Instagram- AdamTheWooATW This was quite a day , one I’ll never forget . The last moments when cast members did final rides really got me . Hundreds cheering on bridge and the phone lights in air was a vibe to behold.
If I couldn't be there this was the next best thing...to see the historical Woo perspective. Loved seeing the ATW t-shirts (your tribe) and...was that your doppelganger!? Well done!!
Thank you for staying until the very end and showing the CM’s last ride and them being cheered off as they were leaving their shift. Not gonna lie- I was sobbing.❤️
Hi. I'm across the pond. I nearly teared up to. So emotional it really got me. Any sad thing makes me cry. I'm a big softie. from 🇬🇧👍👍 an old cockney gal
@@katevalentine7075 😂 very well aware that it isn’t going anywhere and simply being re-themed. I live 20 minutes from the parks. I don’t think Adam misrepresented anything! He showed the day for those that were interested in watching. My comment was in regards to watching the CM’s be cheered on and respected by the crowds and them being honored with the last ride on the Splash Mountain version of the ride.
Who would of thought the closing of a ride would turn into the social event of the year? I'm glad the cast members were able to be the last people on the ride.
What a day! I never , in a million years, thought I would get emotional about the last day of Splash Mountain; but those people cheering the riders, then cast members at the end of the day really got to me❤️ Thank you Adam for taking that entire day and night, and sharing it with us!
Okay, watching the CMs take the last logs down and then the applause as they left.........THAT got to me! Thank you CMs for all of the magic you help create at the Disney parks!! We love you! Thanks Adam for covering that one of a kind moment for them to treasure and for us to partake in!
I wasn't prepared for how emotional this would be! I rode it in 1992, it's debut year. My Dad took my sister and me to Disney to soften the blow of my parents divorcing. I was just 9 and it was a hard time for me. But we had an amazing time! It was the NEW ride! I remember all the ads on constantly. I had a huge imagination and I remember thinking that maybe I could sneak off the log and stay in the laughing place 😂...kids are just silly like that. I just turned 40, and I really wish I could have been there for a last Splash. Thank you for making me feel like I was. 😪🥲
I'm going to miss Slash Mountain! Really wish they weren't getting rid of it. Great job on this video Adam, you did such a nice job capturing this day.
@@TheDailyWoo When any of you are in Atlanta, you may want to visit the Briar Patch Restaurant in Hiram (Paulding County) where there is a huge, realistic Brer Rabbit painted on one wall. Also close to downtown Atlanta in West End, you may want to visit the Wren's Nest, home of Joel Chandler Harris, an editor of The Atlanta Constitution for which he also was an editorial writer who OPPOSED slavery, He was the author of the Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit stories that were shared with him by two elderly gentlemen who were working as slaves on a plantation when he was a boy. Although the ride track is not the same, Six Flags Over Georgia does have a log flume ride. How great if Six Flags could acquire from Disney the design elements from Splash Mountain to build another dark ride.
It is sad that misinformation of the origin of Splash Mountain is wiping out African American folklore/history. Replacing a real African American folktale with a fictional story that makes a caricature (including dialect) of a famous African American musician, Louis Armstrong, as an alligator. Boggles the mind as to what is considered appropriate for "modern sensibilities"..
I'm 35 years old and I can't imagine the Magic Kingdom without splash. I have so many fond memories of family vacations and even remember when I was tall enough to ride it. I will definitely miss it. Edit: I got way more emotional than I thought I would watching the final few logs. Thank you again for documenting this.
Thank you for documenting this. When I was growing up, my dad and I would have a father, daughter day during the holidays. We would do something special and then go Christmas shopping for my mother. One of my most vivid memories was going to see Song of the South. Years later, we were all able to go to Disneyland together, my parents, children and my brother. My son was 6 and not sure he wanted to go on Splash Mountain, we bribed him with a giant Buzz Lightyear to go on. It's one of our favorite memories. That was my dad's one and only time to get to ride Splash Mountain. We recently came to WDW for the holidays hoping to get one more last ride in. Unfortunately we were caught in all the Southwest mess and lost our Magic Kingdom day to airline cancellations and rebooking. Thank you again for documenting this moment that many of us have very fond memories of.
Thank you Adam for vlogging this and actually voicing your opinion on the closure of splash. Not many people or vloggers have the guts to do so. I grew up with this ride and I’m absolutely distraught that it’s going away. I planned my trip before knowing about the closure and I’m very upset that come February I will not be able to experience my favorite ride in Disney. Like you said, yes the track will remain but the memories and nostalgia will not. I truly hope Disney treats the refurb with love and doesn’t make the entire ride screens because the animatronics really made this a fantastic ride. It will be truly missed
I shed a tear. I will miss that ride. If you didn’t know the movie or that it came from the movie you had no idea. It was a gem. Especially the wdw version.
