Something that I haven't seen in any review is that no one uses RAW photos to experience the sensor's true capabilities. I don't have it on hand yet, but I have some 50MP RAW photos taken with it and comparing the automatic Lightroom treatment done on the RAW photo is infinitely better than the automatic modes (lightroom jpg export compared to the auto-generated jpg that comes with DNG RAW version). In summary, what I have to say: anyone who reviews a camera without including RAW in the analysis, if RAW is available, is doing an incomplete review, if they classify the camera based on photos taken in automatic modes, they are sabotaging the device (that's what's happening with the Mi 13 Ultra)

main reason is a RAW takes up too much space on a card. I rarely shoot raw because printing up to A4 you just don't need that extra detail because the human eye just can't see the difference.

@@TKBay which one would you take 1st overall? I'm in the USA on t mobile and not sure if I want to wait for the Xiaomi 13 ultra global or the Oppo Find X6 Pro even though it has a Chinese rom. Do you have connectivity issues on your Oppo? And I would imagine the Xiaomi international will have better connectivity then both the one you have now and the Oppo. Or a complete wildcard the Huawei P60 Pro ranked number one on DxO.

It's the thoughtfulness and intentionality that really puts this phone above the rest for me. Was thinking about the Sony Xperia 1 V but Sony seems to hold back just enough on the hardware side to make me wonder. Not sure if we'll see an Xperia Pro I -ii which I was hoping for. But the photography kit and everything just screams "we thought about content creators and photographers" from Xiaomi. No one else has done that since the Nokia Lumia 1020 which I still own to this day with the grip case.

Just got my xiaomi 13 pro week ago imported from china to Europe for 790eur 12+256gb variant, because in europe its not only not available but if it was, starting price is 1.3k. Just wondering if i did good decision since 13 ultra was also released. That 120w charging is just amazing and during basic usage phone last up to 3 days. Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is great chip compared to overheating 888 and 8 gen 1

@Actually no problems in Germany or Belgium coast. Most of the Time LTE+. Chinese Modell with EU Rom Flash. Use Vodafone and O2

f 1.9 to f4.00 on most camera is 3 stops . So, your daylight shutter speed on a bright day is say 1,0000 sec with an iso of 250 . 3 stops up you still shooting at 250/second or 1,0000 sec with an ISO of up to 1600 .Thats plenty bright enough considering you can go to hand held at 1/90th or even 1/60th second. I shoot regularly at F5.6 to F22 depending on what i want , so you F4 is never ever going to make you run out of light in the day. You have to remember to photographers the sweet spot for sharpness is F5.6 to F8 and your still way below that.

4K front camera is easily possible up to 30FPS. Download mcpro24fps or open camera. Night and day difference. The only thing why I returned the 13 Ultra was the really really bad HDR, or the lack of it, on the front camera and the lack of autofocus on the front camera. Apart from the front camera, the phone is perfect.

Personally, 1. Xiaomi 13 Ultra 2. Oppo Find X6 Pro 3. Huawei P60 Pro. The Global version is our already and it's easily obtainable. You do get Google services on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra from the get go, and the camera versatility on that device is quite impressive. Oppo is a close second, and honestly it would be first because the latest June Update patched the front facing camera to do 4K finally, so it's a win in that book. The problem is the ROM is Chinese and even though you can side load Google Play services you might miss out on a few features. It does support 5G like the 13 Ultra though. Huawei is another great phone, but again, it's hard to get a global version and there's no Google services, which many people need on Android. The cameras are impressive personally with the variable aperture option. If that wasn't an issue I'd say a good substitute would be the Honor Magic 5 Pro which you can get globally. Image processing is all going to be subjective, and I do not take DXOMark seriously with their scoring system. That being said it's in the eye of the beholder who takes the shots that determine what makes a shot great.

TKB I have just watched your xiaomi 13 ultra such an amazing review thanks I'm coming to NY on 29th Oct and have a pixel 7 Pro at moment (plus fold 5) but am seriously looking at this plus the phone kit. I can only get Chinese rom have you had any issues is everything English or is there still some Chinese language ?? Any issues with Google pay and other services (I know auto won't work) I want the very best phone and camera for my first time in new York especially as its my honeymoon. Also any issues with OTA updates? When I had the oppo find x6 pro I had to use a vpn Also you said you could update the gallery on Google photo any issues with location data? Again had issues with the find x6 pro where the map was wrong all the time Thanks in advance and hope you reply or any of your viewers who have used this phone before I commit to buy

You can get Global Rom anywhere I chose Ali express and at $1340AU that's cheap and I just noticed it has dropped to $1240AU.

Which have better camera system? This one or SONY EXPERIA 1 V? Currently I am having the Vivo x90 pro plus. Do I find a difference if I switched?

So honestly you already have an amazing camera system with a great sensor. What I would probably say to you is the 13 Ultra is more of a manual mode version of what you have with more options to control light aperture as well as depth of field in your images. Sony is going to give you an all around better solution to higher sensor images and the ability of content creation and editing on the vice. The color science that we get now with Sony is better they're introducing post processing and the new main sensor on the back. But all three devices have a very different approach to photography and if you like the x90 Pro Plus then I think the 13 Ultra would be a better solution for you. Hope this helps

@@TKBay thanks for the most relibale answer that is hard to get ealse where! I am a Sony a7riii shooter, thats why the Expeia was interisting as it share lots of my camera menu, theme and features. It could assist as a monitor also, however I was hoping that they come up with imx989 1 inch for all there lenses on experia. Yes it would be expensive but photographers will defenatly buy it. I wish they also implemeng same 1.4 lense that the p60 pro from Hwaui have. Thanks again for your answer and seems that I will wait till next experia having the vivo for the current time. they seem to be experimenting with the Ultra line, the 11 to 12s to the 13 ultra we see the shift in design and Leica is pushing them into the a great camera system and better color science,

For notifications you have to go into battery settings and allow the apps you want notifications from to run in the background. I have a Vivo X70 pro+ Chinese edition no issues w notifications or google
