A micron as we explained it to the regular people when we we building propulsion systems for the Navy was described as; take a piece of hair, black hair from your head, slice it into 10 pieces the long way, take one of those ten pieces and slice it into ten slices, the long way and now you have 1 micron. Hair has to be black because say blond hair is smaller in diameter to start. Pretty darn small.

Two of those filter would support a locomotive engine running WOT. Racors are the benchmark for marine fuel filtration.

I have been running this filter set up on my 2006 Cummins for years but I use R60S 2 MICRON filter. Good stuff for sure. The factory fuel filter still looks new after 10k miles.

Those Parker/ ray core filters are awesome. Best filter on the market . I’ve used those for 10+ years ..

I love my Parker Racor units. I have a triplex unit of 3 micron water absorbing filters as redundancy on my Cat 3508's. I'm not sure about how you get and store your diesel, but I also polish the fuel in the main and daily tanks to protect the fuel, tanks, lines, and the generators themselves, as you mentioned, water is easily emulsified in the fuels with the lubricity adders.

When you consider that parker charges $100 for a hydraulic quick connect, $400 seems like a good deal for a fuel filter from them.

Mr. Banks. you do great video. You should keep in mind that when water does appear in the bowl, you can be assured its bigger droplets.........be aware of the small water droplets that get through.

Gale if you want filtration Place the Zinga AEO-3AZL filter downstream of that Parker, It will catch all the Water and Particles that Parker and Racor missed. Theirs's valid reason(s) that AE Zinga filters are for Auxiliary Systems ONLY, So Please if your reading this DO Not install on direct Injection Filtration system (Auxiliary or Transfer ONLY) or commonly known as the Lift / Feed to Injection Pump. The Testing Cale is performing on the Dyno will be a good Test to discredit My Statement that Zinga AEO filter is superior to the S3207T Cale is using. I will explain the Ratings The 3207T ABS rating is 10mics ,that means it gets 98% of 10mics on the first pass. Zinga 3AZL get 50% of 5mics and 98% of 24mics. Use the AEO3 and its 50% of 4mics and 98% of 7mics on the first pass. We have supported Zinga AE filters for 15 Years, You will be hard pressed to find anyone discrediting their Ratings as precise and exact. Gale I respect your entrepreneurship and admire your efforts, I mean no discrediting, just pointing out other options. Maybe some day I will make out to Banks. I have supported your Product for 17 Years, Sold it back in the Day, Now Our engine and fuel products consume all My Time.

The fuel filters our brand of trucks use are supposedly 10µm and 3µm, the water separator just drains back to tank however which I find to be extremely silly. But tbh it hasn't caused any issues yet, except in cases where the fuel at the stations has been grossly contaminated due to leaky tanks or whatever else.

Always love your videos. One thing im really curious about is hydro-diesel, how well it really works / the advantages in efficiency while keeping soot / NOx emissions down, and the considerations that need to be made with fuel systems and high pressure pumps so that they last when running water diesel emulsion based fuels that are being explored. The advantages seem great as long as they dont effect fuel system damage and can be stored without separation.

Nice numbers for that filter assembly. Although, in the real truck world with return fuel lines into the tank, many folks have been concerned with air in the fuel just as much as they are concerned about water and impurities. Stock light trucks do not have the filter systems to deal with this concern so there are companies who manufacture "fuel polishers" to rid out the air molecules that are generated by the return fuel systems. Folks will recognize the two big brands out there, Airdog and Fass. This concern may not apply to the monster truck fuel system but it does on the big three makers of Diesel powered light trucks.

thats great for your dyno room and all, but what good does this do for when an engine actually goes into a truck or car or whatever and no longer has this fuel filter?

Did you have fuel issues on the previously used filters? If yes, which filters were they?

Do you test for a lubricity and or fuel quality so you know the fuel you’re putting into the Dino is the same every time?

Mr. Bank's do you make a fuel lift pump ?? Or do you recommend one Fleece , Fass , Air Dog ????

Is there any way to mount these onto the truck like pre def Duramax. I’ve never used a fass but I’m wondering if this could replace the fass filters or if it’s even worth it because I know you can use cat filters on he lift pump, I’m guessing this is more so for gale’s 1000+hp monster but if I did want to eventually make 1khp is there a way to mount these to a fass or fuel filter housing?

So what’s your thoughts on the oe filtration on the l5p? Any room for improvement?

That time when owning a POS GM 6.2 detroit mechanically injected diesel is an advantage.

Racor turbine 540 gph housing setup...much higher initial investment at 1500 for the housing but its a 9 dollar filter change for the same level of filtration or better. Im sure there is some statistic that im not seeing that you guys did which made you go the way you went.

The high end filtration brand . Parker, donaldson and fleetguard. The best can get on the market.

Great video. I'm sure those filters are great for service station fuel pumps and long haul big rigs, but I don't think those filters have much use in the average person's car or pickup truck. You talk about 10 micron filtration, well both Wix and Baldwin for years have made a 2 micron screw-on fuel filter I think is much more appropriate for the average vehicle owner. After installing one of these 2 micron fuel filters in my '62 pickup truck, I never again had any problems with dirt causing the needle and seat to get stuck open in my carb, and to the best of my knowledge, my gas tank has never been pulled and cleaned out. You can see a picture of the filter installed in my pickup truck near the bottom of this forum post along with part numbers etc. forums.ihpartsamerica.com/threads/are-there-different-grades-of-wix-oil-filters.4022/page-2 You may say "that filter may filter great, but it won't separate the water from the fuel". If you look, attached to my carb is another old school technology that does a fine job of separating fuel from water. I've found these two filter systems together to be more than adequate in all my vehicles and hard-core 4wd rigs. A bit farther down you will also see a 2 micron and a 5 micron particle against a standard filter media and against a nano-technology filter media. I hope this info is of some benefit to those not running big diesel engines or don't have room for monster filters in their engine compartment but still want excellent 2 micron fuel filtering and some form of fuel / water separation.

So…. WHY does it cost $400? LOL Is it because it’s really good and no other company can make one like it and they’ve got the market cornered on such a critical piece of equipment or is it because so much labor with specialized hi-tech equipment goes into making one of these filters? $200, OK, but twice that?! $400 is A LOT of money for a filter… does it last the life of the engine in a normal application at least or do you have to change it every 100,000 miles?

90% of the people watching this will freak out about spending $400 on a filter. The other 10% are the ones that can spend $40K building a motor and they KNOW that a really good filter is a ton of money saved.
