Having a macadamia orchard ag drones are of interest. To spray a tree that is ten meters tall a big tractor is needed to power an air blaster to spray up that high. Would it not be better to use gravity spray downwards rather than needing a huge amount of power to spray upwards? A big tractor might cost $140k with a pressurised cab to protect the operator. The airblaster might cost another $50k. From what I’ve seen the DJI AG drones cost around $20k.

One of my other favorite ag channels, is the Millennial Farmer. Broad acre Corn and Peas out of Minnesota. US of A. He has had a video in the past three weeks, where he had a drone, fly a field pass and scan / identify field rocks on the surface. It generated a field map and locations. He was supplied with some GPS dongle thingy, so he could drive straight to the rock, pick it up, so it doesn't go through the feeder housing of his big green combine upon harvesting, when you cant see them. Amassing technology.

Good kit, it's the way forward and in a decade or two even this stuff will look 'clockwork'. And we'll probably have little ground-drones out and about 24/7 spot-spraying or electrocuting weeds and seeding and spot-fertilising the good stuff.

Great tech, I wonder what distances this particular drone can cover and air time? I think these machines could be used and possibly take over the aerial operations of mustering one day. These things are great and most likely will become essential for agriculture in many applications, but as the old saying goes, as long as they are used for good and not evil. Don’t think I could trust the government or any of their departments operating them in a beneficial manner

I’m not really worried about the government. Private corporations bother me more. But I’m not in the US either….
