likewise i found the collar bone area to get sore with that HANS during/after track time. Switched to the Necksgen Rev Lite 2. I don't feel like I have a HANS device on me. it's very comfortable.
I've heard the Neckgens are comfortable, but I want whatever is safer. I'm not sure why the arms coming down across the chest is needed, and maybe everyone is just copying HANS. Either way I cut out some squishy foam and placed them on my collar bones. After tightening the belts it is much better. Some of the guys I asked say a race suit also helps pad up the collar bones, so that might make a difference too.
@@RacecarWRX yea i'm not really sure. once you're it's tethered into your helmet and strapped down it seem it will do the job of preventing your neck tilting further than it should during a front end collision. as for the collar, personally it feels like it could break your collar bone without much padding. but yea share if you're able to get professional help on it. it's the same with me when i tilt my head down.
I use an impact stand 21 neck restraint, I just ordered this one, I tried them on at an expo and felt it to be more comfortable than what I have, The issue with it sliding down happens with my stand21 as well when I double check to make sure my straps are secured to helmet, which I don’t believe matters as they are to prevent your vertebrae from extending which as long as belts are tight your head will be limited on forward movement
Hi, sorry to bring up this past subject but I got one SHR Flex and feel very unconfortable when tight below the harness. The device slips below the harness a lot , creating a very unsafe feeling I can touch my chest with the helmet nib. I think Schrot need to review this device once it is dangerous.. besides when it slides it press the colar bones a lot... I spent a lot of money on that and I'm not using it.. I emailed the manufactor but they just told me to read the manual again and that slip is normal kkkkkk bad news I do not recomend it
As long as you've pulled it down tight, I've been told you'll be ok. The explanation I was given is because in an extreme deceleration condition the force is straight forward.
