One of my favorite stanzas in this songs translates into "I'll make my body as a temple and worship you in me as it's (temple's) Deity, I'll serve you with my life and emotions" Which can either be seen as a semi-romantic and semi-devotional. The girls are temple dancers and they were "married" To the gods and this was their job, I love that line cos it accurately talks about what they did. They served godss by rituals, dance and singing and storytelling through said dance, they learnt several things and were highly respected, and well the system got all effed up and they're now extinct