I don't normally comment on videos, however, I am grateful you were there to document this sad day. Splash was my favorite ride in Magic Kingdom... it will never be the same without it.
We are really sad to see the ride go, and did not get a chance to get back since 2019. Thanks for the ride, and hanging on until the last splash, Adam! We really appreciate it! 🐰🦊🐻🐸
What a lovely way to say goodbye to splash, I was so happy to see the cast members were the last to ride and it’s so lovely how everyone was just enjoying life and cheering each other on. Great vid :)
This might be my all time favorite ATW video. It's always amazing to see people rally around things that they really love. The future is bright for this ride, but the original will always be special to so many of us who grew up with it.
I'm bawling. What an epic way to end this Era. Thank you Splash for the memories and for all the cast members throughout the years for the magic. Adam- thank you this memorable vlog!
Great coverage, Adam, of a historic day! Such an honor to be able to be there and take our last Splash down! It was great to meet you, Micah, Justin and Tampa Jay. What a historic day for me!
I’ve watched this video three times. Feels like a historic day in the history of magic kingdom and Walt Disney. Thank you for doing such a great job with your coverage. I can imagine that was a long day in the parks but you did a great job of capturing the atmosphere
One of the most emotional RU-vid videos I’ve seen in a while. The amount of people who spent the last day there to see it off, the amazing cast members and of course yourself and the other many amazing and brilliant Vloggers.
Adam, your vlog documenting the closure of Splash Mountain was by far the best 👏👏 and I want to say thankyou for letting us be part of such an historic moment. Watching the Cast Members taking their final ride was so emotional and brought memories flooding back of the day me and my fellow Cast Members in the UK had to say goodbye and close our beloved Disney Stores. Such an emotional time and I understand exactly how those Cast Members from Splash will be feeling! Thankyou so much for sharing this truly special day and thankyou for all the other amazing content that you share with us. You're the best!! 😊
Seriously one of the best videos you've ever produced. A true symbol of how amazing the WDW community really is! A proper sendoff for Splash. It will be missed here in Orlando 💦
Adam, I appreciate you so much! You're the only one who consistently and positively highlights Celebration. It's your positivity which has me to seriously consider relocating to Celebration. Please continue to show off your beautiful town.
You and I both. Seriously, ever since I’ve visited their back in 2002, I thought it would be the most incredible place to live. It just has such a great old-school vibe.
That made me unexpectedly emotional. Disney has a knack for closing all my favorites. Mr. Toad, Maelstrom, and now this. Great vlog. Seems like it was a really awesome day.
💦 Thank you for posting your experience of this, Adam. Just watching some live streams at the end with everyone cheering the final log flumes coming down the big drop was a perfect send off.
Thank you Adam for giving us the opportunity to experience this momentous day with you. You can feel the emotions and the vibe through the screen. Did a great job. RIP Splash. Thank you for the memories
Thank you for documenting the last day of Splash Mountain. Even though this is not my favorite ride in the park, I must admit that I got a little emotional when you showed everyone cheering as the last riders came down and when the cast members got their last ride. It was also cool to see people waving their phones and then waiting to applaud the cast members as they left their last shift. There was a real sense of community.
Thanks for having me twice on your vlog, Adam! Once as a guest in my Brer Fox shirt, and once as a Cast Member working the pressed penny line. Tears were definitely shed as I was selling my last Splashdown photo, and as we closed the shop. Thank you for perfectly capturing this amazing day! I'll never forget it!
Thank you for taking us with you, Adam! I only rode Splash Mountain twice in my life, last Summer, but what an unforgettable experience that was. Sad to see it go and even after only two times I'm gonna miss this in the future. Very rewarding though to see so many say their goodbyes in this awesome way.
This old lady will never see this ride again. Road it when it opened and road it in 2014 with my mom and she’s gone now. Was hoping for one more time but the memories are there and their greet ones. Thank you Adam.❤️
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing this. I watched on a big screen TV and was glad I did. The vibe and emotions came thru on the video for me. I can only imagine how much more intense it was in person. I appreciate you being there all day and sharing your thoughts as well as the thoughts on both fans and other RU-vid vlogers. Thank you ATW!
CRYING!!!!!!!! Such a tender tribute to the castmembers. My last ride was on the 21st. I was gutted. Thank you Adam and Justin. TIME TO BE MOVING ALONG!
Couldn’t help but be teary eyed to see the cast members on their final trip down the briar patch. Thanks for sharing the last day with us! I really enjoyed you interviewing guests as well throughout the day. Time to be moving along now… I will miss hearing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, I really loved that song.
I know this last day was going to be a busy day for Splash Mountain but I didn't know how amazing the last two hours were going to be. Something for the record books in closing of a nostalgic ride at Disney World and any theme park ride in the world! Amazing footage of it Adam!
