We just got this brand new Peterbilt 389 straight from the factory in Denton, Texas! We are showing you all around the truck and talk a bit about what we might do to make this one bad looking ride! BUT!!! We want to hear from you, What do you want to see us do to this truck? We can't wait to start putting some custom accessories and paint on this truck!

@@huskerfan7660 Considering the distances a lot of American truckers have to drive, yeah. More parts that can break in autos compared to manuals. They're also cheaper and easier to repair. That's why it's so common for US truckers to learn how to change gears without using the clutch as well, to further reduce maintenance costs.

I’d do 7 lights on the roof looks a lot better IMO and if it’s gonna be a show truck I’d do the 8” y pipe with the smooth battery boxes if your willing to spend the money. But like I mentioned on your Instagram page I’d get a fuel tank with the integrated def tank to have the same size tanks on each side to make each side look the same again instead of the def tank being an eye sore

Glancing around, more cup holders, more usb charging outlets. Apu, and maybe something cool like a backup cam. That frame color is awesome. Add some steps to the deck.

The more lights the better!!! 22" bumper will be sweet!!! And a drop visor that has a unique flare to it would be awesome!!! Can't wait to see what it turns out like!!!

Stainless visor from RLK Services, stainless full fenders, watermelon lights on the corner of the bumper,on the mirrors, on the roof and in front of the breathers. Stainless cab and sleeper panels, watermelon map and over head light panel. Paint the axles same color as the frame and put but covers over the axle nuts with lug nut covers.

I would put a custom “CB” from that guy that Bruce used and a LED TV in it. Some gray hard wood flooring would look good in that cab.

Very clean truck... some panels for the cab and sleeper, 7 roof lighst, 14" drop visor and window chops, 2970 ranger with it. NICELY DONE on the specs.

Bruce Wilson happy he told us about you guys and love the trucks and the build your doing and maybe do custom headlights with led lights that change and same with rest of the truck led that you can change the colors and then the front bumper flip up for more clarence. And think full rear fender would look sweet and cant wait for more truck builds and hope do a heavy haul one someday with life axle.

Well since you asked! LOL!!! Painted drop visor and chops, 7 lights across the top w/ LED and smoked covers, blind mount 20" bumper with recessed license plate, painted head lights, strapless breathers with back lit blind mount covers, clear LED turn signals on the mirrors, Phoenix light kit with under glow, smooth battery boxes, deck plate, trailer connections up front and out back, half round fenders, full light bar across the back, smoked back of sleeper light lenses, and painted sleeper shock covers.

Stainless bow tie visor and window chops with car hauler mirrors like FT trucking from big rig videos. Either chopped exhaust tips or angled diagonal.

8 inch stacks, painted tank cover w/def tank combo, 14 inch visor painted inside and out, wide tank straps-4 polished or chrome, painted air tanks , Northstar Radio, custom flooring like carbon fiber or wood or some kind of sisal floor mats, 20 inch bumper with tag inset recess 45 degrees ends and lights on backside, watermelon lights w/clear lenses, 7 on top. That should have at least one idea you can choose from. Excited to see the outcome.

Keep it clean....big sleeper drops underglow lights. Small bow tie chrome visor, flush deck plate. Paint tanks the grey add some old school hot rod/rat rod pin stripping.

This is my first time on y'all's channel. I had to come off the road in June 2015 because off health reasons. I have a Cobra 29 LTD old school with mike coming out the left side. Looks good and works great. If you want it I will pay to ship it to you so I in a way I could still be on the road. I got my chauffeur's license in 1976. Miss the hell out of being on the road! Look forward to watching this build.

FYI Both Kenworth and Peterbilt used their Paint schemes. If a customer like a certain paint scheme from Peterbilt on their Kenworth or vise versa Kenworth on a Peterbilt. Thats what was amazing with Paccar. Nice truck and good luck with the project.

Make all the running lights blue or teal switch backs. 20” front bumper painted tanks with stainless straps. Deck plate like you said. Full rear finders, drop panels around the cab and add some cab lights. No strip leave the paint clean and simple. Add some beauty rings to the gauges and paint the wood grain inserts to match the airgas teal. With some blue or teal color lights on the inside to finish it off.

Full painted fenders and deck, lights all along the bottom of the sleeper and doors, air cleaners, bottom of bumper, corner blinkers on bumper full rack leds on rear flaps. 7 Cab lights LED amber. Old school hand done pinstripe job (frame color) on cab and sleeper. Leave tanks and steps diamond

Sweet. Never drove a pet, but a square kw. Love the square hood. I love the new add on. I remember before power steering, no ac, no radio. You was lucky if you had a seat belt.

I’d stay 5 clearance lights on top but make them led with the clear lenses, I like the true looking 8 inch y pipe, definitely like paint matched dashes and the chrome floor look in these show trucks. And also I like the 29ltd cobra cbs.

Definitely a drop visor. Maybe a reverse bowtie, drop panels with under glows at a 3inch spacing. The more lights the better, but not over kill. Maybe some old school round headlights. Would look really cool with smooth boxes and steps. Just some ideas I've had if I was to put together a truck again. Sure it will look cool no matter what you decide.

Scallop pin stripe color same as frame with white outline , 8 inch low slung 90 to the 5 inch y pipe , 20 inch bumper , rear window visor , recessed box on the cat walk, infinity cab and sleeper lights , smooth battery box covers, full fenders would be cool but even just some low rider style hodgebuilt half fenders would be sweet!

