The world's greatest bricklayer did it again! Michael Schlund and his tender Aaron Kowalski won the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas. The back-to-back world champs returned in 2024 to win after beating dozens of teams at last year's competition. This year, the duo laid 752 bricks in 60 minutes.
Trade Hounds CEO David Bauders asked Schlund what it takes to be the best bricklayer in the world.
“A lot of practice and dedication. We built that wall 10 times before coming out here in the last two months,” Schlund said. “Back in 2015, we came out here with a couple of guys just to watch the competition. I thought I could do it so that following year I got into the regionals. It took the fourth regional before I won and made it out here.”
The "Super Bowl of Masonry" awarded winners over $125,000.