Admittedly, I'm not a big Disney fan, but that was so cool how everyone cheered and made it a celebration. Glad you could document the experience and partake in the event.
My heart is broken 😔 I’m so sad to say goodbye to my favorite ride, it feels like letting go of a close beloved friend. I rode it for the first time when I was 9, sitting next to my my mom, and I got to say goodbye this past summer again sitting next to my mom, three decades later. Thanks for sharing this video, I cried my eyes out 🥺 but it’s nice to share this sad day with others who love Splash Mountain as much as I do ❤️
@@TheDailyWoo I hate to see it go. Seriously, it’s one of the few rides left that still has that old school feel. I haven’t been down since 2018, which was my last ride on it. Definitely a sad moment. Thank you for documenting it. Truly appreciate it.
Adam, my family and I have watched your videos for years and love the content you put out. I think I can honestly say this may have been your best video ever. You did an amazing job capturing a special moment for all of us who are Disney fans. I can only say thank you!
Adam, you did an amazing job vlogging the Last Splash Mountain day video! Thank you so much. My daughter and I were crying. We loved that you talked to people in line to get their emotions and especially that you shared this time with us! Thanks for staying until the end! You’re the best! We love love love your channel!
Don't usually leave comments but you did an amazing job of documenting the last day of splash. Loved hearing other people's stories and love of the ride, and really appreciate you staying right until the end. Thank you!
Great memories of my Daddy reading this story to us before bed! That’s what I miss! Yes I will miss the ride the way it was but there will still be a ride. I miss my Dad more than any amusement park ride!
I have to admit that this vlog made me tear up and get emotional. Thank you for staying till the end and showing us all the emotion of the crowd. It was awesome to see the cast members be the last ones on the ride. I got married the year Splash opened and never went on it, ever, but I did at one time have an original VHS tape copy of The Song of the South.
I think it's hilarious that so many people were being rude while trying to be the last people in line for the final ride, only to watch the cast members actually take the ride. The wasted hours for something that got taken away from them in seconds. Don't be rude to the workers, karma will get you good.
Thanks for interviewing us! My brother was the one with the song of the south shirt and then you filmed mine and my sister in law’s shirt! We will miss splash so much!!!! Nice to have this video to look back on. Nice meeting you!🎉❤
I made it back there recently on January 10th just to ride Splash one more time. Said my good byes to Br'er Rabbit and the rest of the gang. I ended up riding it seven times that day. Going to definitely miss it. So many memories growing up and had the fun tradition of always riding it while the fireworks were going off. Not going to lie, I had some tears in my eyes on my final ride. RIP Splash Mountain.
Wow! I am so glad you captured that. It got emotional for me at the end. So very glad the cast members were able to be celebrated! What a wonderful ride that was. RIP Splash Mountain. Thank you, Adam, for providing this content!
Thank you Adam for staying and showing video of the crowds cheering for all the cast members at the end, so special! I know its sad, but Im so excited that Disney is moving forward for the next generation. (My 7 year old son wouldn't ever ride it because he thought the characters were creepy, and he has no idea who they are)
Loved this vlog Adam! Chaotic & emotional! So many familiar faces from the vlog world. Woo, Scarred & Tracker!!! Dream team indeed! Loved you showing & talking to all the other people there too. It was fab seeing all the cool T-shirts, hats & outfits!
I am a former Splash CM and closed out the ride many times...taking that last flume to clear the ride....how bittersweet for the current CM's taking that last ride....I 'm glad I didn't go for the close: I think I would have blubbered like a baby.😭
I cried. This was my favorite ride in any park. Seeing everyone on the bridge clapping and cheering made me lose it. Thanks Adam. I needed a release and I really appreciate you documenting this for posterity.... Hahahah Let's just hope the next version has the updates and upgrades we all want and maybe something that blows us away.
Having watched the vlogs of yours and others for over 10 years, this is without doubt one of the best and most emotional I have ever seen. Great to see you talk to so many other vloggers who felt pretty much the same as you. Unfortunately there was one vlogger who was glad to see the back of it( I think everyone will know who it is) . Also brilliant the CM's got to ride the final rides. Brilliant Adam
So amazing that the cast members got to ride it at the end of the night! What a crowd there to watch it happen! So many amazing memories of this ride with my family. Sad to see it go, but also so excited for Tianas Bayou Adventure. Thanks for capturing this and treasuring this log forever!
Thank you so much Adam for taking all of us who couldn’t be there :( This makes me so sad, not because I grew up with it but because of all the memories I have of my kids on this ride.
Man this brings back memories, I remember when I was nine and my sister was seven back in 99, my sister was so scared of riding this ride and she started crying because of the drop. I actually calmed her down and we got on the ride. I told her to be brave and she did. She loved it. We ended up riding it like four more times that day, It saddens me to this ride go, we have soooo many memories on this ride. We used to ride it every year we came to Disney.