Our ghost famous thick plate light bar across the back at the mud flaps and chicken lights down the side of the doors under the sleeper and up the air breathers and see what it look like with a set of lights on top of the sleeper but if not leave them off and put you some other lights underneath it

Smooth box covers! Do the stripe with the matching blue and white pinstripe on the edge of the wide frame colored stripe stainless drop visor, change the switches on the interior if that’s possible change the seats so a more comfortable fancier seat. As far as the cb goes the guy the did Bruce Wilson’s cb! That guy!

You guys have the perfect starting point to build my husband's dream truck! I mean absolutely exactly perfect! -fiberglass full fenders -painted full drop visor -8" straight pipes w 90deg. 8inch Y -2 more cablights on top (7total) -full air cleaner lights front n back -whirly bird lights inside the air cleaners -full drop panels under cab and sleeper, painted to match, w no lights, but with lights tucked up under cab n sleeper (hidden) -old original 359 style round headlights (four, round dbls each side). *And if you'd end up looking for a worthy fella who's had some real bad luck, to give a chance to buy it, contact me...

Go with all smoked LED lights, 7 across the top. The bike benefit of disc brakes is no brake fade on a down hill.

7 cab lights all clear lense led everything. Cb- Stryker 655hp is a very good radio Stripes- match the frame with black outline

Can't tell you what to do on trucks. Remember sitting on my Grandparents driveway with them. Watching the trucks go by, and pumping our arms to get drivers to honk. This would have been mid to late 60's to early 70's. Will enjoy seeing what you do.

If it were my truck guys I would paint the fuel tanks the same color as the frame and leave the fuel tank straps chrome, then you have the option if you want more blue you can paint the fenders on the hood. That's a nice looking truck can't go wrong with a peterbilt 👍

Keep it sleek and clean. Double rear fender. Wide paint match fuel straps. Paint matched breather strap. Smoot boxes. Air and electric lines out the back for the trailer.

Nice truck. I would paint the dash panels and put an aluminum floor painted the same color as frame. A nice set of stainless half fenders. Clear lens all the lights leave the 5 up top. Add some breather lights. Of coarse the painted deck plate and a nice t bar for the rear. Simple and not to expensive i bet you will have it sold before its even done. Nice video cant wait for the next.

Custom mounts for a phone as well as small tablet. Preferably LED lights. Custom rainbow LED strips around the out side, I.E. under glow, air filter lighting, rear deck lighting, wheel well lighting. Etc. Killer chrome sun visor as well as the few things you mentioned and I'd pay good money for that rig. However, I would probably do it my self haha. Planning on buying my own rig within the next year or two

I currently drive a 337 Peterbilt which has air ride and it's used for delivering Propane in Maine. It runs a 350 horse PACCAR diesel backed up by a 6 speed Allison Transmission great driving and handling vehicle

The Pete 389 is the last of the breed, so I think you should honor that and keep a very traditional theme. Diamond plate, 5 cab lights, chrome / polished aluminum / stainless, and yes....a Seminole paint scheme. For CB, Although the Cobra 29 is a great choice, I prefer something from Galaxy like the 979. Oh, and I too am happy to see the full manual trans.

OK my thoughts first off I'm a driver myself I've personally have picked up 2 brand new 389 day cabs from Fitzgerald in 2018 that came back to NJ and really big into custom trucks. This one I'd do painted reverse bow tie with 9 recessed lights in the roof give it that hot rod look and do strapless breathers and paint the bottom part of them to match with 2 glass lenses for breather lights to start

I like the color of it right now so I don’t think I’d change the color. Myself I’d put some sharp lookin molded fenders on the back the same color as the cab. Low leaf suspension front an rear, 22 bumper, old school 379 bowl shape headlights. I’d shave the cab lights and put 7 inside the drop visor. Trux dual lights all around even below the sleeper and the air cleaners. Stainless deck plate with the lights and air lines out the back bumper. I personally like a clean looking truck over something with designs in the paint. 8 inch Chino exhaust. 12 or 14 inch bowtie visor. And you can’t leave out a custom gear shifter.

Hodge built half fenders for sure. Trux lights on the breathers and inside the breathers. Painted drop visor and drop window shades, get rid Of the Lollipop mirror lights and go with watermelon lights. And switch the top to clear lenses and LEDS

Nice old school bow tie visor 3” chrome drop wrap around Panels 7” straights with 90 degree elbows or old school heat shields and call it a day 36” half genders rear light bar watermelon lights for corner lights in the front bumper. Try to stick with a 20” bumper

Laser cut on the bumper of the truck slow grind, also go classic with the cb, cobra 29 but upgrade the antennas to old school style would go good with the full gauge dash. Throw some teal lights on the interior for the door lights. And switch the bullet lighted to eld bullets.

My truck is 2013 pete flat top 315 inch wheel base with 834 718 with original brakes ( disc brakes) pulling doubles all time...mine have air ride in the front to.....mine have 10 inch straight pipes all the way from the bottom

I have some questions. What do you guys haul with this truck? I'd like to see (7) clear LEDs on the roof. Has anyone (I'm sure someone has) ever switched the grill bars to horizontal? Props on the full gauges instead of navigation. How did you decide on 295" frame? Also, more props on the 605 H.P. Did you order a FULL locking rear end? I've always wanted to own a 389.
