Marc made a mistake, and a big one at that. But he knew it straight away and was/is remorseful. If his management contests his due punishment on a technicality then its repsol honda that should be criticised, not marc. He was expecting a harsher punishment than just a double long lap penalty after all.
Any corporation is sociopathic by default, heartless and profit driven. Sadly they have a legal standpoint and like Marc personally all actions are suspect. Neither cares for the humans involved as history is witness.
Honda can appeal, but its not very classy. Neither is following people out of the pits to draft in quali, or riding out of control while in a pack of riders...
It was a racing incident!!! Strategy is crummy and using loopholes makes me sick!! Penalty should be paid for whenever he returns to track!! FIRST AVAILABLE!! No matter where!! Cheers
I think the thumb injury is fake. Honda figured that if they would get penalized in Argentina, they might as well sit it out. So, they quickly made up this pretend injury.
Unfortunately, this is pure arrogance and desperation on Honda's side. Reminds me more of F1 shenanigans. Arguing the letter of the law (words etc) rather than the original intention. Shrewd moves here. They know COTA and Sachsenring (not the bike but rider advantage) are probably their biggest shots at wins. Hence the desperation.
They should appeal, i mean you cant make up things in the rules. If this was allowed then you could give penaltys for incidents that happend 2 years ago, and we cant forget that this is business and Honda has sponsors that whant race wins and COTA is there best opportunity, we all know that Marc deserve a penalty but you cant change rules just becouse of angry fans.
Honda is trying all they can, but justice needs to be served. MM knows he needs to serve the penalty so, IMO, he should step forward and inform every one that he will indeed take the deserved penalty. Given this, i think MM could gain favor in a lot of people's eyes.
Marc already said he would accept any penalty giving to him. Honda appealing the decision shows Marc wasn't actually being honest about accepting the punishment giving to him!
I am almost certain that if Marc did not have a penalty but still had his hand injury he would be riding in Argentina this weekend. And I think that is why the appeal has happened. Because with the crap handling Honda, a hand injury and a double long lap penalty it would be hard to score any meaningful points in the main race and non in the Sprint. So I think it's a strategic move by the MM93 camp, thinking that there's no carry over for the penalty. Now they have withdrawal from the race they have lost 37points on their opponents and have been told they still have a long lap penalty in COTA to serve. MM93 camp have shot themselves in the foot.
All the Marc haters already don’t have to see him for a entire weekend. That is enough. Otherwise he should just race the weekend race 3 laps including the 2 long lap penalties and then bow out.
Come on , Luca marini did the same s*it to enea bastianini and injerd hem No body is taking about it. no long or short panalty? Its a dangerous spot, if you don't take the small risk you can't win Spachaly when you're bike is a total crap
Difference is Marini made a mistake crashed and slide into unlucky Bastianini. That's a racing incident can happen to anyone. Whereas the move Marc Marquez made on Martin and Oliveira was risky deliberate. Was only a small chance of pulling off that move without injuring someone! Marc also almost took riders out in the first lap pulling the same deliberate reckless move!
It was a racing incident. He locked the front, so that would make it a mechanical issue causing an ACCIDENT, I repeat an ACCIDENT. Bastianini broke a shoulder blade and Marini gog nothing because it was an ACCIDENT. Jaysus people its racing, shit happens. It wasn't a direct shove of one rider to another, if was a front brake lock up.🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
I think its perfectly fair for honda protest, if Marc was to race at Argentina he probably wouldn't score points. Now he's definitely not going to score points. It really 100% seems like the FIM's change to the penalty is a reaction to oliviera fans that are throwing their toys out the pram over it. Again this was a racing incident, Marc had a front wheel lock, not because attempting to make a pass evidently, Do we want a formula1 style championship? No absolutely not. Albeit, is the penalty deserved? Yes, there's atleast some kind of consistency in regards to dangerous racing incidents that were infact just racing incidents i.e Zarco and Franco at the red bull ring.. that being said they shouldn't be carrying penalties over in this manner, sad really.
Marc missed his braking by miles. I defy anyone to show me a star rider that has missed by that much. Not Pedrosa when he knocked down Hayden or Rossi when he ran into Stoner. The last time l saw a star miss by that much it was Eddie Lawson at Laguna and his brake pads had fallen out.
Honda is showing everyone, publicly, that they are simply a gutter dwelling corporation. Good grief. Appealing the ruling is akin to ignoring or waiving the 'penalty' that MM93 justly merited through his own actions. Shame on HONDA and their ambulance chasing corporate attorneys in their attempts to thwart 'justice' on such a ridiculous line of reasoning. It's not a court of Law, it's a governing body that is attempting to maintain a level playing field for the riders so that this 'sport' can continue in a safe manner for all the participants. Seems that this is anathema to HONDA. SHAME SHAME SHAME.
Honda are doing everything they can to get back on the top step. Honda knows COTA is a big balls track. Marc’s balls are only really rivalled by Jack and Binder. Honda has a good chance to get back on the top step. They want that more than anything so that they can say we still have a winning bike. Honda doing this is not right or wrong it just is. This is racing. The point is to win not be nice or care about anything but winning. It does it make sense? No. But neither does humanity.
Not just Honda is Marquez, first he say" i dont care about it just Olivera to be ok" and now oh Marc can win in COTA so they fight agains it!!!!!this is bad but is how MARQUEZ always has be as a Human,HE DINT CARE ABOUT OTHERS!!!
