Oh man, he was just as excited as me when I got my GF3s. Love the spring tensioner. Another reason why VKB is just the best in the market, continuing to innovate. I even bought a Virpil T50CM3 and the need Alpha Prime grip to compare them to it. VKB clearly came out on top. Thanks for the shout out Sub!
@ameerr.7614 Personally, I think the MCG Ultimate Grip on the Gunfighter base is hands down the best on the market. And I bought an Alpha Prime to compare. However, it's not as if I'm speaking bad about Virpil - on the contrary, Virpil makes top notch products - it's just a testament to how good the MCG Ultimate is. But, it's really personal choice - it's like comparing Ferraris and Lamborghinis - both are phenomenal. It all comes down to what each individual wants, how the grip feels in the hand, and all the other variables that go into it. You can't go wrong with either VKB or Virpil, but for me, VKB is the best. Now if I can just get a left handed MCG Ultimate, my Christmas wish list will be complete.
I'm so glad someone is giving the VKB's some air time. A certain someone sucked up to Virpil's for their entire career and it was obvious they were getting perks lol. Either way, these are great sticks if you want more availability and not so much flair like RGB, or even more buttons than you can figure out what to do with.
I’m so tempted to get the Mk4 + space grip I currently have a 15yo x52 and most of the axis’ are jittery I’ve been looking around for weeks comparing WinWing, Virpil and VKB I love the fact that you can modify and upgrade your gear with VKB
17:40 Those sleeves around the springs are probably only really important when you run two springs on an axis. I think they're meant to prevent the two springs entangling each other since they do sit very close to one another. Hmmm... so you still can't adjust the clutches with the stick fully assembled? That's the one thing I'm really envious of when it comes to Virpil's sticks/gimbals. It's probably not that big a deal if you use the GF non-mounted, but it is a major pain in the butt when you have it mounted on VKB's own desk-mount. That's what I'm running (gimbal "hanging" underneath the mount's plate) and to be able to adjust the clutches while also being able to verify your changes/adjustments as you go, you basically have to disassemble the stick, remove the gimbal-housing from the mount, re-assemble everything minus the dust-cover, make your adjustments, then disassemble again and re-assemble with the dust-cover. The problem is that the four screws that hold the dust-cover are also what holds the gimbal-housing to the baseplate of the mount. And since the gimbal-housing contains one of the PCBs and that PCB has a wire-connection to the gimbal, you can't simply take off the dust-cover or the gimbal-housing when the stick is mounted.
Interesting. I upgraded to the mk3s from gladiators during the sc 3.18 debacle. With the mk3's I've had chronic problems with the white light connection errors and lose button control to the grips. These mk4's have a completely different interface between grip and base so apparently I'm not the only one who has this problem. Also your grip "dowel" doesn't need to be disassembled. It goes through all together, just align your indent.
Congrats, same sticks, Down graded the extra button as the stock one didnt allow me to set keybinds to it and it made me have 4 extra keybinds at my finger tips. Also i didnt like the space cam that much switched that out as well. Running 2 springs like the stiffer feel. Really enjoy mine.
It seems you just convinced me to get the MK4 instead of the Gladiator. Do you have any information when the Omni adapter will be available, as the site still says the one available is only for the MK3. I will never really use all the options available, but that's the life of being an enthusiast ^^
The VKB badge thing is a coaster mate. They sent me one years ago with some spare parts, and I still use it even though I switched to Virpil. As for what it comes preinstalled with, at this price point you’re expected to assemble and tune it yourself. Kinda like how high end chef’s knives don’t come with an edge, because they expect you to have an opinion on how exactly you want it sharpened.
They send you products. Products with a value. THAT'S THE PAYMENT. I don't argue that without the product, it's damned difficult to review. I get that. However, if they send you ANYTHING, that changes the relationship, as there's always the chance of an influence where they may stop doing so if you're not favorable(enough). Again, SENDING YOU ANY PRODUCT WHATSOEVER, while not sending you cash money, is STILL paying you. Money may not change hands, but value does.
Hmm Interesting, Ive never thought about it that way. This insight is very helpful. I'll be sure to send them to my mortgage company when I upgrade. It should cover most but not all of a monthly payment. You can think I can send my pedals along with them? That should cover the rest.

