Unapologetically large - Boldr Odyssey 45 Review 

You know, there are people with large wrists and we would like more videos on large watches

I’m into large watches primarily from the standpoint of having an 8” wrist. It’s like finally finding the shirt you like in an XXL instead of trying to squeeze into an XL. BOLDR makes some nice pieces...bonus!

I really like what Boldr does. They offer a lot for the money, and are unique designs. Great review Dave!

I've got skinny wrists and have a watch that is 42mm. I really like the looks of this Boldr and would wear a 45mm. Thank you from reviewing this.

I do think that Large watches can have a place in a collection. I had a Bulova Precisionist that's 46.5 diameter & 17.5 think & i have a 6.5 inch wrist (on a beefy day) & while it took some getting used to. it ended up being a solid Summer watch i could wear that had a really unique look to it. & i ended up wearing it more than i ever expected (as i have a fair collection of watches).

I have one Boldr and love the angular case design...think this would be more wearable in a titanium case.

I have close to an 8in wrist & I love these large, chunky divers. If I didn't have a Zelos Abyss 3 3000m diver, I'd be getting this Odyssey 45 immediately. I also am into skindiver style watches, which are typically smaller in size. I can go as low as 38mm, anything below, ummm not for me lol. Great review!

Love this watch Dave! Certainly big, eats your wrist up for sure, I’m closer to an 8 inch wrist so I find 45’s fine for me but a 40-42 I have found is my sweet spot for wear. Another amazing review and video m8! You’re the best!

Interesting. The design and aesthetic of the dial is reminiscent of some of the models by Mühle Glashütte.

Don't listen to some of these people. I own a Seiko Turtle 45 mm with a 7 and 1/4 inch wrist and I love it and I own a Seiko Samurai 44 mm and I love it. Dive watches should be between 43 and 45 mm in my opinion

Yes , I have a 8 inch Wrist and I typically wear 45 to 50mm watches.

Love this watch already, large dial with presence on the wrist. Didn’t hear about Boldr until now but will keep looking at their site. Silver dial is gorgeous but would have liked to see a red burgundy dial.

I don't mind the size but it's very heavy I found. Still a cool watch though. Thanks Dave.

9:22 that river flow increases the water pressure, luckily you put the crown out of the water, but the case back is receiving all the pressure. You should have had in mind that the watch is only 500 m WR it is not an Omega Ploprof.

Not big watch guy, but am waiting for a Zelos Hammerhead 3 to arrive. Similar shape/size as this Boldr, but not as thick I believe. I like the dial on this better for sure and would have considered it.

Had it once and I sold it was huuuuuuuuuge even for my 8inch wrist

I know the two aren't necessarily the same category, but this size is quite normal in G-Shock land.

I could wear that size (wearing my Bulova Lunar this week), but it might be too much watch for me. Maybe too thick, maybe too heavy. I prefer my watch to fade into the background during the day. I do like the style elements - that dial, the lume, the case shape & finish. It has many positive attributes, but a little too brash and overt for me.

You mention several times how heavy the watch is, but I don't think you actually mention the weight (including bracelet). My heaviest watch is a Seiko Samurai with a Strapcode hexad bracelet at a total of 195g and I wouldn't want anything heavier than that. This watch case reminds me of the Samurai, with its angles and sharp cuts, but the Samurai is more than 3mm thinner. The dial is very nice. It reminds me of the Nodus Sector Pilot Flyer in copper with the textured center dial surrounded by a polished metal disk.

Aragon watches do sell well even though they do seem to a big watch company. Although, I have to say that I prefer their new 42mm watches, instead of their really big 50mm watches. That is BIG!

I have an 8 inch wrist, so this is right up my ally as far as size.

45 is just right for my 7.5 inch wrist, I own smaller & bigger but they do not get worn as much.

It was the Explorer GMT Dave :) Boldr is an interesting company that ive own the Expedition Eiger and the Venture and both had fantastic build quality but i just didn't connect with the watches and have sold them both on

I don't hate it, it's not too big for my 8 inch wrist. I'd probably rather a King Samurai though, similar enough size, shape and spec but with a cleaner dial and maybe a little more refinement of the case.

How bout Deep Blue at 44mm. Master 1000?

They should have done a double bracelet; then it would have resembled a two track tank. Good lookin watch.

i am getting used to smaller watches nowadays .... now wearing more watches around 34 to 40mm....i have about 7inch wrist .... i used to wear 42 to 46mm watches divers and fliegers ....but really 45mm isnt really that big , especially if it is a Tool/ professional purpose watch....

Cool watch, but yes: Too large. I think watch companies should make each watch at different size points to attract different audiences, one under 40, one over. Granted, it's not always feasible, but it would be nice!

I think the diameter of the watch face is the diameter my eyes focuses in on. The bezel not so much. and, as for weight after a while your wrist will feel "funny" without it on.

Really nice watch, but way to big for my puny 6 and 1/4 inch wrist.

The Boldr IS a Boulder. It's a Hummer for your wrist.

I don't understand this comments. If somebody has small wrist and he feels unconfortable with a 45 mm than why is he commenting about other peoples choice. If I have 20 cm wrist than I have to like 37mm watches just because the others are malnourished. Stupid . I feel very good with an omega seamaster planet ocean 45.5mm. Delighted. Can somebody pee in my taste?????I am listening🙃🙂

No disrespect to the company, but with the stats, I would call this a beefy dive/tool watch, but having seen it, I would call it more a dress watch rather than a diver. Not gelling with either the colour way or the strange center dial finish.

40/41mm is the best true mans size

45mm is big already, but the male endlinks which extend the effective lug-to-lug length is like an extra slap to the face for skinny wrist folk. A nice watch, but too big for me.

Why does your title say apologetically? Just so you aren't disappointed, that watch is TOO big. Who needs a hockey puck on their wrist? I'm enjoying a Boldr Venture with its wearable size.

Those "small wristed" little people need to grow, or go to the gym and get bigger. Who cares and who wants to hear them complaining all the time about watches being too big? OMG my girlfriend can rock a bigger watch than them. Grow up kids. Look at Arnold's or Sly's watches. Big? Cuz they're built.