Genuinely a rollercoaster of a day for those who were there by the looks of it and another superlative, informative and emotive video - thanks Adam for enabling those of us living many many, miles away to experience this amazing day with you 👊👍
The Adam the Woo love that was in that park that day is amazing…and well deserved. Thank you Adam, for giving this CLASSIC attraction the love and affection it deserves. I’m with you (and not Tim)…I am extremely sad to see Splash go😢
Thanks for taking us thru your childhood memories with Splash Mountain, Adam. This is the only way I will do Disneyland rides again. Don’t enjoy the wait times for the rides, especially hard for seniors to endure but our young hearts live on❣️Nice seeing the crowd cheering everyone on for the last time.👍🌴
A genuine and heartfelt thank you for this video. As someone who has grown up with and adored this ride and couldn't be there to say goodbye, it really means a lot. Feel like I was there.
Fun, unifying, pulls at the heartstrings. The last time I rode Splash was 1986. Great memories! I love that you had so many fans in this one. Love the t-shirts. Thank you for sharing this day with us.
One of the best woo videos I have seen, and there are many great ones. Thank you Adam! . "That's gonna do it for today.... and well..... forever" well said!
There is something incredible watching these from the UK. The joys and celebrating and happiness shown to people riding splash mountain. The cheers and clapping is pretty incredible. Thank you for sharing this Adam. Rode it 23 years ago and it was good then.
I hate that they're changing Splash Mountain so much... I'd rather it stay! That ride is an icon! & being in Frontierland, they saying they'll have to stretch a land (forgot), for it to work....doesn't make any lick of sense to me at all! & I also wish people didn't get so "offended" over Song Of The South so much, & just leave it & the ride, be! I may be ranting, but this is ridiculous!
IMO the change is all about Disney wanting to promote their newer movies, a Princess tie in, and the merch that goes with it, including beignets, Port Orleans, etc., etc.
@@sandydisneyfan8355 That's what it was, New Orleans Square....just seems WAY too long of a stretch to reach Splash Mountain, is the reason why I don't get why the change...should've just made a difference ride, much closer.
@@sandydisneyfan8355 Disney loves anytime they can close a ride. Saves them tons of money. I guarantee it doesn't take 18 months to re-theme a ride. They will milk the hell out it
Wow Adam, thank you so much for filming this monumental occasion with the closing of Splash Mountain! It was very emotional, even viewing it virtually , watching the riders, the observers and then finally the cast members on their last ride ! Thank you for sharing this with us who could not be there in person, but got to enjoy the experience of this special occasion ! Thank you again for another Great Heartfelt Vlog👍
Adam i love that your not afraid to express your feeling about the ride. Splash was most people's favorite ride..it was def me and my families. Its not always about progress. Nostalgia is the key here..and it shows by the amount of people coming to ride it for the last time.
I'm going to miss hearing " Zipadee do dah Zipadee ay, my oh my what a,wonderful day" Thank you so much Adam fo sharing this with us. I rode Splash mountain a few times, loved it. Yes,the cast riding last got to me as well. Adam I deeply appreciate all you do....thank you so much.
Well, it really went out with a splash! What a wonderful send-off to a classic ride ♥️ Everyone cheering for the last logs and the cast members really got me 🥹 Thanks for another wonderful vlog.
my feelings go out to all the people that got to enjoy splash mountain. If only i had gone on it when i was a kid i never even got to go on the ride at either park. If only i had a time machine. Seeing all those fans of the ride enjoying it. Id give anything to go back 30 years love the video Adam you are the greatest. As well as the jurassic park ride i never went on it either. Just a perfect video all around. Loved seeing those old adam the woo and splash mountain t shirt's. I never had any of them either.
Great vlog/log Adam. Thank you 4 letting us join you on the last day & night of Splash Mountain. I am glad you were able 2 ride it 4 times. My family & I were at WDW in '92. They were just testing Splash Mountain. My wife & I had our honeymoon at WDW in '96. We rode it several times during our time there. We went again in '08 then again in '18. That was the last time we were there. Splash Mountain will most definitely be missed. I look forward 2 your vlog when the new themed log ride opens in 18 months. 30 years of Splash Mountain is in the books. Thank you for all the memories Bier Rabbit. Thank you again 4 letting join you Adam. Greatly appreciated 💕
Sad to see this ride close! Never been to the Florida one, but have been to the one in California multiple times. I know it’s coming there and I’m really sad about that.
@@TheDailyWoo yep. That’s what I’ve heard. Still a little sad to see it go. Oh well, might get some flack for this, but maybe it’s time to update the ride? Might end up still calling it Splash. Lol.