The MCG Ultimate (metal) or Pro (plastic version) is only available in right hand format....for now. But it is AMMMMMAAAZZZINNNNNG! BEST grip on the market, hands down. Now that STECS has been released, hopefully VKB will work on a left handed variant.
@@PredatorMounts Seems to be almost no info, why so much better than Alpha Primes? Seems like its spring pre-tensioners for VBK and better setup for space sims on the primes.
@mlwg9317 I purchased an Alpha Prime w/ T50CM3 base for comparison. When compared, the Alpha Prime feels made of cheap thin metal, and unbalanced. Also, you are stuck with the hat/button configuration layout on the Alpha Prime when you can swap them on the MCG Ultimate. Now, this is Virpil's 1st attempt at a metal grip. It will get better. Belarus doesn't have access to the metal working techniques available in China at this time, but that will change in the future. But for now, thr MCG Ultimate reigns Supreme in my book. Now if we could only get a lefty version...
@PredatorMounts I wouldn't worry about that, and just do SCG left w/ MCG right then. You don't need a symetrical button lay out since for space sims I can't think of anything that will need you to do the same exact movement with both hands together. I modified my left stick to be a bit different than my right stick and I don't find the asymmetry wierd, especially if using an omnithrottle adapter
I was super disappointed after clicking on this video that I had been unsubbed to you a very long time ago, I have re-subbed. I was a Gladiator Mk1 adopter and have been rocking the Gunfighter MkII for 5years and it is great. any problems that pop up due to software or moving house are all an easy fix and it is still in mint condition. The only issue is I had to purchase a Virpil stick dust covers because VKB don't yet do that. @VKBSim you're gear absolutely lasts
Yea I wanted to upgrade my Gladiators with the Gunfighter bases but they dont sell just the base. At least I am not able to find an option to unfortunately...;(
I just checked. They don't have it. They may be allocating the bases to full GF MKIV kits. I'm sure they will sell it at some point. I'll probably announce it on my discord when they do.
Hey Sub. I'm stuck between getting two Gladiator NXT EVO Omni Throttles, or two Gunfighter MKIV SCEs with Omni Throttle Adapters. My concern is that you lose the six buttons on the base of the Gladiators. Would the loss of the six buttons on each stick be worth the upgrade that you get on the quality of the base? I'm asking specifically for Star Citizen. What are your thoughts?
That looks amazing but aren;t you going to miss the extra buttons you have on the gladiators? what's your plan about that? I'm curious about that since I can't choose between them because I'll have less buttons
Very nice, especially for space swimming because of the right handed grip, but I don't think I'll ever be able to use a stick without an adjustable handset again after getting a WinWing stick. Plastic is also a bit of a bummer, especially for this price.
@@derbybOyzZ I was skeptical at first, but ordered a WinWing Orion 2 throttle and stick base, with the F15EX throttle grip and F16 stick with the add-on module because they were by far the cheapest premium option to ship to my region. I'm super pleased with the quality. Not having a center deadline is just a world of difference. There are so SO MANY BUTTONS. More buttons and hats and axis than I know what to do with on even the most complex aircraft. The rumble motors might not be true force feedback, but I really love them. Being able to feel that your bags have dropped is so much better than hoping to hear the faint sound, and you can actually feel when you're about to run out of airspeed as the plane starts to shake (useful when looking over your shoulder in a dogfight) I have the luxury of being able to compare the stick feel to that of real (GA) aircraft, and it's damn close. For fighters, I'd recommend you get the stick extension and additional cams to make use of the fantastic gimbal precision. I will be getting those soon. All in all, I'd highly recommend anything made by Winwing. (of and if you need pedals, I got the VKB mk-V T-pedals. They're the cheapest all metal option out there, and also fantastic.)

know what would be a good culture for Star citzien is Clubs that supply a hotas sim pit and VR enviroment for sim infusiasts and also do part exchange on equipment as well as run training and events as well as prize events if the demand for this culture becomes a thing there is a HUGE marketr for on site customizations and tutorials for sim pits eventually setting a sim pit standard and helping circulate the used Stick market to help entry level enfusiasts get a taste for what they could eventually get as well as supporting rental time for new players and well opening the sim games to a whole load of people who wouldn't even of tried without the Rig and sim gear. essntially gearing up for that meta verse economy

My review wont be ready in time for black Friday. I do not have virpils stick but I the general consensus is that Virpil makes the better grip and VKB makes the better gimbal. Virpils will be quite a bit more money and they are never in stock. So if you wanted to get them before Christmas you may have no choice but to go VKB. Virpil may very well have a better grip but it's not that much better for me to wait 3-6mo and pay $300 more. That's my opinion thus far.

