Hotwheels has ALWAYS had that problem with off-roads. And no matter WHAT type of car it is the rear axles very often seem cursed to either warp and bend by themselves or just drop out of the mount for no actual reason.
Hypertruck was indeed designed in the mid-2000s...technically. It was first released in 2012, but it's a truck-ified version of Reverb, one of the most iconic Acceleracers cars from 2005! Acceleracers (and Highway 35 before it) was what really got me into Hot Wheels as a kid, and they're why I still adore fantasy castings so much compared to licensed stuff. For me, fantasy IS Hot Wheels.
The Acceleracers line seems to be making a huge comeback too as collectors who grew up with those cars are now starting to collect them now that they have adult money ha. And I agree - fantasy castings IS Hot Wheels! 🏁
@@64Wheels I was so shocked when I looked up prices on Acceleracers stuff. I'm really lucky I still have the whole line from when I was a kid... 😅 Though, sadly, I was never able to get the whole HW35 line. I was too young, most of it was gone by the time my parents were able to notice how intense my interest was, but they were very prepared when Acceleracers rolled around. Honestly, Acceleracers getting canceled was half the reason (the other half being the 07 Transformers movie giving me a brand new fixation) I slowly fell off of Hot Wheels - the fiction, the life they gave to these cars, it was just gone. I stayed a fan of the movies, of course, but it wasn't until the past year or so that I was able to get into die cast again, thanks to my local hobby shop carrying older cars from collector donations.
So many cool vehicles! Desert Force is my favorite for sure, the paint scheme is so cool! I hope we get some Salt Flat themed vehicles! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 64 Wheels.... Just wanted to thank you for another fantastic posting. Your detailed review, is so very helpful for those of us who have a limited budget.
Very cool 5 packs. I bought the Mud Studs and I also got the HW City. Mainly for Bread Box and Rogue Hog. He was in fact a police car in his New Model release back in 2008. The new Batman 5 packs looks interesting. I'll got that one for Hi- Roller alone. Harly Quin Power Pistons also looks good to me. Batcopter used to be all metal with wheels. KInda has dark Superman colors. Night Burnerz pack is good, but I already have plenty of versions of those cars. Gazella R almost looks metal with that gloss black color. I also got the X-Raycers 5 pack. It has Nerve Hammer, Locomotorin' Cosmic Coupe, Draftnator and Electrak. They all have colored wheels and look great. For Super rigs I went for the new Buns of Steel "Dine & Dash" that was a must have for me. That Desert Force rig looks great. The colors also look good on Hypertruck. Tall Order is alright. The Rig is cool, but I prefer a Metal body on Blvd Bruiser. I think it went plastic in 2016?
I thought I remembered it being a bit different but wasn’t sure - I know HWs has retooled a lot of the earlier castings to make them cheaper to produce
