocross. Back in 1991 or so an AMA Motocross race in California was shortened to just ONE moto because a lake formed in the bottom. In 1998 the Motocross des Nations in Foxhill was not cancelled but it is the ONLY MxdN ever to have been raced in multiple layouts of one track. Also, in 2008 the Spanish GP only raced 2 and a half of the 4 motos (MX2's race 2 was shortened while MX1's was straight-up cancelled) and then in 2009 the Italian GP in Faenza was also shortened to 3 motos (MX1 race 2 got cancelled). About the 1998 MxdN = · The only full laps were done during the initial 125cc vs 500cc race. · The layout for the 125cc vs 250cc was slightly shortened and Stefan Everts lapped the full field including a young Ricky Carmichael. · The layout was shortened even more for the 250cc vs 500cc race and Everts dominated again but a couple of guys made it the full distance.
@Diego Ruiz Foxhills in 1998 was one of the greatest races ever! Everybody who's crying bout the weather in Red Bud now must have seen that race in England. It was just unbelievable, and Stefan Everts totally was from another planet that day! ALL others were only trying to survive somehow, but Everts was just cruising arround and lapped everyone. For sure the best mud rider of all times!
Btw Indonesia in '17 was another horrible mud race. The second mx2 race was shortened when half of the field was hanging in one place, and the second mx1 race was cancelled. Since then they do TWO GPs in Indonesia every year, so that if something happens again with the weather the guys wouldn't have made the long trip only for a few laps. Quite weird logic somehow....
Fuck Barcia ! If he could still win a race the whole bam bam thing might be cool but when your acting all aggressive and finishing outside the top 15 ( in other races ) it just turns into kind of a joke
Yeah i think marv was actually faster that day at high point but eli is at the point where he is smart and stupid fast. Both times this year marv had the edge on eli, eli finds a way to get out without losing any points to marv. The only time he lost points really is when his bike took a shit on him. I think we are seeing a more mature eli now with the speed of bubba but the smarts of dungey where he can better manage the season limiting risks to stay leading in points. Eli clearly just settled for 2nd moto 2 realizing the risk of putting on a charge isnt worth it in that situation.
@@nekulicious And here we are a year later going into Unadilla and your comment has aged rather well. Once again Eli is in control and rolling towards another championship.
@@keiannschyler he doesn’t. The last 4 years he doesn’t even mention when ANYONE takes him out (event intentionally). Like I totally agree he used to be a little vocal about it but he truly has not been in forever