Okay - remember we are comparing the two top end grips on the market - and by no way do I mean Virpil makes a bad grip. Compared to EVERY other grip the Alpha Prime smashes it. But when compared to the MCG Ultimate, I feel it falls short. And some of this is due to manufacturing techniques available to Virpil vs. VkB. China is waaaaay more advanced on working intricate metal designs than Belarus, such as curved grips. When working with metal, specifically curving metal, the thicker the metal, the more curves, especially reverse plane, cross plane, split plane, etc., the harder it is to work that metal correctly ensuring that the metal grain exhibits smooth grain flow, just like the grain in wood, except you can change the grain direction and thickness in metal by working techniques. The better techniques and manufacturing experience available to you, the more metal you can work correctly, ensuring even distribution, which plays into balance and feel. But. Let's not forget this is Virpil's first attempt at a metal grip. I have no doubt it will improve with each iteration they make. Again, we aren't talking about the base, just the grip. And the difference on construction is a big gap right now, big. When you grab both grips, you immediately feel the thinness of the Alpha, making it feel cheap and unbalanced when compared with the MCG Ultimate. And that's just the construction. I talk plenty more about it on my Discord and invite anyone to come share their opinion. Maybe you can change my mind?
Couldn't you just remove / unscrew the four dust cover screws and lift up the rubber a little bit to get access to the adjustment screws below it? Obviously you'd need a 90° hex key, the shorter the better, but it looks like it would be doable without having to remove the grip. Anyway, a minor-ish annoyance in the grand scheme of things. I ordered mine a couple of days ago, it's going to replace my right Gladiator. Can't wait!
Thank you for this video! I am deciding between these Gunfighters and the Evos and currently an Elite player and interested in Star Citizen. My question is do you think will you be able to bind mining laser to the Gunfighters well without the Evo’s throttle slider?
Honestly the evos feel amazing, have had them for a few months now and the base switches/wheels are a game changer due to how nice it feels to scale mining power. Honestly up to you, but i would go with evos if you do not mind the plastic/nonmetal finish
@@EndersVRcade honestly i dont notice it too much. It is only really an issue for me in when i choose to park a ship in sc but dont want to reduce the speed limiter. It may be more noticeable to people who are used to high end sticks, but i have not had the luxury to do so yet. Great first/second sticks especially for the price.
Curious about your thoughts on the idea of using a Gunfighter IV Modern Combat Edition as the right stick for Pitch yaw roll. combo'd with a Gladiator NXT EVO Omni throttle on the left for throttle, * strafe. Currently Using my old Warthog HOTAS, but pulled the throttle and got a Turtlebeach Velocity one flight stick as an inexpensive temporary second stick. I figure this way I can use the omni throttle evo, to link up the other VKB accessories in the future, but have the "Primary" stick that will take the most abuse, be the nice all metal guts. I am a big guy with big arms, and Glass Fiber or not, I will only trust a plastic gimbal so far, the turtle beach is already showing signs of succumbing to the stress, and even my beloved old all metal warthog has a bit of slop in the action these days.
I love my virpil constellations (with angled adapter for the left stick) but I wish I could loosen up the twist/rotation axis. The death grip I have on the things during dogfights is unreal lol. Can you adjust the twist axis on these?

Depends on what hobby you are coming from. Have you been using HOTAS for years or are you just getting into the flight sim genre? If you've always used a throttle, take a cheap stick and try it out before investing that much money.
@@Dirigius i only play star citizen at the moment of needing or requiring to use a stick and throttle set up. But i noticed that theres a difference where movement difference where the omni has a more duel stick response to a hotas? Or maybe its the X52 im using? But sometimes it seems like when i pvp they move with more agility?
@@AdjudicatorBrbal All control types will require a compromise to one more more axis of movement. I've used both and I have my preference. All I can say is find what best suits you. Beyond that, In Star Citizen, your speed limiter affects the power going to maneuvering thrusters and afterburners. If you are in a situation where you need response, dialing up your speed limiter to max will be necessary. If you don't have lateral thrusters set to a mini-stick on your throttle or joystick, that's a major vacuum of maneuverability.
