I lived in 2 rental properties that looked similar. I cleaned them up only for the owner to sell the property because they looked good. One tried to keep my bond 😡 so I told them if they keep my bond I'll return the gardens to how they looked before and remove fencing I built and remove plants I planted. I got my bond back 😂. Good job guys.

I had a mate do similar. He added 6” fencing, gates and gardens. 6 months later the realestate said how nice it looked and that they were raising the rent. He removed everything he built and stopped paying for water to be wasted on the lawn. It took him another 2 rental’s to not care about having someone else’s property looking nice. He’s never had a rent increase in in about 8 years 😂

5 years ago when we moved here in Northern Rivers the removalist was horrified why we want to move to this place. It was so overgrown you could not see the house just like yours. Giant Figtree towering over the roof. Inside was dark and dingy. If that guy would come back today wouldn't believe how we transform the place. All big trees are gone the roof and the house is safe. Just as well last year we had stroms I am pretty sure those tree would of fallen on us. Well done cleaning up the place. Looks bare but will be amaizing. I did promissed all cut down trees get a smaller kinder replacement and so far I have honored my promisse. I am sure your native bush garden going to be stunning. It will take time but no hurry. So glad you got the loppers in. Good ones are amazing! I have them in every few years and they can coonvert huge trees, right next to the neighbours fence and can reduce them to logs for the fire and a huge mound of woodchip mulch in a few hours - with barely a leaf in the neighbours yard, let alone a branch. Worth their weight in gold! I’m in brizzy too and so glad you got rid of the bougainvillea (we used them instead of razor wire for security fencing in Port Moresby. Hate them. And Palm. And thank you for the 10 minute limit and fast forward images and calm voice overs instead of useless chatter that goes for hours. I’ve caught up with with your progress in a couple of days. 👏👏👏👏👏

Just subbed to your channel and watched all the previous videos, I used to do this for a living but hurt my back and had to stop, believe it or not I used to love doing it and I love watching others before and after videos, it's amazing what you can do and what a difference it makes, I'm really happy your going with natives and you will be to when it brings in all the wild life, you are really lucky to have those Black Mangroves and that little creek in the back yard, once they recover from being overtaken they will look nice again, I used to go crabbing in a small creek like this and it was surprising what you can get in them, all the big fish come up after the smaller bait fish and crabs love it, that snake would of only of been half the size of the skin as the skin is stretched from under and over the scales and they are good to have around to keep rodents away, I was watching and hoping you didn't cut the paperbark the rest were pretty much weeds anyway, I look forward to seeing your progress, Thank you for sharing.

I understand how you feel but I think it's great that they have removed a number of non native species that are quite invasive. They have said they will be planting a lot of native species which is far more beneficial to the local wildlife. With a garden in this overgrown state, this was the only way they could have done it. Things grow quickly in this environment, so I think we'll see their native garden take shape in a short time.

Looks amazing guys. We bought a mid 90’s house a few years ago and started updating bit by bit, but a year ago we went all in with a full interior renovation. We are about to embark on new landscaping and had to remove a few nuisance trees that had been planted in the wrong places 25+ years ago. The garden was very overgrown, outdated and had not been regularly maintained. It was also full of high maintenance, water devouring plants. We are going low maintenance native with a more modern edge than the previous rose garden. We look forward to following your journey.

If they didn't say it was a 90's house I would have guessed 80's maybe even 70's. There's some much older elements. Guessing someone liked some dated things when they built the house
@traceybradshaw
@traceybradshaw Год назад
@@Lea-bw9wj it does look more 80’s to me, might be very early 90’s? I built my first home in 95 and the kitchens, bathrooms and fitting were definitely more modern. The house I grew up in was built in 78 and the taps and bathrooms do look more similar to those. I had a friend whose parents built multiple new homes over the years, but they were all stuck in the 80’s because they had a style they liked. I never understood why they built a new house, only to make it look just like their old one 🙃

To all the busy bodies in the comment section, if you have trees on your own land and you love them that is great, you keep them and enjoy them. However, this is not your property and the trees which were planted here was someone else’s vision. The new owners have their own vision of how they want their own property to be. They will plant the trees that they love and enjoy. Obviously the previous owners loved their vision and how they wanted things to be, but this is not their property anymore and they have moved on. Please stop criticising these new owners for having their own vision for what they want on their own piece of paradise. Thank you 🙏🏼

@@sroberts605 you have to have scorched earth to make a nice lawn and I’m sure that’s the plan. At the end of the day S Roberts, it makes no difference how sad you are or what you or I think, the new owners will do what they want because the property is theirs to do so. I’m sure you’ve done things to your property that I myself and many others would hate, just as I have probably done the same. The thing is, some of the comments were such that would make the owners feel bad, and none of us should be doing that because they’re only sharing their dream with all of us. Wrong kind of trees to be growing so close to the house. Replacing them with native plants will attract native birds to the yard and be less likely to invade underground pipes or drop heavy branches. Have you seen the video that was in the news of the 5 metre python slithering from a roof to nearby trees? That would put anyone off having trees close to the house, particularly when they’ve already had that snakeskin.
@Lea-bw9wj
@Lea-bw9wj Год назад
You should never have tree's that close to a house. They looked like they might not have been healthy. Plus if they are Gum Trees you really don't wont them close to your house. There's a very good reason they have a nick name of widow makers.
@PhilipBurton-dn3ce
@PhilipBurton-dn3ce Год назад
@@Lea-bw9wj a small number, maybe 2 or 3, of the hundreds of Eucalypts are known as widow makers, the worst one is actually Angophora floribunda, its not a Euc, that grove over by the fence could have been left with under plantings of ferns/cycads, instantly establishing a lovely rain foresty visual affect of a large area away from the house, job done, money in pocket, very little work for large impact and lot of time/money saving in the long run, but hey, they might have hated the idea I've made "mistakes" with properties I've bought so I am in no way judging or condemning them, I have however worked in horticulture for 40yrs, you learn to see the potential of "stuff" others cant, rejuvenate the garden, live with it, work out functionality to your life and go from there, turning a potentially quaint "Hobbit" garden into a snooker table is just not something I would suggest, but again, they might like snooker tables or have lots of money to pay landscapers I'm just stoked they have their own home, very happy for them to be able to achieve in an economy like this, big thumbs up to them 👍👍
